The space feels especially cozy on a cold winter night. Standouts: The Mushroom Soup with Puff Pastry is outstanding. The "Frittes" are consistently good, especially when paired with seafood or a beef entrée. Less Impressive: The mussels were fresh and generously portioned but ultimately underwhelming in flavor. Bottom line: This is a great casual bistro for a burger, fries, and Belgian beer. One of the better food option in the area. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday night but I had a great time. Food is pretty good - ordered the mussels, beef tartare, and carbonara pasta. Portions are great, they definitely don't skimp. Mussels were delicious and my favorite dish of the night. The beef tartare was good but not something I'd order again. Lastly, the carbonara is more like a bacon mac n cheese. Service was phenomenal, everyone I interacted with was very pleasant. Outdoor seating was a great option to enjoy the summer evening. Wife and I tried this place for the first time. Only issue I had was I ordered the "Pork Shank" and expected it to be a raw product that was cooked. It was cooked, but it was a ham shank, not a pork shank. It tasted and look like ham that was warmed up. To spend $39.00 for a piece of ham was not what I expected. read more

This review is a tad strange because while I have a lot of food allergies and can't quite order from here, my dad loves this place. The staff has always been so kind to us, and given us great drinks, and given him great food! It's also located right on Forest Avenue, which has incredible Laguna night life. Their food is incredible with so many great options to choose from. I really wanted to try the Cheese Croquettes and I can't recommend them enough - SO GOOD. For entrees, my friend and I both ordered the Pasta Carbonara along with their flavorful Boeuf Bourguignon and enjoyed every single bite. We shared the Apple Tart for dessert and it's safe to say it was the highlight of the night. Try it as soon as possible!!! We really loved this cozy place with a veranda. On a cool day, it was the perfect decision to order the cream of mushroom soup and mussels in a creamy sauce, served with French fries. The mussels were so tender they melted in your mouth. There's a huge selection of beer, with an option to try four different kinds for $18. My friend took me to this restaurant tonight, and I felt as if I were in Europe! Two of us sat down by the little fireplace. It was cozy, private, and charming. The service was excellent. First, we had fun tasting the variety of beer by tasting flight. Then each of us picked our favorite beer and ordered mussels. Wow!!! A generous number of mussels came in the special bowls that kept warm throughout the meal. The mussels were sweet, fresh, juicy, soft, and melting in mouth. I picked Marinière flavor which brought the best flavor of mussels in my opinion. I loved the crunchiness of celery in the broth. Had amazing dinner to celebrate my mother's birthday last night! Staff was so accommodating and attentive! Alexia and her team rocked! Food was on point! Curry mussels, garlic mussels, fries were fresh and super satisfying. But we also ordered the Beef Bourginon(sp?) which was simply perfect. A mouthful of joy with each bite! We were in town passing by. Stopped for a bite to eat. Everything we had was amazing, down to the service. But let me tell you what really did it for me, the Pork Shank. Legit, one of the best pork dishes I've ever had. It was absolutely amazing and I would make the drive just to eat that dish again. We had the crab cakes which were also amazing, as well as the oysters that were really fresh. Service was great and I would definitely recommend this place. When ordering the main course last night, the waitress knocked my wife's entire glass of wine onto her dress! She was completely soaked! The waitress slowly returned with a towel, barely apologized for what she did, and didn't even comp my wife's glass of wine. Any decent restaurant would have comped her entire dinner. This restaurant has the coziest yet lively atmosphere and the best staff. The food is fantastic as expected, my favorite being the beef that came in a pot, and their bar had the loveliest bartender. He let us sample some beers we were interested in to choose for your beer flight, and their dirty martini was balanced and one of the best I had so far. We were also celebrating my mom's birthday and they were so kind to give us dessert that came with a huge sparkler and music. The food here was quite bad. Service staff didn't seem to care about the food being bad. Ambiance was nice (but who cares if the food is bad). Appetizers: Crab cakes (which was supposedly a special) tasted like the frozen microwaveable kind you buy at a grocery store. Garlic shrimp was good size but uninteresting, in a pesto-looking sauce that was more oil than basil. My husband and I finished both but only because we came from a hike and were starving (taste buds akin to those after a long night of drinking) Sides: Fries were awful. How do you mess up fries? Mashed potatoes were sour! (Never had sour mashed potatoes in my life). Entrees: The trout was far too oily and overcooked. My husband had to stop eating after about 25% of it. The mussels were not cleaned well enough (residual seaweed) and too fishy. Also far too much garlic. I barely ate half of it. Drinks: Iced Coca-Cola was too much to ask. They did not have cans or bottles. Only fountain machine cola which was too watery and flat. My husband's chardonnay from Monterey was ok (but that has nothing to do with the restaurant). Overall, we left the place not as hungry as before our hike but $155 poorer and with extremely disappointed taste buds which required a thorough cleaning. We will definitely NOT be going back. If you're looking for good tasting food, I would steer clear of this place. read more

We had tickets to the Pageant of the Masters and were looking for a place to grab a quick bite before the show. We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking in the area and decided to eat here. Our experience as a party of four was great from the fist moment we walked in: the service was very attentive thanks to Lindsey who gave us some great advice and nailed everything! We started with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon Jaja and two appetizers: the grand cornet of frites and the Brussel Sprouts, both of which were perfect. We continued with two salads (Mediterranean Quinoa with shrimp and a Beet salad) which were absolutely delicious. My main course was Trout Almondine and I enjoyed every bite. I have been to Belgium several times and everything was authentic and very fairly priced. I will definitely visit again next time I am in the area. read more

Such a cool and different place! It feels like a little escape to Europe with the decor, menu and ambiance. The food is Ah-Mazing! You have to at least try the fries with the different dipping sauces. And (I'm already drooling), the chocolate mousse!!! My goodness, it's THAT good. I've also had the meatballs, the burger, and the Mac and cheese. ALL outstanding and super tasty. Their beer menu is extensive and different which is fun.
