The Clear Thumb guys were here earlier today and I'm super impressed with the service! They were running a little late in the morning due to a flat tire, and not only did Juan (the lead crew member) call me to let me know of the situation, but I also heard from Nir about the delay. Obviously a flat tire can't be planned and I am very appreciative of how well everything was communicated. When they arrived, they quickly set up and kept me posted throughout the service. I've never had vents/ducts cleaned before so it was nice to learn along the way. Juan showed me the before pics and after when everything was cleaned. I've been noticing for a while that my dryer is taking a long time to dry items and my house seems to be collecting a lot more dust. After doing all the normal things like changing filters and cleaning my dryer to no avail, I decided it was time to be a grown-up homeowner and get my vents professionally cleaned. Diego and his team came right when they said they would. They were very professional and very respectful. They made sure our hardwood floors and area rugs were covered so the equipment would not get any dirt or marks on our floors. They leave their shoes at the door which we greatly appreciated. Diego kept me updated throughout the entire job to make sure I knew exactly what they were doing. He also had me inspect the work when it was finished. Diego took several pictures under the house which showed exactly what they did. And Yes I did go under the house myself later that day...ugh...I hate going under the house lol. I was so glad that Diego took pictures of some sub par work done on the ductwork under the house by the prior homeowners. OMG, I can't believe what shoddy work the prior homeowner did. Fortunately I was able to have Clear Thumb come back and take care of the problems today. Again the prices were reasonable, the work was professionally done and we can now be glad that the work was done the right way by Juan today. The only thing I would like to see if for them to take credit cards, I had to write a check for the first time in at least a year. But that's not a big deal, just my preference so I can get the " points " on my credit card. I feel like we got a great deal considering how many hours those guys worked. Came in early with a good sized team. Called well in advance so we could plan, great communication. Watched them disassemble the furnace and thoroughly clean it. We had a rat problem that left a bad smell, now there's no sign of any smell from the furnace. I had the greatest experience with Breathable heating and air conditioning. My family and I moved to Danville about two years ago, and we knew we'll have to replace our furnaces (based on our home inspector's report). Breathable was recommended to us by our realtor. She swears by them. Our house is quite large (over 4000ft2) and served by 2 systems so we decided to go with their highest tier (2-stage, high-efficiency furnaces). They installed two furnaces, two high-efficiency filter cabinets (and filters), resized our return ducts and grills (openings), and repaired a couple of broken ducts. Everything was great from start to finish. Super knowledgeable staff, super easy to work with, and to communicate with. By far the most pleasant experience we had with a contractor throughout our remodeling process. My wife felt safe having them around the house which wasn't the case with most of everyone else we had the "pleasure" working with on this project. Actually, a friend of mine that works for an HVAC company in Arizona checked out the furnaces they installed and was very impressed. To put it in his own words - "Top-notch workmanship!". It's been about a year since we had both furnaces installed and I can definitely say that: 1. The house gets warm & cozy much faster than before. 2. I hired Breathable to clean the ducts and furnace for my house. I've hired three different companies in the last 4 years to clean ducts in my homes and Breathable was by far the best. Their price was competitive but did so much more than the others in their cleaning process including prepping the area to protect the floors and rooms which the other two businesses did not do. Unfortunately I can't remember their exact process, but do recall they were not only thorough and careful but also courteous and conscientious. And when they took a lunch break in my driveway, they made sure to clean up after themselves and not make more work for me. I used Breathable last year after the Wine Country fires. (They were known as Clear Thumb then.) Atlas Heating recommended them when I needed someone to clean our furnace blower, heating ducts, dryer vent, and bathroom fan. I have asthma and needed to make sure I wasn't circulating particles from the fire when I ran the furnace, dryer, or bathroom fan. I had such a positive experience with Nir and his crew last year that I called them again once the Camp Fire was over. Nir responds quickly and the scheduling process is easy. His crew was punctual, friendly, and professional. They finished the work quickly and cleaned up after themselves, something I always appreciate! We had vent cleaning done once before, after our new furnace remodel in 2013. Our family had a lot of sneezing whenever turned on the heater. I decided to have a thorough cleaning done, and found Clear Thumb on Yelp with high marks. Checked few other companies in parallel and found Nir very professional and competitive so decided to get the service done by them. They gave a two-hour arrival window (8 am - 10 am), and they called half an hour before coming. The three man team were very clear about the services to be done while doing a pre-walk-through. The previous remodel contractor didn't seal some areas around the vents leading into the crawl space, which probably caused some spiders to get it and lot of dust which they sealed for free with some foil tape.They have taken a look at the bathroom vents/motors, and attached are some before and after pictures for your reference. Our rental house in San Francisco was built in the 60s, and after completing some major recent remodeling, and before renting it out again, we decided it was probably a good idea to have the heating air ducts cleaned, especially because I suspected the ducts had never been cleaned before.
