I was getting out of my car & said, "Hi please wait, I need to get my baby out!" He told me, "I don't believe you can go inside. It's age 6 and older for kids? Idk maybe you can check!" I called the restaurant from my car & a man answered the phone to confirm there's an age minimum & mentioned it's listed on the website. Super tiny print age 6 to 106! I'm glad no one was 107!! I saw a Caucasian family of three people, a woman, teen girl (maybe age 15/16 low cut, short mini halter dress, bright orange or pink) & young boy (maybe age 9/10, collared shirt & tan shorts). This stood out to me because they "supposedly" have a dress code as well. I was so disappointed & hurt. This was our only dinner plans for baby's godmother being in the U.S. Also, everything in town was booked. She tried to call other restaurants on the spot. Why not have a section to the side w/ select tables & closed doors? Family friendly. Parents of young children deserve fine dining. If you're gonna bend ONE or two rules, you better bend them ALL! I was blocking the valet entry & decided to turn around & leave. I rolled my window down to ask Chris, "Should I move to the side?" The spinach also was just a little more than one person could eat but not as large an amount that two people really could share and feel they had enough. Had the dry aged both times and it was unfortunately very chewy, dry and bland although it was cooked right (medium rare). We spoke with the manager and was told the supplier has been the same, so is it the chefs? The Waygu A5 however was 5/5, very rich. The lobster with lemon stuffing was incredibly disappointing. It was insanely dry and stuffing felt like fillers. Mac and cheese was tasted like it came out of a Kraft box. Brussel sprouts lacked flavor. The family seemed to enjoy the hash browns. I really hate when the dining experience does not measure up to the price, wished we could have liked it since the family has been coming here for nearly 10 years. I've eaten here a number of times for business and have always left floored by the spectacular service and completely underwhelmed by the food. The filet is my favorite cut here, and it's generally a solid option. The bone-in filet is okay but not quite as good. The ribeye and New York strip have come out with a lot of gristle, rather than the delicious fat marbling that's desired. Amazing spot. Some of the best service I've ever had. When we arrived they offered to take our coats. We were there for our anniversary and they decorated our table with confetti which was sweet. Our waiter was fantastic. I was between two meals and I really appreciated that he just told me which to order instead of giving me a whole speech about each entree because that's what I need when I'm being indecisive, just being told what to do lol. He was so friendly and wonderful! Insisted on taking photos of us at the end so we could remember our one year wedding anniversary :) Every runner was awesome too, everyone always making sure our table was cleared and our drinks refilled. For the food, they first bring out amazing, warm fresh baked bread. We split a Cesar salad which was very solid. For an entree I did the scallops which were cooked well and my husband did filet mignon which he loved. We split mashed potatoes which were great and the portion size huge, we had them the next day reheated and they were still fantastic. For dessert, they gave us a complimentary piece of their ice cream cake. It was phenomenal and truly huge. We had maybe half and only stopped because we felt like we were going to be ill lol. We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary for the first time at Bones. Expectations were high and the staff met it. The quality was very high, but expected based on the prices ($290 with tip and no alcohol). We both had steaks and they were great. Our waiter was Rado and he was fantastic. There was a small snafu with my order, but Rado recovered the service quickly. My steak was cooked incorrectly and once I brought it to his attention, he immediately had a new steak cooked, but what really set him apart from other servers was he came out of the kitchen with his apology and he served me a very nice appetizer and said for me to have this why I wait for my new steak. It was a sausage type appetizer which was delicious and it allowed me to have something to eat while my wife was eating her entree. I have had this problem before with other restaurants, but was never offered this. That went a long way with me. The meal was perfectly orchestrated and spaced out and I never felt rushed like you do in most establishments that want to turn tables over. For many years, I was a big fan of Rays on the River. Our last two times were truly disappointing at Rays so we decided to change to Bones for special occasions and glad that we did. We now have a new place to go for special occasions and business meetings for sure. If you are looking for a place to dine insted of just eating out, no better place than Bones in Atlanta. Had reservations for dinner on Thursday for my birthday and we were there early, so we waited maybe 10-15 minutes. The restaurant itself did not look impressive. It looked like an old steakhouse. I was not expecting much from the restaurant in terms of service or food, but they did a wonderful job! First off, we were seated on a table that was decorated with little confetti for my birthday and I thought that was very thoughtful. The server was very attentive and accommodating. We ordered Wagyu carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan, foie gras with brioche, filet with crabmeat Oscar (medium), dry aged ribeye (medium), sautéed mushrooms and truffle mashed potatoes. My boyfriend asked about the dry aged ribeye and our server said they may just have gotten a shipment of it in and he would go check, and sure enough, it came in, so my boyfriend was able to have it. He was a happy camper. Our server also noted to not be too full, because there's a surprise at the end. Wagyu carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan 4/5: the beef was sliced very thinly and it was very tender. The sauce with the arugula and parmesan were all great together. It was very good. Definitely recommend! Foie gras with brioche 5/5: this was VERY good. Foie gras was perfectly warm and melt in your mouth, there was a fig reduction of some sort and it complemented the fatty richness of the foie gras, and on the bottom was a brioche toast that brought it all together. I should have ordered another one of these, as it was THAT good. Filet mignon with crabmeat Oscar 4/5: steak was cooked perfectly well and LOVED it with the crabmeat oscar. It was a good portion of crab and the creaminess of the sauce, slight sweetness of the crab was a good contrast to the steak. There was some asparagus on the bottom, but we all know that can't compare to the steak or crab! It was good to see some greens on the dish though! Dry aged bone-in ribeye 4/5: there was a good char to the steak and it has some of the dry aged goodness, but it would have been better if it was dry aged for just a little longer. The steak was nice and tender from the dry aging process though. Sautéed mushrooms 3/5: pretty standard side dish. Truffle mashed potatoes 3/5: fluffy and smooth, although it could use a little more truffle flavor though. After we ate dinner, our server brought us a giant piece of ice cream cake for my birthday. It had a lot of layers and it was the perfect way to end the meal. We were only able to eat half of it because it was a really big slice. After that, our server brought us some after dinner mints and a cute little box of shortbread cookies that they make in house. The entire party arrived on-time, however, we weren't seated until 9pm which is the time that the restaurant closes. Which means we didnt eat until an hour after closing. We ordered Two steaks, short ribs, fish, Foie Gras, Grit fritters, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Both of the steaks were undercooked and 4/5ths of the table agreed that the food was underwhelming. Once the steaks came back, they were tough and the potatoes were flavorless. The things we enjoyed were the Grit Fritters, I liked the Foie Gras and the person that ordered the fished enjoyed it. I also wasn't a fan of our primary server, Trevor. He mentioned that he had been drinking and was visibly annoyed whenever we requested something. He also ended up comping the two steaks because he admitted that they were undercooked since he put the order into the kitchen late and rushed the chef to get them out to the table. When orders go into the kitchen late, the entire table suffers because we all got our food late. He gave us free dessert but I personally don't eat sweets so it didn't really mean much to me. The waiters are extremely attentive and are frequently checking on how you are doing. They make great recommendations from their menu and wine list. Speaking of the wine list, it is quite extensive with many choices to select. I always go with the Bone's Cabernet as it is quite tasty. The steaks are absolutely off the charts. They are nearly perfect each time. If you like Bearnaise sauce, you will have to ask for it, but it is phenomenal. As for the ambiance, it can be loud at times, but nothing out of the ordinary. Somehow this was my first trip to Bones in Atlanta. Overall this dinner did not disappoint although the service was a bit off compared to how great I have been told the service is at Bones. Our Party of four sat down and after waiting 22 minutes for a waiter to come see us and take our drink order we were still waiting. Once we finally lost patience we called the waiter over and got things rolling the rest of the experience was good. First, I am lucky as I have been to hundreds of steakhouses in my time and Bones food is up there at the top! All four of us ordered something different and shared, all meals were pretty amazing.
