My weekend visits aren't complete without a breakfast bagel sandwich! The bagels are fresh, the bacon crispy bacon is delicious, and the delicious , warm banana nut muffin is enough for two people. The salad selection is wonderful as is the coffee. The counter staff was welcoming and cordial. The even gave a miniature, working tabletop size Sabrett's hot dog cart! Can't wait to go back today again! It's always nice to walk In to a clean , updated bagel shop. It was my favorite breakfast stop on our way to the beach with the previous owners and it will stay that way with the new owners! Great job! This used to be bagel with a Schmear which was the BEST!!! I was a little hesitant to continue coming here when I realized they switched management but thought I'd give it a try. I've gone several times to order the same thing I've been getting for years and it is just not good. They raised the prices while disturbing the quality. The minute you walk in the staff doesn't have a flow, they're constantly disagreeing with each other while you're trying to place your order. Not a professional environment. My bf who eats bagels (I dont) says they are HORRIBLE and taste old...not good if that's your claim to fame..I'm turned off by all the crumbs in the display case of bagels when I go into order. The coffee is good. Omelettes are excellent...the 2 owners: the lady is much nicer..the man...hes verbally insulting to his staff in front of customers and just doesnt have his stuff together. He CONSTANTLY messes up orders and has a horrible attitude...Patty held a high standard and that's why the shmear was such a success in Boca. I myself still go once in a blue moon because its convenient but my bf refuses to eat there as the bagelbar has lost his business due to bad bagels and slow and poor service. I placed my order and when I went to ring up the person who I am assuming is the owner or manger treated me with such disrespect. I was waiting until he was done checking out the person in front of me and he kept waving me over but I was waiting to move forward because of social distancing. When it was my turn I walked forward said hello and he didn't respond. He didn't even tell me the price of my order. He put his hand out for my card. I gave it to him and then when he was done he threw it down on the counter. Then he threw the receipt down for me to sign but didn't give me a pen. When I asked for one he rolled his eyes. I absolutely love bagel sandwiches and this place has one of the best I've had. What stands it apart from the rest is those flagel. It's a thinner bagel and makes the sandwich much easier to eat! I have lived in Boca for the last few seasons and I stumbled upon Boca Bagel Bar. I must admit this is the closest bagel to NYC aside from everything else. I was actually in the shop when they took the freshly baked roasted beef out of the oven. Staff was very pushy from the moment we walked in until we got to the counter we were asked twice what we wanted, and they kept asking as we were looking at the menu. We felt very pressured to order. This is a decent bagel, but certainly not a great one. We all hear many reasons why bagels in South Florida are not as good as NY/NJ but I think humidity is the main one. The flavor here is good, but the crispy crust is definitely missing. Real bagel fans don't want to toast a fresh bagel to experience it. Another factor that weighs heavily is the lack of color. Leave the bagels in the oven a few more minutes and let them brown. Pale bagels lack flavor and texture. I'm from New Jersey and I've been coming to Florida for 20 years and I've never tasted bagels as good as this in Florida. They are Crunchy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. Their breakfast selection it's amazing I had a Sobo which is a sausage egg ,cheese and a hash brown on a bagel and my wife had the nova sandwich on a bagel with scallion cream cheese, capers and onions. She still cannot stop talking about her nova sandwich. The staff was so helpful and friendly and accommodating and even though they were so busy on a Sunday it amazes me how quick We got our food. I never write reviews but I am so impressed with this bagel shop and their selection especially since Florida is not known for good bagels and me being from Jersey I have the best bagels at my disposal. Just walked in and ordered, and watched the cook and the owner with their masks off, eating food right off the grills with their fingers. What makes it better, the owner was sniffling and talking right over all our food. We asked the owner why he had his mask off and he said he has heart problems and "gets tested every two weeks." If that's true, wear a mask and get tested more often than that! I don't need your spit in my food and I definitely don't need your COVID in my food. When it comes to their breakfast their menu has something for everyone even my picky three year old! As for the deli options you think it and they will make it. I always love trying something new but my favorites are the smoked salmon sandwich - the salmon is always fresh and portion is quite generous, the veggie omelette and the chicken caesar wrap never disappoints. I typically avoid dressing but here it is light yet still extremely flavorful! As for sides, the potato and macaroni salads are my favorites. I truly can't say enough about this place. Had a rock in the capers. Owner wouldn't even call me back when I followed up after emergency dental procedure or help make sure the supplier knew. Causes a lot of damage to my teeth. Cracked a tooth, damaged another and I now have nerve issues and had to repair entire side of tooth. He was talking to me when it happened. Showed him the rock that came out of my Mouth. He was just irritated I yelped in pain. Dentist confirmed it was a rock and tried to drill it even. Was horrible and they didn't care at all. He offered me a $10 bill and wanted me to disappear. I wanted empathy. Was in tremendous pain and now I will have ongoing issues in my mouth. Not a fun place to have damage . :-( read more
