Good food and amazing customer service! I always get the chorizo breakfast burrito and sub it out for sausage.

Extensive menu! Sometimes I get breakfast for lunch or dinner. One of my favorite items is the chicken tenders with fries. Restaurant is always clean and well maintained. Service is spot on. Everyone is always friendly, attentive and accommodating.

We were quickly seated & ordered mimosas. I also ordered The Bear's Choice; Waffle, eggs & bacon plate. Loved the waffles. My friend ordered a Pot Roast Melt Sandwich & thought it was really good. Total came up to around $56 dollars. Overall Food & Service was good.

Food was great. The angus burger felt a tad on the small side. I might be imagining things. It was delicious though. The kids loved their meals. Fast service even though they were very busy. Chill vibes.

This is such a cute place! Decorated like a cozy cabin there are bears everywhere. A dessert case up front lets you see the sweet treats available for taking home and there is seating if the restaurant is busy enough to have a waiting period. We were seated right away and got our drinks immediately, since we were waiting for a third person we held off on ordering and the waitress came right back when our party member appeared. We got chicken fried steak, an omelette and bread pudding French toast and everyone enjoyed the meal! We'll be back for sure. One of our favorite "comfort food" places.

11/27/25 Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Getting lunch here! Arrived! No wait and Gali greeted and was very kind. 2, turkey & 1 ham dinner ordered & paid for. Gali said it would be ready in 15 minutes. It was very busy inside. We waited in the car for it be ready. 15 minutes flew by! Go to get it and the worker was nice and said it was almost ready & it was ready a few minutes later. The worker brought order with good day wishes! Appreciated!! That was WAY too simple! Thanksgiving lunch time! Everything was Great! Unfortunately, they only gave 1 cornbread muffin. We're supposed to have 3. The only problem. I shared the cornbread and it was GREAT!! Mother said hers was really Great minus the cornbread muffin, but I did share my cornbread muffin and she loved it! Gam literally said hers was Really Great! GREAT service & GREAT Thanksgiving lunch! Pie included for dinner looks DELICIOUS! Dinner!! Absolutely DELICIOUS pie! Perfect after thr GREAT lunch!! Highly recommended!

The environment is always bubbly and loud at this establishment, so if you're looking for a quiet space- do not come here. If you love great conversation, a nice space after church, and great food then this is your go to spot. Take into account that it gets very busy during breakfast. I went with the volcano breakfast and it was absolutely delicious, pancakes were soft, and eggs were cooked perfectly. I gave it a 4/5 because there was a long hair in my pancake, but the waitress brought me over a $5 coupon for next time. :)

Veterans Day menu

Stopped in for Veterans Day cuisine. Amayah was the perfect hostess. Breakfast, lunch & dinner menu choices were available for dine in of take out. I appreciate Black Bear Diner for recognizing & serving the veteran community. Juke box in the waiting area provided nostalgic music for good time entertainment.

Glorious black bear diner. Delicious sweet cream pancakes pair nicely with butter and poached eggs.

Love it here! Portions are huge. Everything we ordered was delicious. The server was a great help too! It was our first time there and she gave us time to really explore the menu and narrow down what it was that we wanted to order. By far, Black Bear Diner is our favorite diner to go to!

Pancakes & Bacon

My introduction to Black Bear Diner was in Las Vegas about 7 years ago. It was one of the best breakfast spots I've ever been to & this Fresno location is the same. We've been in Fresno for 6 days & today is our third breakfast here. First, the have one of the best unsweetened teas in America & these sweet crème pancakes are second to none. Bacon is crispy, not greasy, & never burnt. Really, the only downside is their hash browns are not good. They need to kidnap a hash town cook from Waffle House. Service is quick but unobtrusive & their desserts rival those of Perkins or Village Inn. Not the cheapest place in down but you get an excellent meal for your money. 4-stars.

Soup of the Day (150-650 cals.) which was chicken noodle

My mom and I went two days in a row, a couple weeks ago because the food was excellent the first day. She had the little less dinner with pot roast, while I had the Santa Maria steak. I didn't care for the taste of the garlic butter I believe is on it but that's a personal preference, I just don't like garlic type stuff, but aside from that I still ate it and our lunch was great. Mine came with the option of a soup which was chicken noodle and one of the best chicken noodle soups I've tried. Definitely recommend that. Customer service was excellent as well our server was kind, she came back to check on us multiple times, even suggested dessert which we weren't thinking about but glad we got, the brownie Sunday was really delicious. The next day we went back and my mom got the fish and chips, while I got the pot roast but the classic size dinner, and it was a big portion. It also came with the soup option, this day was the broccoli cheese soup, not bad. The server was just as kind and friendly as the last day, he checked on us multiple times. I can't say I really had any thing negative to say towards the food, or staff. And I really love the look and the feel of the inside of the place, the atmosphere is peaceful and decorated well. Positive experience overall!

Homemade Chili

Always a fan of Black Bear Diner, so I was pleasantly surprised to find one out here in the Clovis/Fresno area--I usually go to the Torrance location. Same great atmosphere, friendly service, and cozy vibe. The food was solid all around, but definitely try the chili--it's rich, flavorful, and hits the spot. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving comfort food done right.

Lately, I've been indulging in chicken-fried steak, and it's now my sole focus. Although I'm not a frequent visitor to this area, today was a remarkable find! The steak was freshly prepared, the potatoes achieved crispy perfection, and the eggs were like fluffy clouds of delight. However, let me emphasize the salsa-it is extraordinary! I even witnessed the chef preparing it fresh upon my arrival. I have just a small amount left, and there is no way I can leave it behind. After all, waste not, want not! Everyone I encountered was exceptionally warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The restaurant was immaculately clean-trust me, I pay attention to details, especially in restrooms! It exuded a fresh aroma and was impeccably tidy. I am eagerly counting down the minutes

But for my plate, almost $20 that had me scratching my head. At that price point you're almost certainly better off going over to red Apple. It's not a fancy, high-end restaurant,…read morebut they absolutely know how to plate and make food that keeps their customer come back for more. Their dishes have their own unique twist, and while they may not always follow the traditional recipe, everything is incredibly flavorful and statisfying. The flavors are simple, approachable, and easy to enjoy. Making it a spot that almost everyone would love. They mainly focus on the new American table. A little fusion of some other ethnicity food here. They mainly focus on their limited menu and always wing it everytime. The consistency is always on point. I love their fresh farm to table ingredients. Their plate is super affordable and beautiful. AMBIANCE :: This place is always pack. The line are always long but it does move up pretty quick too. Indoor is always pack and stuff. They do have a large patio too. I wouldn't really recommend sitting out in the patio during the hottest time of the day but it's not that bad too. They do have mist and coolers outside. Artificial leaves covering up the place cools it down a lot too. The PROS for dinning in the patio is the fresh air. SERVICE : Is great. With the high volume of guest and crowed it is. They are so patient and friendly. RATE : 5/5 PLATES :: If you're undecided and wanted a little bit of everything. I recommend choosing a plate. You get a little bit of everything. Ill say everything taste generic but so good too. WOOD GRILLED PROTEIN : SHRIMP W/ GARLIC BUTTER : Their garlic butter shrimp is so buttery. It's slightly seasoned and salted. RATE : 5/5 WOOD GRILLED PROTEIN : SALMON W/ TZATZIKI SAUCE : I love their soft salmon with a lightly crispy crust. Llightly seasoned. It's not fishy and gamey at all. I love their tzatziki sauce and it paired so well with the lemon juice too. RATE : 5/5 WOOD GRILLED PROTEIN : ANCHO CRUSTED PRIME TRI TIP : Nicely seasoned and salted. It's always come out medium rare, tender and juicy. RATE : 5/5 NOTE :If you like medium rare pieces of beef. Go for their tri tip. If you wanted more cook go for their ribeye. The cons about their ribeye is that they are not consistent. You can ask to be remade but it does take them awhile to cook it too. SIDES : TEPPANYAKI FRIED RICE W/ BACON : I love their bacon teppanyaki rice. It's probably a must have everytime you go there. I love their sweet sauce on top of the rice. It's a kids favorite choice too. The sodium level is perfect. Usually bacon would overly salted it but this fried rice is perfect. RATE : 5/5 SIDES : RIGATONI W/ SAUSAGE, PECORINO : Straight up generic boiled pasta with sour tomato sauce and sausage. It's so simple but its ok. I'll say this could be kids top 2nd favorite side dish. RATE : 4/5 FOUNTAIN DRINKS :: I love their unique fountain drinks. It's mainly focus on Mexican fountain drinks. OVERALL :: Sometimes the best food isnt about being authentic. It's about being delicious, the art, and this restaurant definetly delivers. I can already see myself coming back for more!

Just love the working model train set perched overhead in both eating areas. If it's not running, just ask your server and they will turn it on. Second visit I ordered the Trainwreck breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bell peppers, onions, tortilla chips, jack and cheddar cheese. Plus choice of two meats and two additional vegetables.) with biscuit and gravy. I choose two types of sausage, zucchini and avocado. Oh and an ice cold beer of course. Both meals were fresh and delicious. No matter what I order here I always know it will be tasty and well balanced. Service is always friendly, helpful and courteous!
