Smoked bbq pork ribs. Delish but not tender.

Here to celebrate hubby's birthday with dinner at the Buckeye. We were seated on the top floor. Everything we ordered was tasty. The smoked bbq pork ribs could have been more tender, but it had good smoky flavor. Fresh & warm Parkerhouse rolls were good too. We definitely enjoyed the Oysters Bingo the most and ended our meal with their S'mores pie. I did feel our server paid more attention to my hubby and not so much with the rest of us which I thought was a bit off putting, but oh well.

S'more desert for this birthday boy just pops!

Aside from flawed reservation confirmations the quality of the food & service is superb! From the "bric chicken Buckeye is renowned for the entrees in general are savory & delicious. Deserts made onsite are fabulous and the drinks! Aye the drinks & wine list are excellent!

Date of Visit: 9/27/2025 We visited the Buckeye Roadhouse in Marin County after our afternoon hike at the Muir Woods. Buckeye Roadhouse was opened back in 1937, offering contemporary American cuisine at the rustic dining room with warm ambiance. We didn't make a reservation beforehand and waited for about 20 minutes. We ordered two cocktails at the bar and waited at the seating area in front of the register. Aperol Fizz $16 Husband ordered the Aperol Fizz with Hendricks gin, aperol, lemon, and aquafaba. Pearfection 16 I got the Pearfection with Pear Vodka, Elderflower liquor, fresh lemon juice, and rosemary. Sweet with the smell of pear and rosemary. Barbecued Baby Back Ribs $31.5 For the main course, I ordered the smoking barbecued baby back ribs, and on the side with grilled corn on the cobb, and cole slaw. 12oz Brandt Ribeye Steak $49 Husband got the medium rare ribeye steak with blue cheese and bacon stuffed mini baked potatoes. There were green basil sauce on top and red chili sauce in a separate bowl. 2022 Robert Craig Cabernet Sauvignon $19 Husband got another glass of red wine. This 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon "Le Fleur Craig" is from Napa Sonoma County.

We decided to visit for our anniversary dinner, we didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and the food was amazing! We will definitely come again.

After a long day of bump'n around Marin, going on hikes, we came to the ever so popular Buckeye Roadhouse for some delicious food. Thankfully, I had made a reservation weeks in advance, but parking was kind of stressful as we had to park across the road. Like the rest of the bay, while it looked fancy, Buckeye Roadhouse had very casual vibes, so there wasn't that much of a dress code. Food was very delicious and they were super accommodating to splitting up the entree by doing it themselves! Definitely highly recommended if you find yourself on this side of the Golden Gate Bridge.

We went to Buckeye Roadhouse on a Friday night around 630pm without a reservation. The place was already very busy but we got a table in the bar area after 30-40 minutes. We ordered the oysters bingo and the Buckeye smoked chicken wings as appetizers, we then shared the skirt steak and the butter lettuce salad. For dessert we tried the S'more pie (very light and fluffy). Despite the restaurant being very busy our waitress Christy was very attentive and the food came relatively fast. The restaurant is tucked away at the exit of the highway. There's a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and more parking space across the street near the underpass. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting the area.

We are visiting from Texas and this restaurant was highly recommended. The parking is a nightmare but worth it! We actually parked across the street. The restaurant was very busy and we did not have a reservation but were seated in about 30 minutes. The pearfection cocktail was just sweet enough. The rolls were amazing. The kale and mushroom ravioli was scrumptious! Dim lights, white tablecloths set the ambience.

Go here for the dessert- delicious amazing options that are different than the usual place. The brisket meat was half cooked nicely (the one on top was nice ) but the underside piece was hard and not edible- gross. So blah unsatisfying and appears to be sneaky bc it was hiding underneath the good slice. I felt bad to send it back because I already consumed half of it. Ambiance, looks like it used to be one of the popular places. For some reason I thought it was in a lush forest setting but nah, it's basically on the side of the highway not at all picturesque. The dinner room looked interesting , old world German style. Don't sit next to the windows at the back bc they are drafty. Lovely wait staff, parking is good. As we were leaving looked like the bar was the place to be, good vibes there. Hostess - needs less snobbish vibes please. So remember if you get the brisket to check both pieces and send it back right away if was poorly prepared as mine was.

Special - Filet mignon beef stew with diced carrots and onions, deliciously ladled over Parmesan risotto.

Having dined there for at least one family members birthday celebration over the last 10 years, I apologize for not reviewing until now. Positives - the strong bar program, classic and creative cocktails well poured and a well curated offering of wines by the glass. Oysters Bingo (didn't have last night but reliably delicious), butter lettuce gem salad with blue cheese and the salmon and the ribs and the burger all are satisfying. That said - the special last night was the filet mignon beef stew ladled over Parmesan risotto and it was sublime, well suited to another cold and dreary evening. Our wait staff was professional and efficient and we enjoyed watching the bartenders in their element managing the long bar so efficiently, it's fun to watch when it's done well. Negatives - when I made the reservation on Open table, I put in comments that it was my partner's birthday and we'd never eaten at a table in the bar/lounge all these years, and could I please make a reservation there. I guess I should have called instead to confirm and secure, when we arrived, we were told those tables were all full (they were not, we could see that, no reserved signs either) and we were instead seated at a two top in the main dining room which would have been fine for any regular weekday dinner but for my partner's birthday request. We waited a few minutes and they were able to honor our request, but only after my partner intervened. Rare that we do that. We will return, but I guess we will need to call next time to make sure we can get a table in the bar instead of using an online service.

Marinated Beets - Not much flavor , but made for a healthy side Dark Chocolate pudding - I think it had been kept refrigerated , until served and so felt more like eating a frozen dessert and less like a pudding.

We were in the area hoping to get some fresh coastal air and looking for something simple and non-complicated to eat like a sandwich. This was exactly what I needed. This old school deli has an entire wall of refrigerators with every type of drink that fits your needs -water, juices, soda, beer, wine, and everything in between. There are plenty of sandwich options and plenty of refrigerated side dishes available to go with them. The owners were lovely (and patient). My daughter ordered a reuben on dark rye. I ordered pastrami on sliced sourdough. We each took half of the other's and shared a bag of air baked Kettle chips. We initially thought we would take our sandwiches to go and find a spot to eat them on a bench along the water side. However, there were several tables in the back, both indoor and outdoor in the garden. It was a perfect sunny, mild day and it was not terribly busy during this time, so we chose to enjoy our sandwiches there on a table next to open French doors. Five stars for food, service, and location. I'm always happy to support a small, local

This place has a nice typical burger-joint kind of vibe. We were worried about getting a seat since we were a group of 10, but we got seated within 5 mins of arriving, no reservations needed. Ordered: 1) Napa Truffle Fries: 5/5 2) Seasoned Fried: 4/5 3) Silverado Veggie Burger: 5/5 - Housemade patty. Omg, this was delicious! He was unable to locate the flavors or profile highlighted in the description of the James Beard burger. Maybe if he ate there, his experience may have been different. With an option to go, the burger's flavor should be able to travel comparable to in house. The Silverado Veggie burger was flavorful with a spicy profile, most likely from the chipotle aioli. Typically, veggie burgers are dry, this one was juicy and satisfying. I was extremely satisfied with my selection. The Seasoned fries at $10 were plentiful in portion but limp and lacking in flavor. We were both disappointed and did not revisit the portion after our first try. The fries could have been cooked longer and tossed with a heavier hand in the seasoning used. If we returned, we agreed to eat there with my husband choosing different for his burger choice. Not certain if we would chance the fries again.
