Food was quite tasty! I've tried bubba in LA many years ago, although I feel like this experience was much better. We ordered whole bunch of shrimp dishes, which was tasty and fresh. The best was the shrimp cocktails. The shrimp salad was refreshing and light. However, the salmon was a bit dry but still good flavor. Located at universal studios. Service was pretty good but food was not so good... ordered bowl of New England clam chowder and it wasn't that good... they had corn in the clam chowder and I've never had corn in my New England clam chowder before... Ordered the accidental catch and mamas chicken as entrees. Both the entrees were pretty disappointing. There was flounder shrimp and mostly all rice in the accidental catch. There was very little sauce so the food was very bland didn't have any taste besides the little sauce they gave you. Mamas chicken was very disappointing as well. There was 2 pieces of chicken and the skin was very salty. Came with two corn but the corn was so over cooked. Mash potato was probably the only thing that was good that came with this dish... it did come with gravy but the gravy was way too salty. read more

I ordered the Lt Dan platter and a bowl of clam chowder. The shrimp and fries came out cold. The Ribs were spot on. The clam chowder was very nice. My daughter ordered the mamas southern fried chicken. It was phenomenal. My daughter puts ketchup on fried chicken all the time, but in this instance she did not want to ruin this dish with a condiment. I also tasted it and it was spectacular. My daughter stated that it was better than grandma's and though it pains me to say it, it is very true. The mash potatoes and gravy was on par as well. She never really eats mash potatoes but she cleaned her plate. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have Dr. Pepper. I do want to add that our server, Doug, was great! read more

The food was good but the best part of this visit was using the Landry's Club card. There was a line outside of the restaurant for people wanting tables. I walked up and showed them the card and asked for a table. Landry Club members have priority seating. We were told to go inside and wait in the Landry Club member waiting area and that it would be a five minute late. Once we were seated and had ordered, it took five-ten minutes for the food to come out. The food was hot and fresh. If you do not have the Landry's card, it's free and works at their restaurants in Orlando and around the country. The card is so worth it!!!! read more

Was super excited to finally get it off the list. As a Universal passholder I'm always reminded that I need to eat there. The day finally came. All entrees (minus the sandwiches) were around $20 each. We ordered the "Run Across America Sampler" for a group of 4 and it was more than enough and delicious. As an entree I split the "Forrest's Seafood Feast"....so good and enough food for 2. The waiter suggested getting some garlic bread (at a cost) more than 3 or 4 times which was a bit much but we ended up with two orders anyway. Didn't regret the bread at all. About a year ago my wife joined the Landry's Select club. No matter how long the line is or how many reservations they might have, we can always get a table at Bubba Gumps! Fly home day from our recent short January trip to Orlando, and we wanted a good last lunch. Having skipped breakfast, we wanted a place that was opening for lunch as early as possible. Since it was 5:00 somewhere and clinging to the precious few hours left of our vacation, I started with chardonnay and Husband went for something blue that he liked, but I don't remember what it was. For food, I was intrigued by the Kentucky Bourbon Skewers: Large Shrimp skewered with Red and Green Bell Peppers, Red Onion and Andouille Sausage , brushed Kentucky Bourbon Sauce. Served with Mashed Potatoes and Corn on the Cob. Husband chose Forrest's Seafood Feast which was a bunch of fried shrimp and fish n chips. We both very much enjoyed our choices. Although I was very full, Husband somehow got talked into dessert. He ordered Mama's Best Strawberry Shortcake. He really liked it. I barely tasted it because I was so full. It was okay. It hardly had any strawberries. More berries and less shortcake to really make it Mama's Best. Very much enjoyed our experience here...especially when we were treated to a fun trivia quiz. On our trip to Universal, we found ourselves in need of dinner so we picked Bubba's. The decor is a bit outlandish, inspired by the famous Forrest Gump. We were seated almost immediately and our server Dan took awesome care of us. We had the clam appetizer, 2 skewer shrimp appetizer, fish and chip platter, pear and berry salad, and clam chowder between the three of us. My pear and berry salad was awesome; I highly recommend it. I got mine ordered sans the pears, but there was still plenty on my plate: raspberries, strawberries, some kind of nut (I think it was tiny walnuts), all topping fresh lettuce (and not the iceberg kind!) To finish it off, there was a sweet and slightly tangy raspberry vinegarette on top. It was fanastic! read more

Oh man, after walking around universal for so long these restaurants near the entrance feel like an oasis. Thank god they open untill 11pm (even later because I saw people still coming in at like 1050 pm), you don't even know you are hungry when you are too occupied by the universal studio. Okay, so we got to the restaurant around 930 pm and there were a plenty of seats. Ordered alcohols and an hush pups as an appetizer (they give you an alcohol glass when you order certain drinks, but have to get pricey drinks from $11~13 mostly-- now I think about it it wasnt worth getting them). Alcohol beverages were strong enough, they didn't taste much watered down. And appetizer was amazing! Definitely use their new sauce that was on TV show called billion dollar buyer!! Pineapple Spicy sauce was awesome. As for food, we ordered shrimp pasta and rice with spicy shrimps side (forgot the names, but there are pictures on the menu). Food tasted good (I mean what wouldn't after walking around for 10 hrs) but the portion was a lot smaller than I anticipated. My shrimps were slightly undercooked, but i didn't want to wait for them to make my dish again so i suck it up and just ate them. Waiting time for food was reasonable (I think about 10-15 mins?) and the server was attentive and nice. Most meals here are anywhere from 15 dollar-ish up to 30 dollars which is expected at an amusement park. Spent about 90 bucks total, but when you are at universal, everything is worth it! read more

Mean girl customer service. My husband and I just spent the whole day in the park. Wanted to try bubba Gump for the first time. The entrance looked like a gift shop. Wanted to make sure it wasn't and we noticed the host stand (we didn't notice or read it, it was already super crowded. We were just quickly asking like most people if this was the entrance (SINCE THERES LITERALLY STANDS EVERYWHERE THROUGH CITY WALK AND THE PARKS FOR NUMEROUS REASONS) She laughed, said yeah (girl with a bad knee who looked tired) but no need to laugh at us like we were idiots. We didn't even ask in a rude way, smiling, happy and all. She didn't tell us we needed to check in, she just laughed. So we walked in TOTALLY UNAWARE. Lady at front asked for our name, said we didn't have reservations didn't know we needed any. She then told us we were supposed to go to the lady at the stand outside. At this point I'm embarrassed and was like well I'm sorry but the lady at the stand laughed at us when we asked if this was the entrance and wasn't sure. The girls response was literally yeah well we don't know why people get confused thinking the stand outside is for a gift shop, it's for the restaurant, that's why she laughed. But we never assumed that, we were literally just making sure it was the entrance. She was too busy laughing and we never were told by her to check in, we were just laughed at instead.
