Anyways she was so helpful, professional and made it easy for me to schedule my service I usually hate calling in to get my car serviced at places because the sales people always pressure you and are always rushing to get to the next call. She made me feel comfortable and provided answers to all my questions and concerns and I dropped my car off and was in and out within a few hours. Chapman Auto provided me with the greatest customer experience I've ever had at an auto repair shop! During the week before I paid them a visit, my car was hit by a flying projectile, subsequently damaging the splash guard. Went to Auto Zone for a "do-it-yourself" quick fix, but that didn't quite work out (does it ever, really?) That's when I looked up Chapman Auto and was kindly greeted by Joe, a service rep with Chapman Auto. He offered to remove the splash guard on the condition of us ordering the part for replacement. I agreed since his initial thinking was that the price would be around $260. When we found out that the part was actually close to $400, he called around for a refurbished part while I spoke with John Pascal, the owner of the shop. They both agreed to remove the splash guard for free and with no pressure, leaving the door open for me to purchase a new one at my own discretion. Heck, the owner even offered me a free car wash! These guys have my lifetime business so long as I live in SoCal, as I can honestly say that visiting your shop was the best treatment I've ever had at an auto repair shop. The previous business the held that place in my heart is Juke Auto in Austin, Texas from back when I was an undergraduate (am originally from Houston). Their slogan is "Honest, Progressive, Kind," which matches well with John's "Owner and all around nice guy" mantra. There's a reason they were "Voted Best of Orange" ;) read more

I gave this place a call before I came in and got a quote for a smog check! I spoke with a gentleman over the phone that gave me a reasonable quote for a smog check. Brought my VW in the same day, walked into the office and was greeted by Joe and Alan. Even one of the other guys, Les came in to say hi! When I arrived, the signs for steps to follow regarding safely were clearly outlined. Upon entering the facility I was greeted by Savannah and when I mentioned yelp messages, John quickly acknowledged me and said he was the one I had been interacting with and introduced everyone. They did a great job! I had to get a starter replaced on my Honda Civic 2012, at first when it was ready I took it home and it failed on me again. I called to ask for help again and they we're glad to take a look. They mention the teeth are not engaging and it made a loud grinding noise. They ordered the parts and replaced a new starter but different brand and it starts like a pro. No additional charges for the second starter! These guys won't stop till the problem is solved and I will be coming again :) read more

I was in an accident and the collision center that was used had pointed out some issues with my car. Apparently FIRESTONE has not done one thing that I was paying for. They left my brakes to to bare and tell me it was good to go. I was very upset and I had schedule a service with another firestone. When I did that, I realize the whole company is shit. I was recommended Chapman Auto Repair of Orange by collision center used.... I live in Newport, Its a little ways away but I decided to really give them a chance. The second I called, Savannah had answered the phone so pleasantly that it assured me that I was going to like this place. After explaining what happened with Firestone I really needed to find some kind of Trust in a mechanic. Savannah had explained to me Chapman's process of servicing, the warranties included and the competitive pricing. I was sold and scheduled an appointment. I dropped my car, and was greeted warmly by Savannah. She had the mechanics do a thorough inspection and came to me with the best pricing options available. I went there this morning and I left very happy. I called ahead to make sure they worked on Volvos and I told them what I needed. The person on the phone explained that it could be one of two things. He gave me an approximate cost and time estimate for both, and he was right, so there were no surprises. A mechanic named Ronnie worked on my car and he's a dream. He was extremely helpful, he took the time to explain what he was doing, answered all my questions, and he even took the time to look at a couple of potential issues for me. A couple of weeks ago I left a 1 star review for Chapman Auto Repair and clearly detailed my reasons why. A few days later I received a phone call from John, the owner. He expressed sorrow about the experience I had and totally owned the fact that his staff screwed up the eval of my Wrangler. Didn't try to make excuses and was very transparent about the fact that it was a bad customer experience for me. He sent me a check that refunded my cost for the diagnostics performed and then some... Let me just start by saying that these guys are friendly sharks. I needed an oil change and brake check in preparation for a trip. My normal repair mechanic was fully booked for the week, so I called in the day before and they told me they accept walk ins, first come first serve. Got there at 8:30 AM and was told to go home because it would take a couple of hours. Fast forward to 12:30 pm, I called to check in on the progress of my car. They didn't even do anything for it yet... told me they would call me in an hour. An hour passes by, still no word from them. I had to call them back, which is when they told me I needed all my brake pads and rotors repaired along with a bunch of other stuff, like a worn belt and AC filters, etc. Told me they would call back "in a bit" with an estimate. 30 minutes pass, and again no word. I call back once more. They gave me an estimate of $1200 for all of my brake pads and rotors and said something along the lines of "make a decision in the next 15 min because we need enough time to make repairs before we close", knowing that I needed my car the next day for my trip. Ended up getting my brakes repaired for that exorbitant price. Picked up my car next morning, with the guy making small talk along the way. Basically, if you're ok with paying dealership prices with guys who ghost you, in a friendly way, by all means come here. I likely will not. read more

Okay my friends at Chapman Auto repair...I told you I'd come through with a great review. :D End to end this was a great experience. Alan and his very friendly colleague (I'm so sorry that I'm blanking on your name) made me feel so welcome. It was like chatting with friends while they checked me in. As Alan was entering my info and asking some preliminary questions, his colleague and I chatted about his upcoming wedding and mine last year. While I waited for my husband to come get me they chatted with me and made the time fly (but when I pulled out my phone to answer an email they also took the queue). Within an hour I got a digital link to a report that showed me pictures and information about the issues they'd found on my car. Sadly I had more problems than I knew and the day went from a 300 dollar day to a 1100 dollar day. While no one likes to have that happen it was obvious that their pricing on each of the problems was fair and they found a safety issue my dealership straight up MISSED. In fact the reason I came was because the owner, John, promptly responded to my request for a bid and his price on my first issue was 200 dollars lower than any of the other five bids I got. He even got me in for a Saturday appointment same week. When I came back for my car the same friendly faces greeted me and asked about my day while they got my paperwork. A customer had even brought in cookies (I see why - these are really the nicest people) and they offered to share. While the piggy bank took a hit on this one, I feel like I got pricing that was more than fair and better service than I could have imagined. I also got a three year guarantee on everything they did. I even got a follow up text from the owner the next day with his cell number to call if there were any issues. Color me impressed. I'm glad I made the trip from Laguna Hills to Orange County. I don't think I'll go anywhere else for service on my car ever again. read more

I took my car in first thing in the morning because I needed new brakes and was given a ride back home by their courtesy service with the most kind and informative driver! A few hours later I received a message complete with photos of my car and the issues they found. I gave them a call to discuss the issues further and decided to go ahead with the work! I explained that I had plans that day and didn't realize all that work would be needed so without hesitation, they sent the driver back to get me and took me to enterprise. They paid for my car rental for the day so that my plans didn't have to suffer while I waited on my car. They are extremely professional and a joy to do business with, and best of all they are very close to my home.
