I got a sausage breakfast burrito; it also had hash browns, eggs and cheese. It was REALLY good, very tasty. It's in my top 3 breakfast burritos I've had. Cheap too at only $9.75 pre tax and a very good size! I got 2 salsas on the side to try; green salsa which had a bit of a kick and a creamy orangey sauce (chipotle maybe?) I really liked that one. Yum! My only complaint is that the burrito severely lacked the hash browns, there was hardly any. I will still go back to try other items.

I live in the neighborhood, but have never been here before...I doubt that I will ever be here again. I decided to try the "new" Cheese Enchiladas $14. The best thing about this meal is the refried beans . The enchiladas are flavorless, with the diced onions on top being the dominant flavor. It's the noon hour and the place is not especially full, although there is a steady stream of takeout orders. They have a (too) loud radio station playing over the dining room speakers. Very little music and a lot of advertising...all in Spanish. Just annoying noise! The girl at the counter is pleasant enough. I don't usually write bad reviews, but Blue Burro was just too off the rails to not be honest.

The beef (5) Rolled Tacos are loaded!

I was craving Mexican food on a Friday night and it was getting late, but I remembered Blue Burro was near Marina Pacifica where I was walking around. Called in 5 beef rolled tacos around 9:15 and they said my order would be ready in about 15 minutes. Usually I'm a green salsa person, but on Emma's recommendation, I asked for the chipotle ranch sauce. When I opened my bag, what did I see but 4 little sauce containers so I could try all the different salsas! Such a thoughtful gesture from Emma, whom I found out shares my affinity for good jewelry design (we struck up a conversation about a ring I was wearing). This was my first time trying Blue Burro, and it was fun to try all the flavors of salsas. I started with the lightest, green/tomatillo, which is quite mild and adds some nice acidity to the rolled tacos. The red has a little kick! I finished with the chipotle ranch to take the edge off the spiciness - smooth, creamy, and a good complement. As for the rolled tacos, as you can see from my photos the kitchen does not skimp on the works! Overall, really fresh, delicious food and I will definitely be back soon.

5 Blue's Famous Rolled Tacos

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I used to come here all the time when they first opened (like 2019-2020-ish), and man... it was a whole different story back then. The sauces? Straight . Like "extra sauce, drown my tacos, no shame" type of fire. Fast forward to now... I only pulled up because I was starving and the homies were all yelling "TACOS OR NOTHING." So we went all in -- carne asada tacos, surf & turf taco, Blue's famous rolled tacos, regular surf & turf chips, adobada quesadillas, plus some shakes and iced coffee. Basically ordered like we were feeding a small village. And somehow... everything came out MID. Like aggressively mid. Disrespectfully mid. The only things that still held it down were the chips and the rolled tacos -- those were still doing their job, no complaints there. Everything else? Felt like the flavor took a vacation and never came back. Now let's talk about the service... because WOW. We got everything to-go, and they really said "good luck out there." No straws for the drinks. No napkins. No utensils. AND NO SAUCES??? Like how do you forget the ONE thing you were known for?? That's like going to a pizza spot and they forget the cheese. Yeah, maybe we should've checked the bag... but also, shouldn't that be the bare minimum?? We didn't realize until we got home, and at that point everyone just sat there in silence, pissed, staring at dry tacos like we just got betrayed. Ain't nobody trying to drive back after that. Overall... just a frustrating, disappointing experience. This place used to hit different... now it's just hitting my patience.

Such a nice easy menu with excellent food. Burritos, tacos and quesadillas are the stars of the show. Get them on their own or as a combo plate. I'm for the burritos because I like how filling they are. They don't skimp on the ingredients. The Surf n Turf is a good choice and one of my favorites as well as anything with steak. Nice tortillas that hold up well and don't fall apart. Overall, everything I've tried is delicious and flavorful. The place is on the small side but that's okay. They do good business during the work day lunch hours and they keep the line morning. Inside is clean and bright.

Service The service was welcoming and quick. I was first greeted by the cashier and was kindly recommended to buy their breakfast burritos as it was my first time being there. She also gave me all 3 types of salsas for my chips as I didn't know what was good. Excellent customer service. 4/5 Food I do in advance apologize for not remembering what type of breakfast burrito I've ordered. The breakfast burrito was good but nothing special. The whole combo which included the burrito, salsa and a drink came to about 15-17 dollars which was very expensive. For a very average meal, I do not recommend coming back. 2/5 Ambiance The restaurant is a nice little establishment with a dedicated kitchen and setting that screams, they're successful. You can tell that the they've been in the game for a long time. They have a little dining area that can sit roughly 15 people. The restaurant itself is your typical stand alone restaurant sitting at a busy plaza where you can grab a quick bite. 3/5 Overall I am happy that I came to try it. It has been on my to-visit list for the longest time and now I can finally cross it out. The restaurant is nothing special and a bit expensive. The overall experience is very forgetful and a decent place to grab lunch if you're in the area. 3/5

Really good food. Fast and friendly service. Place was clean and nice. Definitely recommend for a nice quick meal. Prices were really good in my opinion

Blue Burro is located on 7th street, across the street from CSULB. They have tacos, burritos, taquitos, and shakes. In particular, their taquitos are interesting as you can get them topped and loaded. My wife's go-to are their "Blue's Famous Rolled Tacos" ($18), which are five taquitos (shredded beef or potato), topped with sour cream, guacamole, salsa, carne asada, shrimp, and cheese. The taquitos, on their own, are thin and not anything special; however, the toppings make it like nachos 2.0. I also ordered a "california burrito" ($14), which has meat, fries, cheese, and sour cream. I paid a little extra to add some guacamole ($1.50) and bacon ($1.50). I don't think the bacon is necessary; however, guacamole is a nice add. Both of these dishes are pricey, but I think it's a good spot for a loaded burritos, fries, and taquitos, and it's definitely a step up from all of the Albertos variants.

The food is pretty good

The employees are sweet and kind. The foos is good. I love the surf and turf burrito and my dad loves their tacos and protein bowls. Come try it for yourself.

Was happy to see that the service here was as good as the one in Torrance.. both have great counter service where they are happy to answer any questions. Carne asada tacos are absolutely fantastic! Rolled tacos are great as well.. we still haven't tried the cali burrito but it is next on the list.

Heard a lot about this place and I finally had a chance to try it. The manager was very helpful answering my questions. I ordered the new enchiladas based on the managers recommendation. The food arrived fast and hot. I will definitely return soon.

Review is for the milkshakes only. I haven't actually eaten food here. The chocolate milkshake and the strawberry banana milk shake hit and are my go tos whenever I visit this area. Perfect consistency and not a bad price point either. They did give me a choc milkshake once that was vanilla but they were happy to remake it for me. Otherwise ambiance isn't anything special just a few tables inside but I'd say it's more of a grab and go type place.

What happened to the queso dip? It was REALLY good. 🤷🏻‍♀️? Bring it back, please!

Sorry Jacquelin the queso dip was discontinued.

Is the gansito shake still available?

Hi, I didn't see it.

Why is the horchata blue? Like how do you make it blue?

Lmao omgggg

Will they do "curbside" pick-up? Or at least bring the pre-paid food outside?

Yes, they have a parking space for that and last week when I called in my order they brought it out to my car and took my payment in a non-curbside pick up space.

Do they accept Apple Pay?

They sure do!!! I used my Apple Pay for my delicious Blue Horchata. You're my Boy Blue!!!!

What are your hours of operation?

9am - 10pm daily

Do you have plans to offer vegan options? (Simple suggestions include: replace meat with soyrizo/beans/potato, replace cheese with pico de gallo)? Thanks and welcome to the community!

Can you guys please post nutrition facts on the website ?

First of all one of their workers with the mastche and tattoos is so cute which is always a plus for the ambiance. It didn't take long to get our food. About 5 minutes and they brought it out to where we sat since we dined in. First of all! You need to get an aguas fresca. We got the medium for the orange mango and the Jamaica. They are so natural. I'm a huge fan of artificial flavor so this was a huge shock, but it pairs so well with their food. My only regret isn't getting the large. For the food we got the burrito 2.0 asada and the chivichanga chicken. The burrito was great but very heavy on the beans. Make sure you get extra green salsa. It's their best and a perfect balance of salty with a hint of sweet. The red salsa gets spicy. If you can't handle hot Cheetos don't eat it. Now the chivichanga thing was perfect. It's so tiny but the fact it's about $5 was perfect. I have never had something so well priced and portioned before. The way I can describe it if you ever wanted to taste high class Taco Bell that will make you want four more then you need to try it. And I mean this in the best way possible. It's so cheesy and savory and yummy!!! Truly just from these two dishes we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Our next dishes is to try the tacos!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

My go to is the sampler to get a little of everything. The cochinita pibil is one of my all time favorites and the mole poblano. Absolutely delicious!! The service here is good. We didn't necessarily have a great experience though. They messed up our order and we never got it fixed. We just happened to be there when there was a big party there too and it seemed like staff was a bit flustered. I told the workers about our order and they just forgot. We waited for over 15 min and when I went up to ask again, they realized they had forgotten about us and hadn't made our correct order so we decided to leave it and just go. Regardless of that hiccup, the staff were very friendly and they were apologetic about the situation. I would come back for sure and give it another try. The Boyle heights location has always been on top of it and I've never experienced a bad visit so I wouldn't say this location is bad off of one visit. The space is small and has inside and outside seating. We tried to eat outside but that bigger party took up a lot of the seats out there. They have a beautiful mural inside too and we luckily got a table. Overall, guisados is a must and I'm happy there's a location closer to me now.
