This is my second time here at Bolay in Winter Park, but I've raved about it so much that my husband wanted to try it out for himself. After a long day of shopping, we stopped in Winter Park for lunch. Upon entering, my husband says, "wow, it's nice and quaint." I order the small bowl and he goes for the gusto and gets the big bowl. The customer service was great, the food was fresh, and here's the kicker....the bathroom was PRISTINE! I'm a sucker for great customer service and clean restrooms, like...seriously. This is my favorite quick service lunch restaurant in the Winter Park area - I crave it constantly! I hate healthy food and I'm generally more of a cheeseburger or pizza type of girl but this place has won me over. Forbidden black rice is SO good. Allegedly it's healthier than white rice but all I know is it tastes better than white rice. Lemon chicken and steak are both awesome. The steak isn't burnt or dry like most other "bowl" places in town. The cilantro pesto sauce is the best! My only gripe is the green beans are by far the yummiest veggie they have and they only carry them "seasonally". In July they told me green beans were "out of season" (um no). Also I do find the number of sauces and veggies they carry to be relatively small. Lately my bowls have double mushrooms because I can't find another appealing option. My picky husband can't find anything to eat here so I end up eating here solo. He loves Too Much Sauce and finds plenty of great options there so it's a bummer this place doesn't have more variety. read more

I finally decided to check this place out after seeing a friend constantly post about it and I'm so glad that I did! With so much possibilities of mixing different flavors, this is a great alternative to Chipotle. The staff was very friendly and welcoming which makes this place that much better. I went with a large bowl with jasmine rice, lemon chicken, bbq chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, minted tomatoes, and a side of cilantro pesto sauce. The different combination of flavors were awesome, but the rice needed to be mixed with food because of its plain and boring taste. I had a few undercooked pieces of the bbq chicken which was a little off putting, but the majority of it was cooked so I didn't bring it up. Overall, I had a really good experience and will definitely be returning. I'm excited to try something different next time! read more

My family loves Bolay. We are regulars at the Lake Nona location and we've never had any problems or complaints. Today my daughter, myself, and her friend who has never been to Bolay stopped into this location mid afternoon before a graduation rehearsal. I ordered a small bowl and when it came to veggies I wanted a little corn and a little zucchini. I was told I could only have 1. I again asked could I have just a little of both not a full portion of both. I have never had any issues ordering this at the lake Nona location before. The girl again tells me " only one veggie" and looks at , I think was a manager. He said go ahead and give it to her this one time and they both seemed very irritated that I asked for a little of each. This rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't looking for anything extra, it was 1pm and not a lot of people in the store so there was plenty of food. To me, there was no reason for the employee or the manager to give such attitude. I didn't eat much of my bowl and asked the cashier if I could please get a Togo bowl for my food. She gave me attitude and rolled her eyes. Went here for the first time last week and not sure what to expect. Similar up as a Chipotle, where you go down a line and pick your base, protein, toppings and sauces. I got the cilantro noodles, miso tofu, broccoli, tomatoes and cilantro. Both my friend and I barely spoke to each other because we were scarfing our food down. So good and fresh. This is my new favorite place for healthy food. My wife and I decided to have lunch here after seeing it on Instagram (the power of social media) and it did not disappoint. The first thing we were met with was a very happy and helpful staff. They were patient enough to explain how things work to us first-timers. My wife got the Baja bowl and she ate it all, this is a feat because she usually takes something home. I had the two protein bowl with Orange Basil Quinoa, kale salad, potatoes, broccoli, BBQ chicken, pork and a Pesto Sauce. It was a lot of food and the taste was amazing. The Brocolli was cooked perfectly; not too soft, not too hard and the meat was moist and flavorful. The staff was an added bonus. Everyone including the manager and managing partner were friendly. The way they cook their tofu is perfect for tofu-beginners. - Surf 'n Turf all day! That shrimp is worth the up charge.... - The portions are incredible, I mean dont get me wrong, I can take down a large bowl on my own. BUT I can easily spread it into two meals. The only complaint is the handcrafted sodas, I found that I didn't like any of them. If Bolay could come to Downtown Orlando or Sanford, I'll see you there every day. I changed course as I remembered this place. My first visit. I did not have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised to find a nice selection of fresh build-your-own-bowl ingredients. Check the menu photos to discover the base, veggie, and protein options. I chose cilantro noodles (a cold option), green beans, mushrooms, and the lemon chicken. I chose the the carrot ginger sauce to accompany my dish. I'd first like to say that, when I got everything home, I literally wanted to drink the carrot ginger sauce when I tasted it. I was good, though, and poured it all over my dish after I tasted the individual ingredients. The whole thing was tasty. I was pretty hungry, so I regretted not ordering the large for $2.70 more. The small would have been sufficient for me with a side salad. The staff was quite patient with me being a first timer. I'm looking forward to trying more combinations of the tasty looking ingredients.
