Food, service, and ambiance were great! It was packed (we went on Saturday) , so I highly recommend making reservations through Yelp, it helps to secure your spot at the top of the waitlist!! There's plenty of space inside, and staff do come and check on yo regularly. The food is good, however if you happen to get a grilled cheese be warned: it comes as two crisped cheesy toasts facing each other, not as a melty cheesy toasty sandwich! Still good, just not what I was expecting or craving.

went here for a quick brunch at at the bar and it was yummy! I had a guava mimosa with a breakfast croissant and the home fries.. really well seasoned, quick to come out with everything AND they have a rewards program lol. I def would return here!

I have to say I am but disappointed with the place due to the food and service. I went for breakfast on sunday morning with my little ones. We were promptly seated. Ordered Coffee, kids pancakes with fruit and fries(both kinds) and Ranchero Skillet. Kids loved their breakfast, Skillet was meh. The red onion topped over powered the flavor and it was difficult to get past the strong uncooked onion flavor. I ordered the Cinna Cake to go as I had a coupon for birthday month and had to mention it is to go 3 times atleast even though I asked that way when I ordered.

Amazing customer service !!! We always pass by BYC so finally decided to check it out... We were seated immediately we loved the restaurant nice clean vibe good place to come with family & friends. We ordered- CLASSIC AVOCADO TOAST Thick sliced artisan grain bread lightly toasted and topped with fresh avocado, two poached eggs, and "everything but the bagel" seasoning. From the Benedict section we choose two - CAPRESE BENEDICT A toasted English muffin topped with arugula, fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced tomato, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and a pesto basil drizzle. CLASSIC EGGS BENEDICT A toasted English muffin topped with Canadian bacon, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. BORDER BENEDICT Poached eggs, seasoned carne asada, and sweet corn cakes topped with our homemade poblano sauce and fresh sliced jalapeño. SOPE BENEDICT Fried sopes filled with shredded beef and topped with poached eggs, homemade ranchero sauce, sliced avocado, fresh salsa, cotija cheese and sour cream. Everything was delicious, we got to taste 4 different Benedict which was great because we opted for choose two . Avocado toast was also great . They have lots of options to choose from which is great. Will definitely check it out next time... Plenty of seating inside & outside , nice parking space plus they have a parking garage close by .

We visited Broken Yolk Café in McKinney and there are definitely some positives to note. The interior is very nicely done -- clean, inviting, with plenty of space between tables so it doesn't feel crowded. They also have a great oversized covered patio that opens up to a large, well-maintained community green space. It's a great setup for families with kids who may want some room to move around. Service was also a strong point. They were well staffed, the hosts and servers were friendly, our order was taken quickly, and the food arrived to the table without delay. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. We ordered the Cowboy Skillet and the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast. Both dishes looked promising but were surprisingly bland and lacked the flavor and seasoning you would expect from a spot that has such a polished look and atmosphere. Nothing was technically wrong with the food -- it just didn't have much taste. Pricing is reasonable, which we appreciated, but overall the quality of the food didn't match the ambiance or service. We'd be open to trying it again in the future, hoping the kitchen finds a bit more flavor balance, because the place itself has a lot going for it.

Been planning to have breakfast at this place for some time now and we finally made it here today! Spacious, Airy with both inside and patio dining this pace has tons of seating. Sammie (Samantha ) took care of all our needs very courteously and kindly. The food was brought out to us as soon as they were ready and till then our cup of coffee was constantly filled to the brim! The Avocado toast was a hugh slice and accompanied by 2 poached eggs which we shared. Then I had the classic and Caprese Bennie's combo with hash browns, while the better half had the Sope and Border Benedict combo with home fries.. Everything was made well! We will return soon.

We had been wanting to give this place a try for a minute and so glad we did. Service was excellent, fast and welcoming. The menu has something for everyone. We picked a good date to seat in the patio, it was perfect . Food was very good so we are going to start putting this restaurant at location. Owner of restaurant was checking on most tables. Its always good to see that they care about our experience. Definitely recommend and will be back soon!

I've eaten there twice, the first time, I wasn't impressed with the service due to the wait time but the second time around I could tell they hired more staff and so the service was efficient. Mimosa flight was delicious the pineapple was definitely the star of the show! The cina cakes were good and perfect flavor just a tad bit dry for my liking! Everything else was cooked good I love me some bacon! Ivan was our server and he was AMAZING! The place was quiet and nice!

I have to start by saying service could have been better. Food was ok, nothing special. Of all the things we ordered the Sweet Trio was probably my favorite. The Tiki Toast was delicious! All the savory things we ordered were decent. I ordered a benedict that had a chicken tender and was doused some kind of cheddar sauce (I think). The sauce was too thick and made the dish so heavy. The grits, however, was delicious! Probably one of the best restaurant grits I've had.

Lived in Pacific Beach San Diego for many years so have been to the original BY countless times. Took my girl on an early scooter ride and stopped for yummy breakfast. The place is good sized with high ceilings so kinda had an echo inside. We were seated and waited on very fast. My girl had the classic benedict and I had the Cowboy Skillet. My Skillet was served hot and totally on point.... lots of sausage and peppers. Coffee quality was good and our waiter was always nearby. Overall excellent experience and because it is close to our home it may turn into our goto weekend breaks spot!!!!! read more

Our family enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the Broken Yolk. The omelettes and all food portions were very generous. The hash browns are perfectly toasted and the handmade biscuits are flaky and warm. The butter for the biscuits is served a a large dollop not just an almost frozen bit of butter in a foil wrapper like many restaurants. We ordered to go, so that might account for the poor quality of the food. Service was good, I was greeted when I came in the door by a few friendly hostesses. Arrived before the food was complete, so I waited a few minutes for my food to come out. After about a 5 minute drive back home , the food was already cold. The toast was very lightly toasted, and soggy, would not even call it toast. Crispy Homefries were both burned and some pieces were barely cooked. Got The Mom omelette and it was extremely watery, the mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers soggy. We will not order to-go from this location again. We will try dine-in next time, to see if maybe the to-go was the issue with the food quality. read more

Visited for the 1st time Sun, Feb 23, 2025. 30 minute wait for a table. Waitress was good. Food was not good. Ordered a drink called a Dreamsicle after seeing one at another table. The one we received was not like the other (color) and was terrible. Ordered two meals plus a short stack. Both meals were meh. Scrambled eggs were rubbery, all of the food except the chicken fried steak was delivered cold. First batch of pancakes had some black stuff on them. Sent them back, second try was raw inside. Syrup was NOT maple, some imitation stuff that tasted awful. Tables are too small for the size of the plates, had to remove stuff to fit two breakfasts and a side. We won't be going back. read more

I've eaten here twice and 3 Sundays ago was the second time. Both times the service was great from the hostesses at the front counter to the food runners and bussers. The main attraction was my waitress "Tina" who was extremely pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable. I'm very picky about my eggs and my omelette came out perfect, cooked soft/easy just like I like it the only thing about this restaurant is they don't put cheese on top of the omelette so you have to request it otherwise it's a naked omelette with the ingredients only on the inside but she placed my order just as I asked and nothing had to go back. The food was consistent both times I've eaten here and I will return. Thanks again Tina. read more

The service and ambiance were good, but the food was underwhelming. I ordered the golden state and fried chicken Benedicts and a side of loaded cheesy grits. My friend ordered the sweet trio. The fried chicken Benedict was served on a dense and hard biscuit and the chicken was overcooked. The golden state Benedict was served cold, but it was tasty. The home fries were undercooked scalloped potatoes that were lukewarm to cold. The extra side of loaded cheesy grits were delicious, but also lukewarm. My friend's take on the sweet trio is order the crunchy French toast and skip the rest. The coffee was meh. read more

Terrible experience. We waited 35 minutes to be seated and another 20 minutes just to place our order. After waiting again, the server finally came back to say they were out of chicken -- no tenders for the kids, no chicken and waffles, nothing. At that point, we left. LOVE Broken Yolk!!! I just went there again, and had the Spicy Vegan Bowl, which featured some fantastic vegan sausage over Just Eggs. Next we got the sizzling A5 Wagyu over rice which as hand tossed table side (video added) The flavors and textures in this dish left us in raptures!! Update: We go to eat here every weekend when we are not traveling. I think we may have eaten our last time at this restaurant. We always sit at the bar which is open seating. We went a little later today so it was full- no big deal we put our name on the list. We see the owner (which acted like our best friend two weeks ago) go and introduce himself to this young couple and go over board to be friendly to them. As we were waiting for a table, 2 spots came available at the bar so we went to take them. He told us that they are not open seating we need to be on the list. Well he gets them all cleaned up and then we watch him tell the hostess and takes the young couple back (out of order) to take those seats. Our waitress confirmed they are open seating. Said this is the way they do business. How about be loyal to those that are loyal to you? Time to find a new brunch place. Plus, he has changed the menu at least 3 times. The "bucket of bubbles" he is charging $32 for is a 4.99 bottle Wycliff at Total Wine. Not a good look when you have a wait and you blow off your loyal customers. The food never disappoints. I recently visited Broken Yolk in McKinney with my mom for brunch after church, inspired by a few positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. The restaurant was quite crowded, which led to a bit of a wait, but that's understandable for a Sunday. What wasn't excusable, though, was the poor service we received. Our waitress, Ashley, had a noticeable bad attitude from the start. She seemed irritated when we asked for basic things like syrup and napkins, even though there were none on the table. When I ordered a hot chai tea latte, she brought it to me cold instead, which was frustrating. It then took over 15 minutes for us to get her attention to fix the order. Hailey is wonderful as always! Kind, sweet and attentive. Same as the food - I got the classic eggs benedict and my partner got the choose two benedict with the sunrise and border. Absolutely delicious. I got the limited time snickerdoodle hot latte with oat milk. Delicious, as expected. My partner ordered the chai latte, but they were out of chai, so Hailey recommeded the matcha. And holy shiznit, she was right! The food was really really good, I've never had such a tasty croissant. My entire family was pleased with their food. The Restaurant was really busy during Sunday brunch. My only gripe is 2 of our 4 orders were brought to the table, 7 minutes later the 3rd order was brought, our wonderful waitress, Alexa, explained that the 4th order someone was accidentally taken & she put a rush on a new order.
