Hands down one of my favorite pizza spots, and I ALWAYS come for the Thai chicken, it is just SO good! Came on a weeknight and shout out to Noelle, who served us at the bar. hit this joint with a gal pal and former coworker recently. really enjoyed it! the food was great and service was fast and friendly as well. we had the meatball starter and I ordered the BLT "flatwich," both of which were very good. couple of notes that could make them much better: the meatballs arrived cold and were fairly small in size, particularly when compared to the huge, accompanying garlic bread (also tasty). my suggestion is to serve them hot and perhaps roll them larger. the flatwich is a very creative idea! my other note for that one is to serve them in a "sandwich stand" so they are propped up and perky, ready to be eaten. they were just kinda plunked on the plate and could use a bit more creativity. but the meal was great and the restaurant itself cozy and cool. will go back! read more

We had vouchers from an event we attended a while ago for a $12 value, so we decided to give it another try. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, even though she was busy. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a cider. We both ordered a personal pizza. My husband got chorizo on his, and I got the white pizza (which has ricotta, spinach, artichokes, and red onions). I've never eaten at the restaurant, but had it via takeout, DoorDash, and catering many times. The overall 4* is a 5* rating for the wings (garlic Parmesan and lemon pepper are my favorites!). The pizza is a 3*. I just don't care for the crust. When my company orders via catering, I have wings and salad (and skip the pizza). read more

Toppings included were candied bacon, mozzarella, seasoned ground beef and mushrooms, within a few hours of eating the pizza I fell extremely ill. Come to find out I got some sort of food poisoning from something on that pizza. Today is day 5 and I'm still recovering. It could've been a lot worse. I'm extremely disappointed as I've ordered from them before and this has never happened. I really loved this salad on the pizza dough when I worked in Buckhead we would always order it for lunch. I no longer work or live near any of their locations but while visiting a friend who I kept saying I wanted it we visited this location. Totally disappointed the salad was not on point and the pizza dough was like old dried up stale bread. I had my bubble totally broken. I am disappointed to say the least. Blue Moon Pizza has some pretty good portions. And it's nice that they have a Mon thru Fri lunch special where you can order a single slice of cheese pizza with a soda and/or side salad. My work place catered lunch from Blue Moon Pizza before, and the coworkers were meh about it. The slices were fairly large, and you could choose from an array from toppings. On this occasion in the area, the hubs and I decided to give it an in-store visit. Even on a quiet Sunday afternoon, there was a good medium crowd going on. Don't be deceived thinking it's a fast, causal spot. Blue Moon Pizza is definitely a sit down spot where they make your food fresh. I had the (cheese) stromboli with Italian sausage and mushrooms. It was oh so delicious and fairly large. The dough was just so soft and gooey. I am definitely a fan! The hubs had the buffalo chicken flatwich with seasoned fries. The flatwich is described to be their homemade pizza dough but in the form of a wrap. It was pretty flavorful and sizable. He said he liked it and was impressed with the portions. The fries were pretty tasty. I'm particular about fries since I don't like potato-y and soggy ones, but these were well seasoned and had good texture. read more

I'm trying to think of something I like about this place. I reckon I like the fact that the name made me sing the song. Outside of that I have nothing. If you are looking for some bland crust stuffed inside of a too little pizza box with no real visible signs of cheese and enough toppings for only one slice of pizza this might be your spot. To top it off we asked for the pizza to be cut into squares and what we got is every other shape. They cut it regular and then tried to fix it. The jerk pizza is sadness. Came here after a hike with friends and the food was great! We got the garlic knots to share and the Sicilian pizza. Everything tasted phenomenal! The garlic knots were crispy on the outside but so fluffy on the inside! They were so buttery and indulgent! Don't sleep on the marinara sauce either, it looked plain but it tasted so fresh and delicious! The pizza was also great! Since it was advertised as Sicilian, I did expect the crust to be much thicker than it was, but it was still delicious! The toppings were simple but extremely flavorful. My only complaint is that I feel like for the corner pieces, the sauce could've gone more to the crust. The corner pieces had more crust than anything else and although the crust was delicious, it does taste a little plain just by itself. Hadn't been here in a long time, and we decided to eat in. Parking was still easy to find at around 5:15 pm. We were greeted and and shown a table quickly. We didn't like the location of the first table we were shown by the host, and he was accommodating when I asked if we could be seated at a different one that had less foot traffic passing by. There were three guys in a group at the bar and only three other tables with customers at them when we came in. I noticed that, in order to ensure customers were social distanced, signs were placed on tables where customers should not be seated. There is an outdoor patio, but it wasn't being used today, and the rainy weather could've been a factor. All employees wore face masks, and all customers coming into the restaurant also wore face masks. Our server was efficient, and checked on us throughout the time we were there to ensure we had everything we needed/wanted. We ordered a couple of Blue Moon beers and a large The Italian pizza. The beers were served to us almost immediately, and we waited about 15 to 20 minutes for our pizza. The Italian has chicken sausage, sweet and tangy sauce, house cheese blend fontina, pine nuts and scallions. I thought the crust was much too thin and was overbooked, and they skimped on the amount of sauce, sausage and cheese put onto the top of the pizza. Because of these reasons, I felt the pizza lacked full flavor. The beer was good! There are 5 TV monitors, and all them were showing sports, so I'm sure this would be a nice place to hang out to have wings, pizza and beer during non-pandemic sports events. read more

The moz sticks were nothing super unique - they were not the super stringy kind so u can actually cut the cheese with ur teeth. Garlic knots were good. We also got the Italian pizza (which I didn't try) and the Thai Chicken, and the Luna. I really like the caramelized onions on the Luna - that was probably my favorite part of the meal. The pepperoni tastes like plastic, what little sauce there is on the pizza is unseasoned, the crust is hard and burned to an unpleasant crisp. It makes for a disappointing slice. There are much more satisfying pizza joints around even in Sandy Springs. The garlic rolls are un flavorful and the dipping sauce is unseasoned. It tastes like tomato sauce from a can. The garlic butter is the only thing with flavor but it's overpowering. The cheesy bread, which in essence is a cheese pizza minus the sauce is one of the better things on the menu. It is actually seasoned and not overcooked. We have been eating at this location for 10 years now and are wondering if they have changed their recipes or suppliers. Just had a baby at Northside hospital, this place has just outstanding pizza. Soon as my wife had a baby she wanted gluten-free pizza with vegan cheese on it. And this is our second time ordering it comes hot and a little crispy and extremely fresh. You can tell this is one of the best pizza places in Atlanta. Even though it wasn't straight out of the oven anymore (had been sitting for a few minutes since we left and came back), the first bites were still tasty. It was even better once rewarmed in a pan on the stove at home! Nice crust, and the vegan cheese option is pretty tasty (if you're a vegan cheese eater, that is -- I would never recommend vegan cheese to a dairy cheese eater, lol). All the staff who helped us (2 girls took our orders and a guy behind the bar rang us up and handed off our food) were very friendly and helpful. We asked for extra napkins and plasticware (for my son's dessert), and the bartender was happy to oblige. I can't say it's the best pizza I've ever had, but a solid choice that I will get again. I ordered two of the biggest pies I could get for gluten free and regular crusts so I could see if there was much of a difference. I have a slight gluten intolerance but Benadryl is usually all I need to keep from swelling up. I know I can't do this forever but every "blue moon" I just want dough that isn't cauliflower. So, I got one of each and there was barely any difference. I would gladly buy their gluten free option because it's not the size of a coaster and it was legit delicious. It's not grainy, soggy nor does it taste like corn mash. It's crispier than the regular crust which I love! Did I mention it's not the size of a coaster? It's a real 12 inch pizza. I did have to pay $4.50 more for it than regular crust but it was good and a great treat if you're looking to splurge and get some really good pizza. I also noticed that it didn't sit like a log. I recently ordered the build your own pizza kit from Blue Moon and it was a hit! I think it's such a cool, unique way for customers to still support local restaurants during this time. Service was pretty quick I ordered online and drove there to pick up my ingredients. For $15.99 the kit comes with the dough, flour, oil, cheese, salt/pepper, pizza sauce and pepperonis to make 2 personal pizzas. I added bacon, green peppers and spinach to mine for a little razzle dazzle and it was delicious! I would totally recommend checking them out. It's a great price and a fun cooking night to have with a roomie, friend or whoever you're quarantining with. read more

The Basics: Blue Moon Pizza is a local pizza business in Atlanta. I have visited the Sandy Springs location many times. They have a variety of pizzas in addition to salads and wings. The interior is nice and there is a bar as well. It is a nice spot for a family dinner or a night out and the service has always been good. Things I like: I have always enjoyed the pizza at Blue Moon. There is certainly better pizza in Atlanta, but it is always fresh and made with care. I also have always enjoyed supporting a local Atlanta business. The service here has also always been great and if you are picking up pizza they are extremely prompt. Things I didn't like: Nothing, a great local pizza joint for some solid pizza. Overall, Blue Moon is a casual pizza spot to pick up homemade and fresh pizza.
