To start, Kennyard made my experience pleasant. He provided amazing customer service and was extremely helpful. He thoroughly explained everything about my car with me. I really appreciate that because it's rare - especially when it comes to car repair shops! However, if you're on a time crunch... this isn't your place. I spent a whole Saturday waiting around just to find out 7 hours later that they didn't have my part. Once my part was ordered, I was told it would be additional to the original price. I will try to keep this brief... I had to get my Prius smogged. I initially went to a gas station that also operates as a smog check place but they were unable to smog my car because there was a security plate over my catalytic converter (it was stolen a couple months ago). The man at the gas station basically told me to find someplace to take the plate off and then come back and get my car smogged. I work long hours and don't have time to be running around, so instead I decided to try Chapman auto Center. They were able to smog my car, no appointment needed. Not only were they extremely friendly and professional but they were quick and affordable as well. The smog was only $7.25 more than the lame smog place at the gas station. ALSO, The owner gave me a gift certificate for $10 to come back if I need any additional car services. I will definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend this place! read more

I was very pleased with their service. The owner was extremely friendly. He sat with me and we chatted for what seemed like hours. The shop was impeccably clean. The other guests were a lot of fun to talk with also I was served sparkling water and a chocolate shake. Which was kind of weird for an auto repair shop usually they just have Dale coffee. They had a fine array of popcorn and water choices. They have a very clean nice bathroom and very good air conditioning. This is my second review for This Auto Shop. The first time I was really pleased to express my appreciation for their nice work And so I kept going to them for my other cars as well and never questioned about the charges since I had my full trust, because of the nice customer care response from the Owner . Now, I had to take my first car back to them, on March 10, 2023,as it was not starting even though they replaced the Alternator on July 7, 2022. They asked me to take the car back to check and fix it if needed which I did. The Manager Called me back and said the battery was bad and it needs to be replaced and will cost me $199.00 for a new battery. Trusting their previous services I agreed for the new battery. I Got my car back on the same day as they replaced the battery and I paid the invoice without reviewing the total charge as I had to rush back home for some urgent care. When I got time . I reviewed the invoice for this service and found that They charged me $199.00 for the battery and $71.90 for the installation of battery ( which included $20.00 Discount for Senior Citizen.) I was really surprised for this outrageous charges so I called the Manager thinking there might be a mistake, but he said it was correct charge even though I said he never told me before of any other charges and asked him to look again and if needed talk to The Owner to review and let me know. He said he would and let me know , but sadly he has not called me back. I think the Owner never have been informed about this or I might have mistrusted some of the Managerial Staff. I read more

Back in January, I got a dash notification reminding me it was time to get my brakes done (no noisey or squeaks, all functioned great). I looked up the best-reviewed auto spot in my area, and sure it was pricey but I told myself it was worth it if so many people were happy. My brakes got changed in a timely way, and all was good about the service. But now... my brakes are SOOO LOUD, that it is embarrassing. I was at Chapman Auto Repair about 3-4 weeks ago and over the course of the several hours i was waiting, multiple customers walked in and never put a mask on. The staff didn't request they do so either. During these moments, the customers engaged in lengthy conversations and chats while not wearing a mask. In addition, the room was rather small and hardly ventilated. In addition, during this many of the staff was not as well, and i don't mean simply removing the mask to eat. This place is great for auto repair and has done a wonderful job with my car, however I really felt the need to report this for the health and safety of the community. I'm not usually one to try and get others in trouble but this is regarding something very serious so I feel the need to. No. I am not one of those people who believes you need to wear a mask every single second but over the course of the hour i was there, it was pretty clear that the business is very very laid back on the policy. I hope this business continues to follow the state guidelines and put the health of their staff and customers first as they are a great auto repair shop and would hate to see more people reporting them for such silly mistakes. read more

I was on a road trip when my battery light came on. Found these guys on yelp and read the reviews. It was late but wrote explaining my issue. Was surprise to get a quick answer that if I could get the car to the shop early they could figure out what I needed. Long story short I got to the shop, they took my information and had the issue diagnosed in about 30 min. No surprise the alternator was going out. The fixed the problem and had me back on the road by mid afternoon. These guys were great. They turned around my repair same day and kept my trip nearly on schedule. Just noticed this response: 10/9/2015 On every service that comes in, guests have the OPTION to get a full inspection or to just get an oil change. We always provide a CAR WASH so that does build some value to quick lube places typically don't provide. Most guests request we look over the vehicle for safety and service related items. ASE certified technicians will look over your car and take pictures of items that need attention and will only recommend items that are needed. If a guest just wants an oil change and nothing else looked over then we do offer that also but most guests want to find a shop they can trust for all their auto needs. We keep a history of recommendations and can help get your ride into perfect shape for the long term. Just want to Clarify: 1.I did not ask for the inspection just a standard oil change. 2.The car wash should be complimentary or ask if the customer if they even want their car washed (It was so long ago I don't even remember if it was washed). 3.I never received any pictures or recommendations. It is a shady car shop and I will never be dumb enough to return. A standard oil change even with a car wash should not be over $80. read more

Ok so I was sucked in by a $20 oil change coupon I got in the mail, I live relatively close to this shop so I said ok. I had made a 3pm appointment for it, I got there they said it was going to take about two hours. Two hours for an oil change? Ugh I said fine but not really happy with that so they have this shuttle but the guy was out so I had to walk home from chapman and Batavia to lemon and Palm(not happy about this either, but did it anyways). Two hours had passed and they didn't call so I called and they said my car was ready. They picked up my husband cause I couldn't pick it up and when he got home with the car I noticed a bunch of oil hand prints on my car. I mean if your going to work on a car and you know you have oily hands hmm maybe you should think to yourself "hey let me get a clean rag so I won't get any gunky hand prints on the car" but no you didn't think that cause you guys don't care about anyone's car. This place is horrible and honestly I felt like the people that worker there were snobby. I go in with a question, I'm ask what can I help you with? Mid sentence I get rudely directed so somewhere else. A young guy helps me, we go outside to check my car, then we go back in while I was talking I was told by another guy to go stand over there and Points. In short, they quoted me for over $3600 of work and I went elsewhere for $300, and my car is running perfectly now. I brought my car in because my check engine light was on. They ran a diagnostic test on my engine and shared the codes with me. The code was p2261, my turbo wastegate had seized. I was told that my entire turbo needed to be replaced and would cost just over $2400. I was also told that my coolant was too acidic and needed to be replaced and my transmission fluid was dark and degenerative, which also needed to be flushed and replaced. Not as urgent but also recommended was to replace my brake fluid and my spark plugs (which I had just done 6 months prior). In total, I was quoted for $3600 of work on my car. I ended up paying for the diagnostic (normally $120), which I was given a discount on if I wrote a yelp review afterwards (here I am), so I paid $90. Throughout all of this communication, I told them that I was a college student, which is why I was not able to do any of the work immediately. They offered to call my parents since they would be helping me out, which I declined. They kept pushing, asking for my parents phone numbers and names so they could talk to my parents, which made me very uncomfortable. I found the pushing unnecessary since I offered to give my parents the number of the shop and they would call when they had a chance if they felt necessary. In the end, I consulted another mechanic since it was such a large quote I received. He told me that my entire turbo did not need to be replaced, just the wastegate valve, which the part could be ordered for only $180, not $2400. I also asked him to check my coolant, which he said was completely fine, and my transmission fluid should not need to be replaced for another 12,000 miles based on my car make and model. I ended up asking to have my transmission fluid flushed anyways as preventative since I bought my car used and did not know its full maintenance history, and my mechanic said it was the CLEANEST transmission fluid he has ever replaced, the OPPOSITE of what I was told by Chapman Auto Repair. I am disgusted that they would try to take advantage of a local college student with hopes they could convince the parents to pay for unnecessary work. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

I went in to see if my metal splash shield could be fixed because it became apart and bent due to me parking too close to the cement curb. Alan and Jesse helped me and they were really amazing.
