Excessive wait time for food. I believe we waited roughly 40 mins for our chicken wings to come out. Then they forgot our appetizers and we waited another 8mins or so for that. The chicken was decent. Not the best I've had but pretty good. I had the spicy which was bearable and my friend had the soy garlic. Both had a huge sodium content but regardless, we ate it. $50 for 1 small combo 1 small soy garlic wings 2 appetizers. I've gotten take-out from this location twice. I like how they have parking outside so it saves me a lot of time when I go to pick up my food! My first experience was alright. The chicken tasted pretty good for the price (cheaper than Mad for Chicken but def not as crispy). Sadly, the fries were soggy by the time all my food was ready so it was not as enjoyable. I also got to try the popcorn shrimp, which I do recommend! My second experience was a lot better. I split a large combo between 3 people and tried the seasoned fries again and they were much crispier this time around! Definitely redeemed itself. This bonchon is like soooo goood! I don't know what they put in that seasoning/sauce but it's bomb! They have enough seating inside for an adequate amount of people. If it were up to me though, I would just probably call ahead to order, and then pick it up in the store. Oh, they also have their delivery option available as well. The orders here take about maybe 20 to 30 minutes here if they're busy, which they seem busy a looot. Honestly though, you must try this place if you're in the area! I follow Bonchon on IG and after viewing other reviews I chose to go try for myself. I ordered ahead so I could just run in and out since it was raining outside. When we entered we were greeted by a young man he was friendly and welcoming. It was busy so I had to wait for a few moments but I was fine with that. The guy who helped me was super nice and quick. told him my name and he, I paid we left. Drove home & the chicken was still crispy!!! We loved everything - soy garlic & sweet crunch! Oh I was so bummed out when we ordered the Large half/half wings for Super Bowl Sunday. The chicken was overly dry and the soy chicken was soooo salty. My family was this close to calling to complain and return our order. Recently had called for food here. I was honestly so excited to try this place. I wanted to try their wings but I will probably do that next time. I ordered the Chicken Katzu, which I really enjoyed. The chicken was to a perfect crisp with chipotle mayo & BBQ sauce on the side. The white rice was good and plain. Although I was expecting grilled vegetables on the side, but got a salad. Which I am a little disappointed with but I was didn't mind it. The kimchi was good as well. There was not much to the radishes. This place has a parking lot which is a plus. I walked into a nice clean restaurant which is another plus! My food was ready within 10 mins but only because they weren't too busy since the weather is bad! I ordered the 10 piece soy garlic wings with their seasoned fries. The wings had the perfect amount of seasoning and weren't as sticky as other places I've eaten chicken from in Flushing which is a good thing! The seasoned fries had a sweet taste at first, but after a few fries, the Parmesan cheese they put on them quickly overpowered the sweetness and were also delicious. The soy garlic chicken is tender, juicy, and has an awesome glaze to it, it will leave you licking your fingers. It's so good that I guarantee you will get another order of it. Order a side of sweet potato fries and onion rings, they'll go well together I did try their spicy option, it tasted great; initially you'll experience somewhat of a sweet taste, but then your tongue will lite on fire-I had to wait 5-10 minutes for the spiciness to resolve, if you're used to spicy then def try this. I visited there for the first time the a few days ago with friends and ordered a Caesar's Salad, Wings and Drumsticks. The latter because they were out of Chicken Strips (strike 1). We were told that when we were ready with our orders, we could ring a bell that was embedded into the wall next to our table. A neat feature, I might add. Unfortunately, the bell was either not loud enough or they were too busy to respond on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rings. They finally did on the 4th. I'll let this one go and not strike them on this because they could have just been busy with taking orders or helping other on site customers. For the Chicken orders we asked for half Spicy and the other half non Spicy. This was a biggie for a few of us since most of us like Spicy Chicken. Well, this was a disappointment. The Chicken was not as Spicy as we expected and when I asked for hot sauce, I was told they don't sell the sauce. Now, to be fair, I am not sure if there was a language issue here; meaning the girl did not fully understand that I was merely asking for some spicy sauce to dip our "not so Spicy Chicken" into. In any event, that was a huge failure and disappointment. How could a place that sells Fried Chicken not have Spicy dipping sauce on the side la beyond me. This deserves strike 2 and three. I am not sure if I would return there again. I will have to get my Korean Fried Chicken fix elsewhere unless they fix this glaring issue. read more

Bayside residents: If you are tired of having mediocre food and want to get better food then you should definitely be reading this. I have tried over 10 restaurants in Bayside to Douglaston and so far I have been mostly disappointed by "Italian" restaurants. There is a thriving Korean community and they have some pretty spectacular foods that mostly asians have tapped into. You are missing out, but not for long. Try Bon Chon Chicken. The fish cake soup stew is delicious and spicy. Their fried chicken is delicious too, perfectly crispy and the New York Times made an article about it. It's the perfect bridge for asian ethnic and american foods. Once you've decided if you love or hate Korean food, then you should go on trying more places! read more

I've been at the location in the city. It seems this location in Bayside just isn't as good. I ordered the 10piece 50/50 wings (soy garlic/Spicy), I also got the Takoyaki for the 1st time. My meal came with the pickled radish and some corn with what seemed like some watered down dressing. I really enjoy their soy garlic wings. The Spicy wings were ok but I've had better. The Takoyaki octopus app was kind of drowning in the sauce. The cool thing about the dish was the bonito flakes. It gave the appearance the dish was alive. I did not really care too much for the takoyaki dumplings though. Maybe too much sauce which after a few mins made it more soggy. I really liked the service here. They have a little bell you can ring when you are ready to order. The guy running the FOH was real polite and quick. Parking here is kind of tight. Sometimes you get lucky and can find a spot but the cars are so close to each other. I prefer street parking here. Think I'll stick to the one in the city but not a bad place to try out. read more
