There are but a few places that get it right every time. This is one of those places. Be forewarned that it came get busy. Take a look at the bar area for available seating. Come with an appetite. The appetizers are worth trying. The shotgun shrimp comes breaded, lightly fried, and smothered in a spicy cream sauce. The plating left much to be desired as it was all laid out in a bowl but it didn't take from the taste. The onion rings are light and flavorful. Want to try both? Get the shrimp dish as an appetizer and sub onion rings for fries on the bacon burger entree. The portion sizes are plentiful and the food tastes so good that this place will have you looking forward to leftovers. Bacon Burger-This burger could compete for best burger in the city hands downs with the best of them. There is a BBQ flavor that compliments the bacon. Oh yeah! This place was awesome! Beer, burgers and service were 5/5. I absolutely loved this vibe and environment. We walked in and it was PACKED! We were told that the wait for seating was over an hour. We almost walked out but found a nice spot at the bar. The beer was ice cold and the bartenders working were super friendly and courteous despite how busy it was. I've been to places where crowds overwhelm the bartenders but these folks kept their cool and handled it. I ordered the blue cheeseburger and that thing was FIRE! Fries were crispy and and the quality of the beef was on point. The food was so bomb, we went back on our second night during our short stay in San Antonio. read more

(bathroom is the best place to write a yelp review) bathroom looks clean and the music is...interesting. the bathroom has those non automatic sinks which i personally like because the automatic ones never stay on for a while. the burger was yum and as soon as i cut into it, it was steaming. the service was so good the waiter came and gave me another coke (and yk i love me some coke so)without having to ask. she checked in as well, i felt loved and recognized for the first time in my life. Because sometimes you want to watch the game while enjoying a beer. We came in on a Sunday night and it was packed but we only waited a few minutes to get a booth. Loved how they used a Ford Mustang to create seating in the lobby. Happy to have been seated quickly but grossed out by the food underneath our table. :( We had a late lunch so just ordered hot wings, a pepperoni and sausage pizza, and drinks. New York style pizza it is not but it's pretty darn good. The crust was pillowy, soft, and so tasty. I could have eaten the whole thing by myself. They didn't skimp on the cheese or pepperoni but could have put on my sausage. But the wings were gross. We had expected deep-fried hot buffalo wings. What we got was warm boiled wings with some type of watered down hot sauce. I'd come back for the pizza. read more

Definitely enjoyed my food here but the real catch is how many screens there are!! Such an awesome spot to come watch sports. Really wish a Spurs game had been on while we were there. Love a place where I can get a mixed drink with Red Bull too. Was delish! Bubba's!!! How great of a visit it was indeed. This place is super neat and had the greatest decoration. So much personality!!! I loved the stools by the bar ;D I ordered the avocado bacon sandwich and my friend ordered the margarita pizza. Wow!!! Not going to lie... I thought it was going to be less than mediocre. I wad expecting bar food.. dull bar food. I WAS SO WRONG! Everything from the smoked mozzarella on the pizza to the fire fries were so amazing!! I would recommend to anyone! However, chicken strips were soggy my shrimp po boy was very soggy and the oil that it was fried in seemed old the bread does not pair well with it. This place is so tasty! Been here several times now and everything has been so good! I will say that everything is very very flavorful they def like their salts and spices here. I love salt so it's great. But I could see that all the bursting flavors could become a little powerful if you are not big on salt. They have a lemon basil dressing for the salad. So good! The fried chicken I sooo good! I don't even like meatloaf and this one is good. The bacon around it is crispy. Fire fries are delicious. They had a new garden rice side. It's great!! Fire fries are fire! Salmon was great. Everything is so good. I have yet to try the pizza or burger. But will be back. I will say I can only have my wings crispy and although they smell so good. The wings I've seen go out to other customers they do not seem crispy at all. But I have not tried them. I did not realize this was a Texas Roadhouse company which we love...but Bubbas seems a little better :). You can tell the teamwork that goes on within the company staff. I will say the first time we came (we have only ever sat at the bar) our bartender started out nice...but completely stopped checking up on us for about 35 minutes. We actually had to close out with a different bartender we weren't getting any service at all. But we have been back several times since and have not had a problem. Love the fun environment at Bubba's very loud but fun for younger people like my teens. Burgers are really good and my favorite is the one with the fried egg on it. Service is always great and wait times vary but usually not more than 30 minutes even on busy nights. They make tasty Stromboli and enough to share with a friend or family member. This was the first time visiting Babba's 33 and I am a tad bit disappointed. First, we had to wait 35 minutes to be seated. I was okay with that due to it being a Friday and they looked relatively busy. Then we sat down and it took an hour for us to get our food. While waiting, two tables who got there well after us got their food before we did. The food itself was good but not exactly what I expected. Very salty and very greasy. The best part was the strawberry lemonade. The cheese pizza was okay. Our waiter (Kayce) was really good as far a service though. She was very attentive making sure we had refills and checked in on us making sure we were good. She is probably why I gave this place three stars instead of one. On a final note, Kayce told us that the manager was going to drop something off at our table but the manager never came so we left. I don't know what it is/was that she/he was supposed to drop off. What a surprisingly nice experience here, from the moment I walked in and was greeted warmly, to the food, and the service throughout. Now with a name like "Bubba's", I didn't expect much, except the reviews were giving it a 4.5-star rating -- but sometimes this is because people really liked the drinks, or they thought the big-screen TV experience was the best... you know. I went there mainly to eat, and chose the fish and chips dinner, with a side salad and cole slaw. And a beer. Let's start there. Damn, the beer here is nicely COLD! I don't know if that's a San Antonio thing, because I saw another place advertising about their 28° cold beer or something like that. Like it was a competition in San Antone to have the coldest beer... But whatever the reason, that ice-cold beer really hit the spot. I chatted with the bartender-ess about that for a bit too; like I said, a very friendly staff. The side salad was freakin awesome! And that's not very usual for me to rave about a salad. But it had it all goin on -- it was cold and crisp, lots of fixin's, a bit of crunch, and an unexpectedly delicious dressing (Honey Mustard). I had ordered the blue cheese dressing also, in case I didn't like the other, but it was definitely not needed. (FYI, The blue cheese dressing was good too!) The fish was absolutely perfectly done, thick and flaky, with a thin crisp coating that somehow had enough substance to it to stand up to all that fish. Normally it takes a thicker coating to balance the flavor, but this was quite alright as-is. Three pieces. I took care of all three, no problem. The slaw was very creamy, and a tad on the sweet side. Still probably four-stars good, even though I'd make it a bit different if I had the choice. No doubt I'm returning here when I'm in the San Antonio area. Bubba's may not have a haute-cuisine name, like "Chez Pierre" or "The 33 Grille", but the food just might be as good as a top-end restaurant. read more

I only checked out Bubba's 33 because I had a coupon. It's just an okay place. I had the avocado grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I got the Dickey V 12 inch pizza for free. The service at the bar was okay at first but then it slowed down. Some customers were ignored for a bit. The pizza and the sandwich were decent. You will get a lot of food for the money. I would check them out just in case I was there on an off day. read more

I've said alot in my previous reviews, so I'll say that the food and drinks are great and priced right! Worth a visit! The pizzas are really good for not being made in a coal/wood buring oven. I was given a gift certificate, typically I would not eat at a sport bar restaurant. I don't normally go to sports bars because the food is nothing but deep-fried processed food the TVs are too loud and music's always playing. And the cacophony of noise just makes having a conversation difficult. but since it was a gift certificate, I decided to try it. I had a burger because if the burger is good and the fries are good then the other food might be good. Burger and fries were awesome. Service was good and yes TVs were blaring music was too loud but everything was good so two weeks later I went back and I ordered a steak and it was also really good. I went with two other people and everyone's dish was really good so yes, this is definitely a place I would eat at again, however, it caught me off guard because it's not a typical sports bar because the food is actually good. read more

This place is decent. It gets busy and sometimes the food can take a while, it's understandable. But the bar really does take way too long some times. Pizza is not too bad, lacks effort. This sports bar does many things very well. The aesthetics, entertainment, service, and food are all stellar. There were a variety of beers on tap, Plenty of screens with sporting events, music videos, and Chive tv playing so it was a fun place to hangout for awhile. The food was fresh and came out in under 15 minutes which was impressive given the size of the menu. It really shows when food is prepared with some level of care: nuance of flavor, quality of ingredients, and serving temperature, etc. My wife and I shared wings and a Philly cheesesteak. SALMONELLA WARNING!!!! I ordered 6 wings pretty simple. First bite into my first wing was red and chewy, so I put that down and tried the next.. same result. So I decided to check all the wings all had red and raw gooey insides.. so I called waitress to get them remade.. in which she did second round after my whole table was done eating I took a bite into my wing and it was WORSE! I called the manager over he had black nailpolish and was nice at first until I showed my complaint.. he told me all the wings are PRECOOKED (like it makes things better) and said he wouldnt risk putting another 6 wings downnto cook for me and that I was pretty much wrong in saying the wings were undercooked had PINK and bloody chicken meat.. he said sorry I was getting the bad batch he rolled his eyes took the wings off my ticket. The waitress looked at my wings saw the pink and blood. I told her you can clearly tell they aren't cooked. She said "sorry you feel that way like my manager said they are precooked" Very unprofessional and to get wings that were a "faulty" batch twice? Not great, but not horrible. Variety of things to choose from. I had a burger (mushroom) wrapped in lettuce. Maybe a new concept for them. I asked for rare and got well done. We came at opening so you would expect better and more prepared. But our server was great and she got things in order. A manager came out and said sorry in rapped speed so we didn't really get a chance to tell him he was off to our next table of the 7 tables of people.
