The main thing to know about this business is that they truly take their time with the creation of their drinks. Meaning, you can be sure that whatever drink you order will be well crafted. Boxx Coffee has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a very nicely designed indoor space. They have several table to sit back, have a conversation or look at your computer, and enjoy your drink. They also have a few tables outside, which is my favorite place to sit. Their staff was super friendly and allowed my friend and I to try some of their different roasts before ordering. I think there's only street parking for this place which is a bit inconvenient. Their drinks were refreshing and at a good price point but both drinks were a bit watery in my opinion. Not a lot of sweeter drink options though, unless you add a ton of sugar on your own. Matcha latte $6.50: 3.5/5 The latte came unsweetened so I went over to the little bar they had with sugars and added as much as I felt was the perfect amount. I asked for light ice and they still filled my cup! The only thing was I did feel like the matcha wasn't too strong, making it feel really watery. Other than that, it definitely still satisfied my matcha craving. Custom mixed roast with oatmilk $5.45: 3/5 the barista mixed two different types of roasts and added oatmilk, the drink was very diluted but the coffee beans genuinely smell pretty authentic. ppl who LOVE coffee and know coffee would rly like this cafe cuz they have a lot of different roasts with fancy names that i dont understand (lol) great price point though for LA. read more

This is a beautiful industrial like coffee shop. It's a very welcoming environment and a nice change of pace from the rush and noise of downtown LA. The two baristas were very sweet through them I got a decaf latte. I sadly had no idea that they served Turkish coffee. I want to get that next time. My latte was wonderful. 5/5 In terms of studying, I highly recommend it. There are lots of seating both inside and outside the coffee shop. They also have wi-fi, a bathroom and they have an outlet. What do I really appreciate about this shop? *There are numerous outlets all over the place! *The WiFi is super solid, especially for virtual work. *A good number of food items of all sorts (from dessert-y items to more sandwich/wrap items) as well as a number of different coffee/tea items both hot and cold. *The restroom has been clean every time I've been! *Overall, appreciate the seating choices from benches to bar seating to tables as well as outdoor seating. Here are the items I've tried out here: *Creme de Pistache Protein Bowl: Pretty tasty and believe this was vegan. Appreciated that it listed how much protein was in here (+10 grams) and overall, tasted pretty good // not overly sweet. *Strawberry Vanilla Chia Parfait: I personally wasn't a fan of this. Lacking flavor and not sweet at all, it does have 10+ grams of protein. The best part was the strawberry fruit bites. *Oji Cold Brew: Solid! Love a good kyoto style cold brew, and it's done well here! *Cappuccino: Also lovely. Comes in about a medium size cup and is just a good mix of frothy and enough of a good kick. Yes, cost will be a bit higher than coffee shops outside of DTLA but think the quality and shop aesthetic makes it worth it! One of my favorite stops for coffee in LA! Their espresso tastes very smooth and they always bring your drink to your table if you have it for there. Very nice baristas, free steet parking is what I usually opt for. Mostly order a cafe latte, flat white or cortado. I rate Boxx 5 stars because I'm not a coffee drinker but I make an exception for the Turkish coffee here. I first found Boxx when I was attending an outdoor event nearby and stopped in thinking they would have non-coffee options; they do, but they're pre-made. I was going to step out but I saw how, for lack of a better word, how artfully they made their coffees and it made me rethink. I had to try Turkish coffee and saw that it was a premium option on the menu. I figured, why not and ordered it. It was made well, strong, with a side of water to help with the fine grounds. The only thing missing from making it really authentic was a piece of Turkish delight, a little sweet to balance out the bitter. I liked it so much that when I was nearby I stopped by again just for their coffee. Again, minus the Turkish delight, it was still delightfully strong, and went over too quicky. read more

I love how aesthetic this cafe is; lot's of windows and natural light, white furniture and plants! I have to say, though, the white furniture was not very white anymore. It could use a deep cleaning. The avocado tartine was just as tasty as it looked. I loved the whipped avocado on there, and even thought it was hard to eat and super messy, it was well worth it. The latte was not bad, but nothing special. I wish the espresso was a bit smoother, especially since they don't use any syrups. They only have sugar and honey available as self serve. My food came out pretty fast and the service was good. A great hole in the wall local coffee shop in the Art District. The original store is from Istanbul with this LA location being its first one in the states. You may see the owner walking around. We were just walking around the area after lunch and found this place. It's located directly across from Eat Drink Americano adjacent to the ArtBook plaza. Parking is all street parking or paid lots in the area. Note this place only accepts electronic payments so no cash! The coffee shop has all your usual selection including in-house fresh roasted beans available for purchase. They do have a small seating area in the front and back of the store if you're looking for a place to chill/study. There are a couple seats outside too at the entrance. A single gender neutral restroom is available next to the drink pickup counter for customers. If you have a dog a drinking bowl is also available next to the front door. We got a mixture of drinks in our group. Hot Tea with peach blossom: All of there teas are steeped to order and smelled super fragrant. This was a good choice for those looking for non-coffee/no caffeine option. You can either get it hot or cold Caffe Latte: You do get your choice of regular milk or alternative milk (oat or almond). I went with regular whole milk. Overall good standard latte with dialed in espresso shot and micro-foam texture. Americano: you again can get this hot or cold. We got this hot. Since the espresso shot is well dialed in you do get the great flavor of the bean. I believe they were using in-house Ethiopia that day. Overall a great local cafe to chill with some friends to chat and get your caffeine fix on and still at very reasonable prices! read more

I was in searched for a new coffee shop to try in LA and I discovered Boxx Coffee Roasters. The moment I stepped into this place I fell in love with the vibe. It's different from all your other coffee shops. When I got to the register, I decided to get the Turkish Coffee which is the drink that they're known for. I love that the barista asked what tasting notes I like so he could use the beans that match my tasting notes. When my drink was ready, I was surprised to find how small my coffee drink was. When I tried the coffee I was amazed at how smooth it was. It wasn't bitter at all. I mentioned how I like floral, and I can taste the floral notes in the coffee. Overall I had a good experience here and would love to try out other drinks they offer. If your in the area I would strongly recommend trying this place out! read more

It was a great experience from setting up, to tasting, to having the different profiles and brew method of the coffees explained to us. We purchased a couple bags of beans and can't wait to check them out. The interior and exterior of the cafe have very chill vibes and are conducive for working and studying. You won't be able to eavesdrop much because whatever space you choose to occupy, it feels like it's own little world and you're just in that. Great furniture, I noticed how much effort and thought was put into this space for working or hanging. It's comfortable and just really good vibes. Nice clean big coffee shop! Good coffee and pastries . This place is big and cozy. They have huge roasted coffee machine in the back. I always come for ice cappuccino on my break. Their coffee is medium toward dark roasted. There are milk alternatives, almond & oat milk. I love their PBJ. I had it 3 times. It was so yummy...bread was fluffy and crispy around the edges...and the jam was not too sweet. The strawberry Rhubarb pie was also yummy. It was not that sweet neither, Pie was flaky, buttery and crispy but not too rich. They have Turkish coffee and it looks great. I'll try that next. Cashless here. Street parking is difficult to find but available. There's also public parking with validation (I heard some customers asked for validation). They also have cute plants for sale from Bozu. For months I've been wanting to try this coffee shop in the Arts District but every time they were already closed. No wonder, they're done by 6pm.... but the lucky day finally came, largely because we inverted our plans, and I'm glad we did. Landed a parking spot in front too. It's very comfortable and warm inside. The fixtures, seating, jazz playing softly in the background, and the friendly staff all point to grab a drink and sit and chill. The padded bench seating in front has little caddy tables for drinks and fits the vibe perfectly. All coffee is roasted in-house, the three varieties mentioned by a barista include Indonesian (fruity profile), Ethiopian (earthy and bold), and Guatemalan (rich and robust). Standard offerings here with the addition of Turkish Coffee served with traditional gear. My sample was a Cortado, the Cuban espresso with equal parts coffee and steamed milk. It's light, especially when made with oat milk, and a very good way to try the coffee. In this case it was a nice medium-dark Guatemalan roast. We're planning to come back during the day soon to read and whatever. With Breadlam down the street and Salt and Straw too, you have lots of options for snacks or lunch (just don't consume that here) before or afterwards. read more
