So, we still frequent this location but I have not received points using the app for most of my visits over the last 3 months and the pay by app doesn't work and they don't care to fix it as I've talked to both managers and corporate several times. What use to be a 5 star featured review is now a 3 star one. On a recent visit I actually had an employee angrily throw the ladle accross the room with sauce flying everywhere because I asked for 2 kinds of sauce! Previous review: All right, you know I don't give out many 5 star reviews, but the owners/management of this new pizza place are rock stars. The place just opened and the environment is a bit over stimulating in regards to the sheer amount of well trained staff focused on every step of the customer experience. Sounds impossible right? I assure you it is true and also true is the fact that there is no way this level of staffing will be maintained in the coming months. Regardless, the store is modern, clean, and well thought out and shiny and new. The menu is straightforward and like this franchise's competitor out in Fleming Island which shall remain nameless, you aren't going to walk away with a personal pizza in the $20 range with a chalky pre-made crust. What you will receive here is a very fresh crust with a good number of fresh and flavorful pizza ingredients served piping hot and fast all for about $8.00! I also tried the s'more dessert. They will heat it for you and I strongly recommend this for a flash back to campfire event. The cookies are a larger portion than I like as compared to the marshmallow and chocolate, but still a very nice treat at this quick serve gem. I believe I was here on day 2 of their opening. Having witnessed things running so well from this early on, they earned my 5 stars. Of course, time will tell if the average experience changes dramatically on a Monday evening after the current staff changes face as all restaurants do, but until then please get to this new and exciting addition to The River City Marketplace! read more

Pizza is fantastic. I love their gluten-free crust, which tastes like pretzels. Their toppings are diverse, and run outside the "norm", with things like artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, garlic two ways, mozzarella 2 ways, blue cheese, Parmesan, and the optional "drizzle" at the end of olive oil, pesto, BBQ sauce and something else too, although I forget what it is now. On service...and my reason for 3 stars. 1st visit service was flawless. 2nd visit, I placed an online order as I was in a hurry to get back to work for a meeting. I know they wait to toss the pizza in the oven when you get there buttttt....I get to the register and their system went down. Three people later and a few minutes of confusion, and my having to pay cash, when they realize, oh right, we have to cook your pizza now. Couldn't you have started it when I walked up? It would have been ready in the 5 minutes you were troubleshooting the register. I was late for my meeting as a result. This defeats the benefit of online ordering. Well this was a pleasant surprise. Honestly I have been going out of my way to eat at YourPie across town but Blaze has filled that niche in this part of town. I just go with making my own. During this 2nd visit to this location, we walked in late when I returned from a flight. They were closing in 10 minutes but still had everything out and served us as if they just opened. We really enjoyed attending Blaze Pizza, though its Chipotle-style assembly line look me by surprise and I was a little skeptical that pizza could be made any faster. When i heard my name called, I came across two stunning looking pizzas that I removed to our table. The first slice of my own 10-12" pizza removed all doubt that pizza could be made on this level. In further examination of the process there, I could see the tremendous amount of kitchen prep this venue put into executing the pizzas in volume. I looked at every item and every tray for anything that looked suspect. To my surprise, I couldn't find anything odd as the servers kept the prep area clean. My only bone of contention is that the venue does not have trays for eating inside. With hot plates and mere food grade paper between it and hot pizza, I used my culinary training and grabbed the nearest substitute for an oven mitt to take the pizzas to my table. I should note that the salads are also good, though they are prepared in advance. I am looking forward to visiting this place again and tasting the super-fresh sauce they obviously make on site as is sparkles in support of the extra gooey cheese on the pizza. read more

If you like chipotle's dining style and pizza you'll like Blaze. It's the exact same dining style as chipotle, but for pizza. You pay one standard price and walk down a line of employees while telling them what ingredients to put on your pizza. Be careful on going crazy with a bunch of toppings. The pizza becomes unstable and the dough doesn't cook all the way through when you overload it with a lot of toppings. Which is easy to do since the toppings do not cost any extra. Also, since the dough is really thin it doesn't handle a lot of toppings that well and makes eating it a bit of a hassle. So the moral of the story is to pick a few select toppings probably around 3 or 4 pending on the toppings selected. Decent prices, decent pizzas (for the price), cooked/serviced fairly quick, but definitely not gourmet. It's fast casual pizza. read more

They have great gluten free pizza, move really fast, and the service is extremely good. There are not many places where they have special handing for gluten free diners, including changing their gloves, special containers for the crust, and special handling all the way down the line. They are one of the very few places where the gluten free prices are reasonable, around $10 for unlimited toppings. We pay that much for a cheese pizza at Domino's that's not nearly as good. The place is really noisy, so it's not the best place for any serious conversation, but great for a quick bite to eat. read more

I went by a few days after their opening. Service was fine, being tweaked by management while having the pizza built, which felt a little awkward. I had them make a special pizza for me, to compare apple to apples with my local favorite. I wasn't thrilled with the comparison. The crust is too thin and floppy, lacking the flavor I'm use to. Cheese was too thin, even after asking for more. I will try them again, to see if their other pizzas are better, but only on Sundays, when Luigi's is closed. I had a smores dessert too. I'll go next door to Starbucks and get something else next time. Starbucks pound cake and scones beat the smores hands down. If I'm limited to River City for pizza, I would probably pick BJ's or Boston's. If you can travel a little farther, definitely try Luigi's in Oceanway. read more

The place was recommended by my parents to have a dinner after work. The concept was great, and they allowed us go thru the line and build our own pizza. We were also allowed to do half and half. They have 3 different type crusts which include the typical thin brick oven style pizza. There was also a slightly thicker dough, and lastly, the gluten free version. The kids had half cheese and half pepperoni, and my wife had pepperoni, sausage, and spinach. I tried the "green stripe" which included pesto drizzle over grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, chopped garlic, mozzarella, arugula. It was a great selection for a change in my typical pizza. Three minutes in the carefully tended brick oven and viola... the guy shouts your name and you retrieve your pizza. My hubs and son are the pizza lovers, but I was more than happy too. I get the build your own and can't speak for their personal creations. But what I build is de-li-cious!!! Most of the employees are super nice, the pizza really is fast, and it's affordable. I eat half for lunch and half for dinner. The place is always clean (restroom included) they always check on you to make sure everything is fine or if you need a box to-go.
