So, it's finally here. Blaze. I had tried Pieology before so I was familiar with the concept. But let's be honest for a hot minute, anyone who's been to Chipotle (read all of the peoples) is familiar with the concept. You go, point like a monkey to what you want, they bake it, you stuff, you come back for more. Simple. I had a pepperoni pizza with their spicy sauce. Sadly I neglected to try it sans chili flakes first, so I'm not entirely sure how spicy it really is. Regardless, after a liberal amount of the aforementioned flakes, the pie was at prime peppertude, so I'd imagine that the spicy sauce ain't that spicy. Blaze is also adept at the thin, crispy crust which I am wont to love and drool over. Sadly though, they don't clean their oven out enough and the charred souls of pizzas passed lingers on my stygian spotted slice. Char is good. Carbon is not. They also offer blood orange lemonade, to continue the trend of abhorrent atrocities. While truthfully I'm a sucker for anything blood orange, the lemonade was very tasty, and not cloying. Is this a good pairing for pizza? I'm not sure. It could never trump beer, but I'll continue to water my food hole with it anyway. Is this the best pizza spot in the desert? Certainly not. But if I'm in the area and want a quick, inexpensive pie, then you bet I'm coming here (if I'm in the area of course). read more

Horrible customer service and mediocre pizza. Last week I ordered via the app for curbside. I called the number when we arrived like the app instructed and was told by a girl that they would bring it right out. 20 mins later, still no pizzas. I went inside to find out what was taking so long. Our pizzas were sitting there getting cold. Everyone acted dumb as if I hadn't called, including the young Hispanic girl who answered the phone. When I complained that we had been waiting for 20 mins and both pizza boxes were completely cold, they acted like I was putting them out. As if me being upset was an annoyance to them. No one apologized or took responsibility. After asking for a manager, they finally offered to remake the pizza or give me a free pizza card. Since my family was waiting for the pizzas and I had already driven 20 mins to come get them, I took the card. Today, I came back to use the card and found out that they had changed the hours so I had to wait another 30 mins for them to open. When I tried to enter they said they were only accepting online orders or they the app. The Free pizza card is useless because you can only use the card in store. Then I tried to order online and the app won't let you order from this location. No one can fix the issue and no one takes responsibility. Won't be back. read more

On the fast casual pizza places it's pretty good. They use fresh ingredients dough made daily Crust was nice and crisp but lacked the flavor and depth from some of my favorite wood fired places Also the red sauce they used was just ok again missing that wow factor for a great pizza. But for the price not bad. Also had arugula salad which was good and had a nice Balsamic glaze, I'm glad it was on the side because they give you way too much. read more

My family loves the assembly line pizza concept! I have been called finicky by most who know me so I love being able to get exactly what I want! Others have said it's like a Subway or Chipotle for pizza...true! I also love the fact that it feels healthier than most other pizza places. I have yet to have any greasy mess! The reason for 4 stars is because of the mozzarella cheese...I always have to ask for double. If I don't, they are very skimpy on the cheese! You can't skimp on the cheese!! All of the toppings are really fresh! The lemonade and smore cookies are amazing!!! You won't be disappointed! A favorite!!! read more

Definitely need some service upgrades. The app is fine for ordering. Although the pizza we received wasn't what we ordered. We asked for delivery which is provided by a third party. We ordered two pizzas and received one. The manager blamed the driver. It may have been carelessness but the store is 100% responsible for their service people whether at the store or, as in this case, a third party. The pizza was cold as the driver had no insulated bag for delivery. Once again, maybe a third party driver doesn't have a bag but the store should. No one is going to rate the unknown driver. He represents Blaze. The manager resolved the issue by making a new pizza correctly although I had to go there to pick it up. Pizzas are good. read more

Horrible experience. Basically kicked out of eating inside 20 minutes before closing because the works wanted to be out by 10:00 Pm. There were roughly 15 people still eating and the lights were turned off at 9:45 while people were still trying to enjoy their meals. Employees looked bothered to see customers continue to enter, and bothered when asked for extra sauces. The drink machines were turned off and the iced tea carried away before 9:50. I'm only giving it a star because I have to and I have to say it does have good pizza. Other than that, this particular Blaze Pizza in Palm Desert is horrible! I have been going to other Blaze Pizzas for years and they have been great with wonderful customer service. If you are looking for customer service here, look somewhere else. My husband and I ordered a pizza through the app and realized that we would not make it there in time to pick up the pizza at the set time. So I tried calling at least 15 times and they do not answer their phone -- it's only automated, which is absolutely infuriatingly frustrating. So my husband rushed to make it there on time and when he got there on time, the pizza had not even been put into the oven yet. He asked them why nobody answers the phone. And they just looked at him and walked away without saying a word. He was their only customer so it's not like they were busy or anything. So he went and stood outside at the window waiting for the pizza to be finished. He was outside for at least 15 minutes and he went back inside and the pizza was sitting out on the counter and he asked them how long it had been sitting there and they looked at him like he had three heads. He said "couldn't have somebody come and let me know or waved to me to let me know that it was ready?" Again, nobody answered. I'm not sure why they think that Customer Service is not needed, but we will never go back to this place again! Ever! After reading so many other customer reviews that are complaining about the same thing, for a long time, you would think that the owner or management would do something about it but they obviously don't care. read more

I used to love getting blaze pizza. I don't think I'll be back anymore they seem to always have rude workers that look like they hate their job and can't order a high rise it's never cooked all the way. They water down the bqq sauce which is disgusting taste awful. I don't recommend coming here to eat pizza. Dominoes is a little expensive but at least my pizza will done all the way. read more

Ordering pizza on their website for pick up is a bad idea if you expect to get what you ordered. If you're customizing your pizza to add extra cheese or splitting toppings, etc you have to do it in about 50 characters or less because that's all the space they give you. There are no options to customize your order online other than the small box at the end of the transaction. Don't expect your order to be exactly as you requested if you customize it either. I asked for light cheese and extra artichokes on my pizza and specified my drink all in the small box. What I got was a soggy, cold pizza with 1-2 toppings on each slice, which wasn't cut all the way and a watered down drink. They said it would take 20-25 minutes for the order to be completed. I placed the order online and my husband left Indio right after I paid. The order was sitting on the shelf when he arrived before the 20 minute time frame. It was made ahead and sat waiting for us. I left a review and a picture of my pizza on their website detailing all the mistakes and I got an auto email back asking me to give additional information on their site again and a coupon for a free dessert. I don't want a free dessert. I wanted my food replaced. I will never order online from here again which is really crappy because that is the only way to get any discounts. I think this is the best pizza in the desert! Quality ingredients and the BEST crust. And the price is so reasonable! It's the only pizza that I will eat the pizza crust ends and not give them to my husband! You pick what and how much goes on each pizza. This is my fourth time at Blaze. I love their pizzas especially when I make my own and use the pesto sauce instead of one that is a tomato sauce base. This establishment runs pretty well. The Gluten-free pizza was really good. I ordered the Link In with Italian Sausage, Peppers and Mozzarella and then I added Basil. The pizza was cooked well and the dough didn't seem too flat like Gluten-free pizza can be at times. All of the staff was really friendly and efficient. It didn't take too long to get my pizza which takes longer than the regular pizza dough to bake for some reason. My cousin enjoyed his regular dough pizza which came out before mine. Wow - my wife and I just had custom-made build-your-own pizzas from Blaze. They were both terrific! The quick-fired thin crusts were perfectly browned and all the toppings are fresh. Went in to buy some bottled water and they pretty much acted like I wasn't there, they had no one waiting and no line just me and around 4-5 workers behind counter. I have gone to Blaze Pizza for years but on Dec 31 I had a bad experience! I have tried to contact customer service, they have a Pissed customer web site, so evidently they are aware of bad customer service. But I have been unable to navigate the website and unable to reach them by phone. So the problem is the burnt pizza I received!!! Once before I got home with a totally burned pizza. This time I was in the restaurant to return it... and the manager ARGUED WITH ME FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS THST IT WAS NOT BURNT!!! Not only was the crust BLACK all around the edges... but it was dry ... and when I tasted it... it tasted like charcoal burnt food!!! Finally she decided to give up and make me a new pizza that was satisfactory and not burned nor dried out!!! What does it take to give good customer service and a good pizza!!! I was severely harassed and treated horrible by an employee by the name of Shaun or Shawn at this location for just asking for ranch . He embarassed me in front of all the people at this location and will not be going back. He was working the oven and all I did was ask for ranch . He then replied very rude and said anything else outloud like he was irritated for me asking for ranch . Then said enjoy your free soda also almost yelling at me in front of customers . He then threw the pizza at me and told me to get the f out of the store . I then asked for a manager and told her what happened and was laughed at . The menu has changed since the last time I came in. I ordered 2 toppings, had to ask for extra cheese, the amount was ridiculously stingy! 6 pieces of pepperoni and maybe 10 pieces of pineapple. Took it home and had to recut it myself since I could pull a piece Off without tearing the slices. Disappointed to say the least. No longer compares to the other pizza places around town. Had to pick up a to go order here twice in the past 2 weeks. What a horrific experience! One pizza ready sitting on the counter, other two sitting on the back counter being ignored. Asked about it and they cut and boxed eventually. 2nd time again part of the order sitting on the counter ready to go with the rest of the order being burned in the oven! This particular Blake Pizza is a mess. It's so disorganized and chaotic. MISMANAGED! The workers are busting their asses doing their jobs, but there is not enough help--no one is in the dining room keeping floors and tabletops clean. TOTALLY UNDERSTAFFED! (I didn't dare even use the restroom here because I could imagine...) My mom and I had to ask to have the tables wiped, but we waited at least 5 minutes until a guy could break away to do it. And the guy left the table all wet! Trash all over the floors. I'll stick with Pieology! My mom asked one employee, "What is the Buffalo sauce?" She said, " It's a sauce." I was shocked. Great spot for a quick snack or for late night dinner. They have quite a bit of variety on crusts. My favorite is the keto crust. Not many places can cater to all of my keto needs. I ordered curbside and I just called them when I was there and a girl came running out to give me my order. They have excellent service as well as fresh items. PD location Started out great, great custom pizzas, fun staff, everyone seemed to be having fun.. All of a sudden I'm told by server that I can't have what I used to get on my "custom builds", that staff was getting into trouble for adding more of this or that for custom built pizzas. So I quit going, to me custom means "custom", I even said I'd pay extra, but it wasn't an option on the "custom" other than the crust. I was desperate tonight and in a hurry so ordered my first BP online and what a disappointment, HARDLY ANY OF THE THREE MEATS I ORDERED.. NO MORE!! Would of got 5 stars but place is always dirty! We have been there different times of day at least 1-2 a week and they never have clean tables and chairs! Please clean! To see customers all Around cleaning off their tables and chairs is sad for a place with a line out the door!! They have too much of the staff behind the counter and not one person cleaning off tables... shakers... etc. They need to assign 1 person to clean the place.. not once every hour! More!!! Please!!!! It's busy enough to hire another person and their job alone to clean up! So bad that there is food on the floor and the staff just walks right past it! Where they have the napkins is bad.... Well, it has been 2 times that I have had a horrible experience here. I thought that the other reviews were particularly harsh but I now see that Blaze -PD has gone down hill. I usually get a high rise build your own pizza and load it up. Jeramy has made my pizza twice and he sucks. I feel that I have to be such a Dick when I have to continue ask him for more toppings. He is either brain dead or just doesn't give a crap. Zack (I assume the manager) is no better. He sucks equally. If this place is going to make it management needs to take a hard look on what is going on. The other place in Rancho Mirage is looking better and better. read more

After hiking 12 miles today I decided to get some pizza at my favorite spot. I come here at least once a week and every time I leave happy. Today was exceptional, especially the service I received from Peter, Carla, and Ernest. The food was amazing and they were very helpful and friendly. They made my experience here amazing and I left satisfied and happy that I came here for lunch. We usually love Blaze. We were in town visiting my mother who had a stroke we were emotionally and mentally exhausted and when we found a Blaze close by we decided to enjoy a meal with our family. We ordered 5 pizza's and practically had to beg our pizza handler to add more cheese to our "Cheese Pizza" (like 5 times) our Veggie and pepperoni pizza literally had 5 pepperoni's on the entire pizza. The servers would look at the manager when we continually requested more cheese. I can go on but based on the reviews it seems like not much has changed. When i finally went to pay my $50 something dollars for the pizza's and the 5 LARGE drinks that I was not given a choice of med or large or whatever the sizes are!! If i was in the right head space I would have walked out of there without paying and left them with 5 uncooked pizzas. it saddens me to leave such a bad review but hopefully the owners will read these reviews and make some much needed changes!!! read more
