The cup here isn't as sturdy as other boba shops that use a plastic film for the top. It was not easy to poke the straw through the lid when it was full, causing a little bit of spillage. The drinks there is very good but their cups and straws need to improve.

Mango matcha w boba - mango puree is thick and tastes like real fruit.

I visit this location at least once a week. Drinks are always consistent, boba is always tasty. I usually get a jasmine milk tea or a matcha variation with boba. I appreciate that there's a kiosk to order while the staff make drinks so orders come out quickly even when it's busy.

Not sure if it was a bad day but I got an oolong milk tea with boba and wouldn't come back for boba! Boba was a bit too soft and the tea flavor wasn't strong and more milky. I'd probably choose somewhere else if I wanted to get boba!

First off, boba guys is my favorite boba. The boba is soft, not too sweet and delicious. I love the variety in choices of drinks. Their dirty horchata is delicious. This location has some seating and is near Japan center. Staff were super nice! Appreciated them

I've been looking for a place that sells HK milk tea and apparently Boba Guys has HK milk tea?? So obviously I had to try it. The HK milk tea flavor is definitely there. It's sweet because of the boba addition I got so I'll try it without boba next time. But it is delicious! My friend got the tie guan yin oolong & he says it's good, but also sweet with the boba addition. The staff work so fast and our drinks were ready once we turned around so the wait was minimal. Very fast and easy for a quick break.

One of my favorite boba spots when visiting the bay. I like that you can customize your drink from sweetness level, ice, and toppings. I got a jasmine milk tea and it wasn't too sweet which was perfect for me.

Pretty standard boba guys. Wait was not long and has seating. In general I like boba guys so can't complain. It's quiet here with one worker in the back on a weekday.

Ordered the hojicha tea latte and lychee tea latte at 12 oz, with boba (add in 85c). I didn't see option to change sweetness or ice levels, but wasn't too big of an issue. Hojicha was a little grainy, but it was my first time trying anything Hojicha. Was on the sweeter side but not overpowering. Healthy amount of boba with the standard option, there is an "extra boba" option too!

Boba guys has become a go to whenever I'm in Japantown. After having strawberry matcha at several places in SF and beyond, I love that the strawberry has some chunks and is not just a puree. The matcha has a strong flavor, and the way I get it now is a perfect sweetness.

Boba Guys I've lived in San Francisco all my life and have had boba sporadically, but actually never tried boba guys until today. I've always seen it around, but today I got to get a taste for myself. I got the Strawberry Matcha Latte w/ boba: their signature and most popular drink. Organic premium-grade matcha from Tea, choice of milk, and their house-made strawberry puree. I made sure to get less ice and sugar. The ratio of boba to drink was amazing. The boba was also some of the better boba I've had. After mixing the entire drink together, it tasted soooo good! glad to finally try this place, will be back for the other options!

I visited this location of Boba Guys the end of 2023 and we each got an iced lychee oolong tea. The store was very modern, clean, and well-organized. As far as I could tell, the menu here is identical to those at other Boba Guys stores in SF. However, there was a much more extensive display of snacks at this one compared to the location in Union Square. The ordering process was seamless and our two drinks were prepared promptly. I'm a sucker for fruit teas so I liked my lychee oolong. However there was nothing so special about it that's encouraged me to return since last year, especially given the plethora of boba options in SF. I would stop by if I'm in the neighborhood again but I wouldn't go out of my way to grab a drink here.

This is always one of my favorite places for strawberry matcha latte! I'm normally not a matcha person and this is the only drink I can have matcha in. It's perfectly sweet and the stacked layer of colors is aesthetic. I wish they gave a bit more boba in the drinks :( However, the straws are a bit frustrating to use since they break so easily!

I got a strawberry matcha latte with mochi (substitute oat milk) my Girlfriend got the brown sugar Hojicha latte with aloe. They both exceeded expectations on flavor and I'll definitely be coming back for another one. The place was busy but our drinks were ready when we showed up (ordered ahead). It was a nice pit stop for our Saturday out and about. Clean, more than enough seats available, staff was quick with the drinks.

I walked about 30 minutes and arrived too early as the store did not open until noon. I walked out to Geary Blvd. and there was a lot of construction as I explored the area. I returned with only 14 minutes left before opening. The lady opening the store was raising the blinds on the windows facing the street. She unlocked the door shortly after noon and directed me to the kiosk to order. I knew I wanted the peach oolong milk tea at 75% sweet with no ice. It had been quite windy on the walk. Because of a coconut allergy in the family I had to ask if the popular mango pomelo sago had any coconut. Unfortunately, it has coconut (milk or oil?). As soon as I heard coconut, it was a no go. I wasn't familiar with pomelo and the lady told me it was like grapefruit. I still wanted to order a mango drink and went instead with the mango smoothie also 75% sweet with less ice. The customer following me asked about alternative milks which they do have. I overheard that they have oat and almond milk. Both drinks were excellent. The milk tea was not too sweet and I appreciated the peach bits in the drink. The mango smoothie was really creamy.

The taste of the drink tastes very off-putting - it definitely does not taste like a jasmine green milk tea, but like a burnt tea with milk just added to it. My friends who are not that picky with boba tried it too and did not like it at all. We only took a few sips before tossing it.

There was only one worker and he seemed annoyed, like he didn't want to be there. I ordered black milk tea with boba and it was very bitter (probably over steeped), yet watery at the same time. I don't normally drink a lot of boba, but vacations are for treating yourself, right? The crème brûlée milk tea was basically dessert in a cup. You could actually taste and chew on little bits of torched caramelized sugar throughout the drink. The boba itself was perfectly cooked, soft and chewy. And then there was pudding in there too! Every sip had me going "ooh" and "ahh" as I discovered another delicious texture. The only downside was that the drink only comes in one size, and it was a bit too much for me. I was genuinely sad that I couldn't finish it. That's one of the reasons I don't order boba very often. I can eat way more food than I can drink liquid for some reason. She explained there may have been a mistake with one of the selected options in the app and even acknowledged that she understood if the drink could not be remade, but wanted to ask anyway. The reason for this review is to address the lack of consideration and customer service from the hispanic male staff member working that night. Instead of listening to the concern, the staff was dismissive and rude, repeatedly saying things like "all I do is press these buttons" and "this is what you ordered," without acknowledging the customer's experience or concern about the quality of the drink. Although the drink was eventually remade, the staff did so while visibly frustrated, slamming cabinets and displaying negative energy throughout the interaction. It created an uncomfortable experience, especially considering how polite and understanding the customer had been. Customer service and basic courtesy matter just as much as the product itself. Unfortunately, after witnessing that interaction, I do not plan on returning. Please teach your staff to be polite and understanding.

XD The owner has probably seen the whole saga unfold from beginning to end and is still here doing what they've always done - running a great local business. That's honestly something I respect. Businesses come and go, trends come and go, friendships come and go, but some places just keep showing up every day and serving their community. To this day, I still stop by for their watermelon juice. Sure, I could make it at home for less money, but sometimes that's not the point. Basic economics: support local businesses that provide value. They earn a living, customers get products they enjoy, employees keep their jobs, and the community benefits. Everyone wins.
