Bonefish has been my go to place for years and I've frequented numerous locations. The WC location had become one of our most frequented places, but lately, we have seen its performance drop significantly, both food quality and service. The wife and I stopped by around 9 on a Friday and it wasn't busy. We sat in the bar area and ordered drinks and an appetizer. We saw the bread and the appetizer come out in about 10-15 minutes later, but only after we had eaten them, did I finally flag somebody down for our drinks. It pissed me off because the bartenders were not busy with customers and seemed to be more focused on side work. Anyway, we left and went to noble crust. The last visit, the server only knew the word amazing and seemed to be in her own world. It wasn't amazing!! We lied and said it was but still tipped her well. We always do, regardless. I hope they turn it around because we always liked them. To the manager. Clean the damn greasy floors. I am tired of skating through there. Someone is going to get hurt. read more

And three is generous. We were seated immediately. The waitress was congenial and helpful. We started with the watermelon salad. It was tasty, but stingy with the watermelon (at the height of the season) and my palate did not detect even a hint of the promised salsa verde. The arugula was bright and peppery, the feta a lovely compliment to couple the flavors. I picked up hints of oregano and possibly mint. The feta cream was lacking. I had the fish and chips and the fish was good. The fries were soggy and cold; had the appearance and feel of having cooked in cold oil. The Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos were over-dressed, but otherwise as expected. The tacos are wrapped in a single tortilla each. They could be improved upon if enfolded in a double layer of tortillas. Waitress asked if I'd care for malt vinegar before my food was delivered. . I told her I'd prefer lots and lots of lemon. Dish was delivered with one very small wedge. I requested more from the expediter. Seven minutes and cold soggy fries later, the waitress showed, sans lemon. Five more minutes for lemon. And fries replaced fourteen minutes after plate was delivered. Restaurant was not busy on a Sunday night... Only offered a box or the check after she overheard my complaint to my husband, though our dishes were pushed aside. Service improved somewhat after the tip -we use 20% as our minimal starting point. Waited 40 minutes for a high top table and the. Was told the table was reserved (even though they told us they don't take reservations for those high-top bar tables). The advertised Hawaiian martini was discontinued and replaced with something else but several in or group specifically wanted the Hawaiian. $5 martini Monday's are great. The martinis are worth $5 but not their usual $9- $10. Try the Hawaiian martini, it's light, fresh and sweet! read more

Had a wonderful meal, and a great experience, thanks to server Ryan, who had just the right touch: attentive, yet kept his distance when the conversation mattered more than the food. He has a great sense of service and was friendly and professional. My Lily's Chicken featured a wonderful lemon basil sauce, bursting with flavor. It was served with fragrant Jasmine rice and broccoli steamed to perfection. I will order it again. My dining companion enjoyed her grouper and pumpkin ravioli, which I tried and also found favorable. (Her dish was a nightly special.) Only downside was the pre-dinner stop at the bar. Although friendly-acting, the bartender served my Heineken in the bottle, never offering a glass until I finally asked for one. Worse, my companion ordered a pinot noir, clearly indicating she was not fussy about the brand, saying, "I don't care which kind. Pinot is Pinot." While the house pinot would have been appropriate here, he took her lack of direction as meaning "Give me your most profitable glass of Pinot Noir." The $7 house wine quickly became the $14 variety (x2). Not cool. The barkeep knew I'd appear cheap if I verbalized the obvious and had said what I was thinking: "I believe the lady would like the house Pinot, thank you." Yes, I understand that relating this story makes me look cheap. But so be it. I hate wasting money. So, dining YES+, bar, NO! PRO TIP: Depending on time of day/time of year, the sun can hit inside the restaurant with a fierceness you only see in Florida. Some patrons wore sunglasses to cope with this problem, which was especially bad when the front door opened and let the blinding rays in. Management has made an obvious attempt to mitigate this problem with a sun-blocking screen in front of the main entrance. Still, it can be a nuisance. Take it into account before you accept the hostess's seating offer. read more

Bang Bang Shrimp (5 stars): An excellent apertizer . This is the only outstanding thing we had here. Crab fried rice (4 stars): Great tasting side dish. A bit greasy. Spinach side dish (1 star): It tasted like microwaved frozen grocery store spinach. Ahi tuna (2 stars): not very fresh. Overcooked it. They really screwed up my entree. I suspect that the problem I had with the food that was dried out and cold was because I didn't pay to make my delivery priority, therefore the driver had two deliveries and mine was second! Ordered the swordfish with pumpkin ravioli. When it was served the plate looked like a mess. Clearly had been put together quickly with no thought to presentation. There were 4 ravioli on the plate. Of the 4 only ONE had actual filling. I was surprised and it was obvious that there was something wrong just looking at them. They took 3.50 off the bill because they said the pumpkin ravioli was an up charge. For a dish that was $27 that doesn't seem appropriate but I didn't want to make a big deal about it. Bonefish is one of the closest sit down restaurants to my house - we don't eat seafood so we had never tried it before. We went because we wanted something different without having to go far. I'm so glad we did. Service is wonderful, first of all. Even though choices were limited (only one non-seafood app) the servers and hostesses made it with it. Kids had normal kiddie meals and were satisfied. Hubby and I picked two things to try - I had the fontina chop and he had the chicken with spinach & goat cheese. The chop was outstanding! So flavorful and juicy. Chicken was mostly good, but pretty typical. The sides were all veggie based and fresh. I'll definitely go back to try drinks (looks like a fun drink menu). read more

This restaurant got our order completely wrong. When I tried to resolve the issue, the manager insisted that that the order was correct despite having photos of the incorrect order we received. The order was scheduled to be redelivered but then the restaurant cancelled the order 45 minutes after the dasher was waiting to pick it up. We received pristine service from the moment we entered the restaurant, throughout our meal, and even as we were leaving. Our server Adam was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. He knew the menu and answered all my questions. I asked the usual questions and he had great responses. I thought I would have him stumped with the question: "Are the Au Gratin potatoes sliced or cubed?" He answered my question without any hesitation and said "Cubed." Amazing! The Lobster was prepared perfectly! It was sweet, flaky, and a nice portion size. And yes, the Au Gratin potatoes were flavored and tender. My husband ordered the Lobster stuffed Shrimp and finished every bite! The menu items are enticing, perfectly prepared, and ample portion size. Also I normally go with a big party and the tables are always wobbling or tilted and it's uncomfortable I just wish they had better accommodations for larger groups especially with the money they charge. Of course, the moms just kept chatting and the couple just sat there while their children acted like fools screaming at whatever kids scream at. I came here at sat at the bar hoping for better service. The bartenders seemed preoccupied with tasks- loading bar ect and had a decently full bar of people. They also appeared to be in the middle of switching off. I waited a fair amount of time for my drink and menu. Finally when I was ready to order- tender was not familiar with what I was ordering on the Tuesday menu- he said he didn't work Tuesday's. It took about 20 minutes to get my bang bang shrimp, and an additional 30 minutes to get my house salad and lobster. I feel that I should have gotten my house salad first. As by the time I got my food I was full on bang bang shrimp. Food was just ok/ too many spices and seasonings. My lobster was drenched in old bay and much too salty for my liking. It took 20 minutes for me to get my dessert and when I finally did it my ice cream looked like a puddle as you can see from the photo. Decor and ambience was great felt really upscale and everything was moderately priced which was great. They had a great Tuesday special menu with tons of options to get a three course meal. Great food and great brand if you can get waited on at this particular location. Allow me to say that I have been going to Bonefish since it had it's single location on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, FL. I love the food and the atmosphere, but I'm not sure I will ever be back to this store. I showed up at 4:55, and knowing exactly what I was going to order, took a seat in the bar area at one of the communal tables. There were two women at the bar and 1 table of 4 in a booth. The main dining are had maybe 4 or 5 tables taken but no more than about 20 people in total. While there were at least 6 or 7 servers, 1 bartender, and 3 people working at the host(ess) desk, I waited for around 8 minutes until finally one of the hosts, brought me a menu and told me my server would be with me in a moment. I sat there for another 5 or 6 minutes all the while trying to make eye contact with the servers running around. Finally I decided enough was enough and I decided to leave. I went to the host(ess) stand and asked to speak to a manager. Upon his arrival, I laid out everything I have said in this review. He did listen to me and offered to make it up to me, but that was not my point in telling him, but rather to make him aware that there is obviously a training issue that needs to be resolved. One last note. This is the second time I've visited this location by myself and the second time I've had an extremely long wait to even be acknowledged. The ceviche was good, but the fish/scallop/shrimp pieces are too large to put on the chips. 3 of us had the lobster. Mine was very dry. The other 2 were perfectly cooked. We love the muscles. And the bread with pesto is always excellent. The coating on my fish was mushy, they swapped it out for another lobster tail (my meal was a cod and lobster combo). This one was perfect. I should have let them know about the first lobster tail being dry - my fault. The manager delivered the second lobster tail and checked on the table. Very good service. read more

While we eat here often it has been awhile since I updated my review. The updated interior is awesome and cozy. Manager Ray greeted us and made us feel so welcome. We didn't go for the Tuesday specials as we don't eat dessert and have our regular menu favorites. Chose saucy shrimp for our app which we just love. Hubby had Chilean sea bass with no sauce and he loved every bite. I had Lily's chicken which is always good for leftovers for lunch next day and it is truly a standout dish. Chicken with sautéed spinach artichoke hearts and goat cheese in a delicious sauce. So yummy. Bright spot of entire evening was our server Ashley. She says she has only been there for a month but she is a real pro and made us feel like family. We both fell in love with Ashley and will ask for her table on future visits. read more

I have never had a bad dish here. Literally everything I've eaten has been absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I come here very often for brunch as the Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict is to die for!!! And of course, who doesn't love endless Bubbly! The only reason for my 4 stars and not 5 is that the service is always very slow - especially on the Bubbly refills, even when there are (literally) only a handful of tables occupied. Just had3 takeout from this location (I've eaten in here many times before). Grilled mahi and grilled salmon along with bang bang shrimp. First the good: bang bang was good, they served the sauce and lettuce separate which kept the shrimp relatively crispy. The sort-of-good: the salmon was on the the high end of medium but still moist and the mashed potatoes were creamy and filled the compartment where the sides go. No the bad: the mahi was crap. A scrap piece that came apart while cooking and was grilling to a dry stringy crisp. This should never have left the kitchen. The "mashed" potatoes were a small scoop of dry, cold disappointment - seriously, they could not have come from the same kitchen as the other one with the salmon. I was looking for some relief from cooking and some nice seafood. I guess I'm still looking. Three stars takes into account previous visits. This is definitely a two star meal. read more

My husband and I eat at this Bonefish very often. We have never had a bad experience with food or service in either dine-in or to-go orders. We really enjoy the calamari and bang bang shrimp (of course). But everything we've tried on the menu is very good - you really can't go wrong. One of the best times to go is for Sunday brunch which features a $20 "endless bubbles" including bottomless Mimosas, Bellinis, and Sangrias with a brunch meal item (hint: bang bang shrimp eggs benedict!). My wife & son had gone here for dinner just this past Saturday - when they were waiting for the check - a bug/cockroach climbed onto their table! EWW! She was smart enough to cover it quickly with a side plate & she left a note on the paper table cover with a huge arrow pointing toward the plate & wrote "Bug, possible cockroach?!?" DISGUSTING - that's the last time we ever go here. They need to get their restaurant & kitchen cleaned up asap. I told my wife she should have called a manager over & showed him - but they were freaked out & just wanted to get out there asap! NEVER AGAIN! Came here for lunch with a girlfriend. And wanted to try the fresh grouper and shrimp entree. My friend had the snapper and shrimp. Both dishes were very good and fresh but the service was not good. After we ordered our food we notice that all the other tables there were offered bread but us. We patiently waited a bit to see if she would bring it out for us. But she didn't . When I mentioned it to her, her response was "we do not give out bread during lunch time but I can warm some up for you if you want. It will take 7 min but your food is almost done anyway." With that response I just told her never mind. She walks to the back and brings out bread saying "someone must of put one in already" but doesn't bring us small plates to eat off of. Just found that to be a little weird and skimped on the service. Especially when everyone else is served accordingly. read more
