Cute little place in the heart of Belmont. Definitely a good spot to meet with friends for lunch. Service was great! They have street parking and a very small parking lot. If you're familiar with this area you can find a parking lot across the street and prepay off the app. Pancakes were okay not as fluffy as I'd hope but I was surprised they were not overly sweet. Would order again. The Chilaquiles were not up to par so these are a no go. Loved the Cafe de Olla and had about 3 refills and the "Cocky 12" which is a 12 hr brew coffee and honestly was nothing wow but I was impressed with and appreciated the coffee iced cubes. At 2 pm on a Wednesday, there were just 2 tables occupied so we were seated right away. Kay, our server arrived shortly & took our beverage orders. Got the bottomless cafe de olla & Hubby his oat milk latte. A bit underwhelming, both were not as tasty as they should've been. I didn't taste the cinnamon or the brown sugar in mine & his just tasted like frothed oat milk, sayin, "Yeah, didn't perk me up at all." Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito, I got the shrimp & grits, for sharing, I wanted the pancake flight: strawberry, coconut, pineapple. He says the burrito was a bit bland but liked the avocado component & the salsa. He said it was quite filling because there were huge chunks of potatoes in it. For the pancake flight, I liked the strawberry flavored one the best but if this sampling is representative of their take on pancakes, I will skip them altogether. The pancakes as a whole were not hot when we received them & lacked moisture. They were all on the dry side, would've expected them to be fluffy & moist. Sure, it's personal taste & I didn't particularly appreciate the dried coconut topping. The star of the show for me, which would possibly have me return, is the shrimp & grits. Loved the cheesy grits & plump, juicy shrimps, the fresh corn kernels added a bit of pop. This was piping hot-I appreciated it. This was delicious. Overall, I rounded it to about a close 3.5 because the beverages were very disappointing & the burrito could've used a depth of flavor. Very disappointing. The service was extremely slow. The wifi wasn't working, so taking the order was a problem. When the food did arrive, it was not hot, barely warm. I had the breakfast burrito, which came with beans and rice. The rice was cold and flavorless. The burrito was also lukewarm and quite unremarkable. The beans were the warmest item on the plate, though, by no means hot. My fiancée ordered the eggs Benedict. It also arrived cold and with overdone eggs. The food menu is basically the same everywhere and the food was decent, but it felt like our food had been sitting there for a bit before they brought it out. I ordered chilaquiles. They were good but I do prefer spicy chilaquiles and these just weren't spicy. Personal preference but aside from that they were good. HOLY BREAKFAST!!!! this place has been on my list for a while... and so glad I made it out. I was looking for a place that had steak and eggs and after seeing photos online I was sold. This place is PHENOMENAL. I got the steak with chimichurri and eggs plate and it was freaking amazing. The menu had a small "fit" menu that had calories and the protein pancakes hit the spot!! The table had a tasty salsa that I didn't get a picture of, but it paired well with everything! The vibe here was modern and artistic. The bathroom was a piece of art! Came on a Saturday around 12pm and we were seated within 10 minutes (Hostess was so nice and welcoming). Food was delicious! We sat outside and there was a bit of flies, but other than that it was nice and shady. Our server was nice but once our food came, he didn't come back to check on us, I had to flag him down and also instead of standing in front of us to take our orders, he chose to recline/sit on a wall behind us and take our order from there. We are excited to try this new breakfast spot located on 2nd street. There were 5 of us. We ordered the pancake flight of 3, steak & egg, a breakfast burger and 2 breakfast burritos. We also added a side of bacons with our orders. The portion was very generous. The lemon coconut was my favorite from the 3 pancakes. The strawberry and pineapple pancakes were ok. The steak & egg plate was delicious too. I tried a piece of the steak and it was moist and flavorful. Our guests said the breakfast burger and breakfast burritos were good. The bacons were a little oily. I might try their sausage next time. Service was attentive. They do have a small parking lot for customer parking. That was a plus because it was hard to find street parking. Parking on the lot was free. They offer outdoor and indoor dining. Very beautiful decor thru out the restaurant. Not counting the 1 hour long wait (it's a new spot so that's not surprising so be prepared!), my review centers around the breakfast burrito plate. The burrito has 2 or three chunks of meat. It's mostly cheese and avacado so don't expect much else. It was so cheesy it was runny which was sort of gross. The rice is dry and flavorless and the black beans are not memorable. The best part might have been the nice staff and the "fresh oj" that taste like sunny D. I hope this is a "soft opening" mistake and I hope my second time around will be better. read more
