Came here for lunch with a girlfriend. And wanted to try the fresh grouper and shrimp entree. My friend had the snapper and shrimp. Both dishes were very good and fresh but the service was not good. After we ordered our food we notice that all the other tables there were offered bread but us. We patiently waited a bit to see if she would bring it out for us. But she didn't . When I mentioned it to her, her response was "we do not give out bread during lunch time but I can warm some up for you if you want. It will take 7 min but your food is almost done anyway." With that response I just told her never mind. She walks to the back and brings out bread saying "someone must of put one in already" but doesn't bring us small plates to eat off of. We usually love Bonefish but this store in Wesley Chapel doesn't seem to be well managed. We went last Sunday. There were 5 employees at the hostess desk standing around. we were taken to our table and the managers were at the next table eating pizza from another restaurant. Our waiter was doing a lot of standing around with the other servers...never got any tea refills....I got my teriyaki bowl and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Server never came back to the dining room for me to send back so I traded meals with my husband and he ate the chicken while I had his fish. (the fish was great) When the waiter came back and asked about my meal I told him it was TOO salty and he asked "Do you want to take it home?" Seriously? It was so salty we couldn't eat it. He brought the bill and had given us a $5 credit. Um, what? So, service has never been good when we go to this restaurant. May want to steer clear. read more

I needed to find a place to eat that wasn't fast food. Bonefish Grill looked like a cool spot. It was a bit out of the way, even though on my hotel map it looked closer. Bonefish Grill is located in the nicer, suburby part of Tampa. It kinda reminded me of the OC or Scottsdale. The staff were friendly, which is always good when I dine alone for business. Lucky for me, it was happy hour, so I got a yummy cocktail, Mango Sangria for half off. The appetizer was also discounted, so I got my fave coconut shrimp and round it off, I got a side house salad. Like most other Outback-owned restaurants, there are no reservations. Only the useless call-ahead-seating is available so wait times can get very long. In this location, the dining area is of equal size to the bar, so they probably made the wait times worse than they could have been. The food is quite good. Since they specialize in grilled fish, I usually stay within those confines. The Sea-Bass is very nice. The mussels josephine, the bang-bang shrimp and the tuna tataki are all stand-outs for appetizers. Atmosphere is dark and smart casual. Could be good for either date or family night. Service is strange.. our server was a freak about putting drinks on napkins and screwed up our drink order once, but everyone was friendly and prompt enough. Overall, I'd say this place deserves 3.5 stars, but, since I'm in a good mood, I'll round up. read more

Bonefish Grill is one of my favorite restaurants. True to form, this one did not disappoint. I was with a big group for work, so naturally, we knew that the orders would be complex - but this was no issue for the wait staff, who were 100% on top of their game. We ordered approximately 12 different appetizers. They all came out hot and timely. The same with our food. There was a slight delay with some of the dishes - because there was over 20 of us. But the last entrée was served within 3 - 5 minutes of the first coming to the table. Of course, Bang Bang Shrimp was ordered. I am allergic to shellfish, but I was able to order Bang Bang Chicken instead (it's not on the menu, but if you ask them to do so, they'll make it for you). I am very impressed with Bonefish. It is an uncommon restaurant chain. The food is actually reasonably priced for the quality and portions. They have various fresh fish options and sauces to compliment them. A staple which I noticed was on everytable was "Bang Bang Shrimp" you need to try it. We had the Rainbow Trout with mango salsa sauce and the fillet or steak with the corn chowder. At first I was sceptical about their steak but everything was delicious. The service was great, they have alot of options for appitizers. I liked the seared ahi tuna sashimi and of course the bang bang shrimp. It gets crowded very quickly, call ahead. the average wait for non-reservation in 20-30 minutes and longer durring prime times. A great place to have a drink and a satifying dinner. read more

This is for the Bonefish Grill at 25264 Sierra Center Blvd, Lutz, FL. I have always had good meals at Bonefish but I just ate at this location and the food quality was very poor. It will be a long time before I try this again, if ever. I had some Salmon special with a crab topping. Topping was barely there and the Salmon was pretty tasteless. In my opinion, not worth at all the price we paid. Drinks were good. Server was very friendly but service was slow, like it is at a lot of places right now. I can think of quite a few places I could have gotten a much better meal at a quarter of the price. read more

Bonefish, why do you have to disappoint me so?! I've been to this location several times before, but not in the past year. My past visits have been pleasant, a solid 4 star experience. And I'm not even a lover of seafood. I've eaten there for lunch, and dined for dinner, and stopped in for appetizers and drinks during happy hour. But last night's experience leaves a lot to be desired. And it was for dinner at 8pm on a THURSDAY! After joining the Yelp train, I've come to dislike chains, but Bonefish does provide a certain element of ambiance and good food that allows it an exception. Usually. The problem last night was not that I had to wait 10 minutes (which I passed enjoyably at the bar and it went fast) but that they crammed so many people in there that the decibel level was unacceptable. Our tiny table was crammed between two other tables. I think my butt probably went in the other table's dipping sauce as I tried to sit down! Add to that the awkward conversation between a mom and her teenage daughter on the other side and any ambiance was quickly thrown to the curb. :( Food...meh. Drinks...yum. I ordered the pomegranate mango red sangria which was very tasty. My partner went with a Sam Adams, which you can't go wrong with. The bread was fresh and tasty. My caesar salad was blah, tasted like someone plopped some mayo and parmesan on some lettuce and called it a day. My man's salad was fine, but nothing to Yelp about. He ordered the bang bang tacos, which delivered just fine. I ordered a Kobe burger with mushrooms. One word...disappointing. I can't believe I paid $12 for such a poor representation of a burger! Thick cheddar piled on a burger (which they put together very odd...bottom bun, mayo, pickle, tomato, burger, cheese, mushrooms, lettuce, onion, more mayo) that kept slipping out of the bun. Taste was sub-par. Would not order again. Mushrooms tasted jarred or canned, no flavor and very fake tasting. Thank goodness I used a gift card I had been given. She took our phone number to text us while we waited on their sidewalk outside, since she said we would be notified by text when our table was ready... Waited 35 minutes in an attempt to give a little cushion in the time, and nicely inquired as to how much longer we would wait and the hostess said, "Five minutes, tops". We waited another ten minutes (we are at waiting 45 minutes now) and were told, "So sorry, it will be five more". Waited ten more (55 minutes now), asked the hostess one last time and she said, "I don't know when it will be". In the meantime, we saw two families- one a family of seven, on a family of five- *without reservations* be seated before us. ** WILL NEVER RETURN. Poor service before even getting through the door. ** So we left, having never received their text for seating- and went to Pincher's at the mall, where the staff at Pincher's seated us in under ten minutes- despite being at almost 100% capacity- and had a great dinner with exceptional hostesses and a top-notch waistaff, who all help each other and assist with multiple tables so that you have a very short wait time between drinks, apps, and your meal. To top it off, they treated our daughter like a princess and gave her a complimentary dessert for her birthday. Florida: land of the free, home of the chains (especially Tampa, which is home to Bloomin' Brands). Look, I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants. But this chain does it right. (So right, in fact, that on a Friday evening the wait time was an hour. Luckily, the host was kind enough to tell us that the tall tables and patio tables were first-come, first-served, and we were able to secure a patio table in around 15 minutes. Perfect!) Our waiter was amazing, and I wish I had gotten his name. He was really patient with my boyfriend and me and answered all of our questions and made both wine and food recommendations. My boyfriend got the lobster bisque and enjoyed it a lot. I got the ahi tuna appetizer and was not disappointed - so flavorful! Choosing an entree was more difficult but I finally decided on the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. They were so good! (After the tuna appetizer and a few spoons of bisque, I had to pack two of the tacos but they held up nicely the next day.) I love Bonefish. LOVE it. I have never had a bad experience, be it food or service related. Since it was my mom's birthday, I knew where she wanted to eat and that made me happy. Bang-Bang Shrimp-should really be called legal crack. I want to bathe in that delicious sauce. The only thing better is the BBS tacos *drool*. Next was the amazing Wagyu beef dumplings. There's something about the mix of the soy sauce and what I believe is a crispy pancetta that is so intoxicatingly good, I was sopping it up with the bread rather than the pesto and oil. Between the shrimp and the dumplings, I was in heaven. Let's not forget the Patroń margaritas, which made a good meal even better. It was such a great night and I can't wait to go back. I also called and had to leave a message every time and of course nobody ever called me back! I just can't believe that a local company like this one would completely ignore to address an unhappy customer. A few friends had bad experience as well and that is why I am now posting here on Yelp. This is the email I sent on October 23,2017. Good morning, I don't usually take the time to write to restaurants and complain about the service or the food. But I guess I am making an exception today. We went to the Bonefish in Wesley Chapel,Florida. We have been there many times and always enjoy the food, the service and the ambiance. My son actually picked your restaurant to dine at to celebrate his sixth birthday. I just want you to know what happened that evening. I worked in the restauration business for many years in New York, place you may know like Le Cirque, Daniel Restaurant, La Grenouille or Le Bernardin. I understand that anyone can have a bad day but the Restaurant here in Wesley Chapel has changed and I like to share our experience. The Restaurant was half full that evening. First we ordered a soda, a martini and a bottle of wine. The soda was served two minutes after ordering it, the wine came about 15 minutes later but still no cocktail. While the waitress was opening the wine we requested the martini, she blamed the bartender and called someone to get our drink, which was waiting at the bar. My son had the chicken nuggets and they were so crispy and had so much breading that we had a hard time cutting them. We also ordered calamari and your famous bang bang shrimp. They were as usual very good. I decided to order the pad Thai shrimp pasta and my wife had a special. We had to wait a very long time for your dinners.(I do believe in was reheated in a microwave as the pasta were burning hot and the shrimp were chewy and over cooked) . I do enjoy a good pad Thai and what I was served had nothing to do with a traditional recipe. The sauce was brown and had separated, it tasted like barbecue sauce with added sugar. When The waitress came back and asked how was everything, I actually asked her if they brought me the right dish. I told her how sweet it was and that it wasn't a pad Thai or at least the menu's promised traditional pad Thai. She asked me if I wanted another one! Of course I denied it . She did not offer the menu and actually went to talk to her other two table before heading back to the kitchen with my plate...so my wife finished her dinner alone. The waitress also told me that she tasted the pasta and it was the way it has always been served. Even after proving me wrong she did not offer a substitute. The waitress Knew it was my son's birthday but didn't bring a dessert menu or offer a complimentary sweet as we received many time when we celebrated in your restaurant. Of course I wasn't charged for the pasta, but the manager never came to the table to find out what happened. This manager by the way needs to make sure his shirt is in his pants!! He was walking around the dining room with the side of shirt out of his pants, it is maybe because the large ring of keys he had dangling from his belt! Anyway, we used to go to this location quite often, seating outside for cocktails and wine and enjoyed many dinner there but we were so disappointed with pretty much everything that we will wait a while before coming back. Having opened and managed restaurant before I know that if the customer don't talk directly to you, you will never find out why they are not coming back. I am not looking for anyone to lose their job or an apology, We enjoy your restaurant in the past and would love to be able to go back without apprehension. Joe D is a GREAT server! He was able to help me make decisions about my choices. The Saucy Shrimp was amazing-full of flavor and the sauce so delicious, you do not want to leave a bit behind. I think it is considered an appetizer but it is more than enough for a meal. I knew it would be too rich for me so Joe helped me and I got some rice and broccoli. I did bring a lot of the shrimp dish home (husband will enjoy tomorrow) -knowing not to eat all of it at one. I was tempted by Pumpkin Creme Brûlée...Joe said it was worth it and it was. The whipped creme was amazing as well.Very creamy and not an overpowering pumpkin flavor. I found out that my friend had never had creme brûlée before so it was fun to share. My only complaint is at one point in this nice setting, perfect lighting, the music became screaming loud-we could not hear each other. I mentioned it to Joe and he did say he thought it loud as well and he would check on it. It did get slighter lower but overall I really felt it was still loud enough that it wasn't fitting for the setting. Over all a great night! read more

The shrimp was fresh and smothered w a mayo type sauce. The Ahi Tuna Sashimi crust was a little thicker than I wanted but the tuna was still good. The steak dinner was something you'd expect but also can be topped with different sauces. The fishes have different toppings and combinations as you would like. I had ordered the Longfin Tilapia with some Pan Asian sides. I'm not sure why I did that but I didn't think the Chimichurri Sauce would go well. read more

We joined a group of friends here for dinner last night. I was told it was "the best" place in Wesley Chapel (that just cannot be true). I've dined at the BG in other locations before and found it to be a quality, mid-priced place for seafood. There was a 20-minute wait because these kinds of establishments don't accept reservations. That's a problem. Get with it, BG, or you'll be relegated to the Long John Silver class. The waiter, Gabe, was spot-on. The guy knew his stuff and was right there from the moment we arrived until we walked out the door. His style of service (jovial, confident, professional, friendly) was much appreciated. This guy knows his wine, too. He drinks what he sells. The food came out quick enough and everyone was satisfied (to varying degrees). The seafood was priced a bit on the high end, but you get good-sized portions. We did not opt for dessert, choosing instead to order another bottle of the dark Pinot. And, yes, we did have the Bang Bang Shrimp -- doesn't everyone? All in all, it's an OK place. It was a 3 to 3.5 night; I rounded up due to the waiter's most excellent service. Sure, I'd go back. Can I get a "Bang Bang Shrimp" wow, so tasty and a kick. Great as an appetizer to share. It is more of a fish place, but the steak is also amazing. It is juicy and very tender. Comes with two sides, I usually get a caesar salad and their mashed potatoes. You can also choose from different sauces to top the steaks and fish dishes. They have a great variety in the bar. My family and I eat here at least once a week, sometimes more. The food is always fantastic, it's Bonefish, you know what you're going to get. I've been to the Carrollwood location several times this past year, it's close to my office, but each time I've been it makes me appreciate Wesley Chapel that much more. The food is better overall but the service is what keeps us coming back to this location. We go often so we've sat with practically every server. First time experience and not impressed. To start, I think the hostess came in on her day off or hates her job. No greeting and our menus were practically thrown at us. After a trip to the restroom, waiting for approx. 5 min. after that, I we finally got a waiter to notice us in the back. Bonefish Grill is one of my favorite go to places for dinner; I've dined at this location (dine in and take out) more times that I can count. I love their drink specials during happy hour, and the atmosphere is consistently nice. This location is often quite busy...parking can be a challenge and you can expect to wait a while for a table on a weekend evening, however the bar is usually a great place to wait, and the staff are usually friendly and accommodating. I've usually have really great service here, but one one or two occasions I have also had really terrible service, and it had nothing to do with how busy they were. Curbside delivery can also be a challenge (and there is no take out parking here), which is why after my last experience (involved waiting for an unreasonable amount of time without any acknowledgement while numerous vehicles came and went, before finally driving away "hangry") I just don't do it at this location anymore; if I don't have time to dine in, I will opt for something else. Two must try appetizers are the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Ahi Tuna Sashimi...they are both very good and I often order the tuna appetizer as my meal. I recently tried their new authentic lobster bisque and I wasn't at all impressed with the taste or consistency. Half of my life I adhere to a low carb diet (just long enough to lose the weight I gained while living free), and their baked Tilapia Imperial is one of my all time favorite dishes while adhering to this diet. Occasionally the fish can be a little dry or overcooked, but some hot melted butter goes a long way, and the flavor of the scallops, crab meat and shrimp with lemon caper butter is wonderful. I've had several other seafood dishes that were very very good (usually specials). I've also had several of their Kobe beef (Brunch) burgers at other locations, and they were all fairly decent, albeit a little salty. If you are going to dine here, I would recommend ordering seafood. I usually do not order meat here but on my last visit I ordered the 6 oz. filet Mignon, and it was not at all what I expect a filet to look or taste like. It was okay, but it looked and tasted more like a sirloin...when you order a filet, you want it to look and (or at least) taste like a filet. read more

The Thai coconut shrimp I got were left in the fryer way too long and were burnt and inedible. The crab fried rice was again over cooked and tasted burnt. The rice was even mushy. We usually come here for the Hook on Tuesday deal. The Bang Bang Shrimp us technically on sale too. It has also been our favorite. The fish are perfectly cooked everytime. We always get the lemon butter sauce so that we can really taste the fish flavor. The gem we found recently is soft shell crab. The server recommended it for us bc it is only available a few weeks per year. Oh boy, it was yummy. They stuffed the soft shell crab with crab cake. I felt that they overstuffed the shell so the crab doesnt look like crab anymore, like crab on steroid. Not necessary a bad thing, they dont skim on the crab cake on you. I've been to Bonefish about 3 times now but I had never got a chance to sit at the bar and tonight I finally did! I wanted to specifically write this review for the two bartenders; Louie and Valentino. Living in New York City for three years and going to multiple high end bars in the past; these two bartenders were some of the most professional and gracious bartenders I've ever had. Louie had greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome, and was very knowledgeable with the menu and drinks! Valentino had made my martini and I'm a HUGE martini gal and that was by far the BEST martini I've ever had. Keep those two behind the bar!
