Not too bad. Great variety, you get what you pay for but one of the better Asian Buffets I have been to.

The fiancé and I tried this place out today and were a bit disappointed. I personally didn't think the selection was big, but maybe it was because we went at around 3pm on a weekday. The food was just ok, nothing impressive; it wasn't very fresh and my fiancé had a bit of a bad experience with their beef broccoli, which was chewy, overcooked, and had a fishy flavor. Their garlic shrimp was decent, as was their sweet and sour chicken and their sesame chicken. I was disappointed that they didn't seem to offer steamed rice. They only had a fried rice which looked radioactive due to its neon yellow/orange tinge. In retrospect, we should have tried the Mongolian Grill as it seems you have more food to choose from and you DO get that piping hot as opposed to the lukewarm-ness of the buffet food. I was hoping their desserts would save them but they didn't appeal to me and I'm a huge dessert-lover. I only tried their apple pie which was decent and a dinner roll which was actually pretty good. We also tried a nameless custard-y thing housed in a paper cup but it was just so-so. The interior IS very nice and spacious, everything looks clean. As far as pricing, this place is affordable (even though I was still sad to part with the $14.07 for both of us after eating). I personally wouldn't recommend it to my friends, but perhaps you will have a different experience. read more

The crab legs are about the size of your finger. They run out frequently. You have to be standing right by the crab legs when they bring them out to get any. We were there Saturday and they never brought any out to refill the pan. The service was terrible. Never got a drink refill. The rest of the food is pretty good but when they advertise their crab legs so heavily, it was very disappointing. read more

For an Asian buffet you can't expect much and here is no different. Clean environment, friendly service, but the food was terrible. All their meats are soaked and laying in juice, making for mushy meats. I do not recommend. Go to one of the surrounding buffets for better food. read more

When they first opened, they were the best buffet in town. I must say that their food and preparation quality has gone down quite a bit. That seems to be a frequent occurrence with a lot of restaurants. Yor safest bet is the Mongolian grill since you're getting fresh, personally selected ingredients fixed right in front of you. This place has a wonderful appearance but awful food and service. Multiple food items were cold when they should have at-least been warm. I also couldn't understand a word of what my waitress was saying to me. The sushi quality was poor, the sesame chicken tasted atrocious, and it seemed like the best item they served was their white rice... Which isn't saying much. I used to go here often but hadn't been for several years after watching a kid lick every serving spoon on the buffet while the employees did nothing about it. I went back recently to give it another try and I was impressed. The food quality seems to be an improvement over what it once was. The selection is vast and the food was hot even though I was there right at opening before the lunch rush. I especially enjoyed the catfish, brocolli salad, and the many chicken stir fries. Been to a lot of Chinese buffets in my lifetime and this one just isn't like the rest of them. Everything tasted old, had a greasy consistency, and the desserts were way too hard to bite into. They even have an ice cream machine and it tasted like cold-nothing. This place surprisingly didn't really satisfy my cravings for some salty, high calorie, fattening vats of Chinese. This is one of the best Chinese Buffets we have eaten at. The shushmi was fresh & the rice was very good not dried out & their rolls were very good. The BBQ ribs were cooked good, tender not super sugary like alot of buffets I have eaten at. The hot & sour soup was a little more on the sour side, but it was pretty good & the deserts were very good as well. Overall they have really good food. read more

This is my wife's favorite place for Chinese food. The Mongolian grill has a lot of choices, and contrary to another review the food from the Mongolian grill is fully cooked and plenty hot. Buffet options are pretty standard for a Chinese buffet and the food is good. read more

FILTHY February 19. 2015 @ 7:30pm I went there tonight and had to go to the restroom upon entering the stall it had a pile of toilet paper almost as high and long as toilet and poop showing on all the paper. This place was overall ok. The place itself from the outside looks a little shady but the inside is nice and clean. The food tasted ok but the food from the buffet was cold. The Sushi kind of all tasted the same and the service was average. read more

While the sushi was surprisingly decent, I have to say the rest of the buffet, despite the cheap price, is just meh. And I mean seriously meh. Some of the dishes just lacked flavor and the number of fried items were a bit ridiculous. I definitely needed more spice and seasoning in the majority of dishes I tried. I seriously should have gone to Mr. Chopsticks instead. I will say that the Hot and Sour Soup was pretty decent and the customer service was really good. Will I eat here again... I don't think so. I guess the fortune cookie was right. Hardships will happen. I got good poisoning from the sushi and octopus from here. I know it was from here because this was the only place I went to that day to eat and for dinner I had the same thing I always have. I visited around lunchtime (3 pm) yesterday with my boyfriend who is also experiencing symptoms (not as bad tho because he didnt eat as much as I did) I would not recommend eating at this place. First trip to the buffet king, after hearing about this place non stop from friends. Next you must understand that this is a family oriented, all you can eat buffett, so be prepared for lots of screaming kids. Lots of choices and a variety of things to try. Best I can tell is that if you are very selective, some of this was tasty. The standard orange chicken, peppered beef and pot stickers are pretty good. The fried things such as chicken tenders and squid are good things to avoid as dry and tough. Overall just passable, hence the 2 stars. For the price, we are Headin back to Bataar in the mid cities area. All you can eat buffett, I would perhaps recommend a trip to the Golden Corral. read more

Bad service!!!! They never came to pick up our plates. We waited and waited (about 15mins) to get a refill and we never did get it. After 15mins we got up went to the front to pay and I asked to speak to the manager but the lady said he wasn't there. I explained to her what the problem was and she smiled and said "I'm sorry I will give you a discount". She gave me a nice discount of $2 lol. Anyways I wouldn't recommend this place! Oh its big, its got seats, its good lots of fried foods and a little sushi to boot, but its not very good, the food was kind of bland. This is your basic Chinese buffet so don't expect anything fantastic. I love that there's such a variety of food, including soups, fruits, desserts, and even a grill where you can load up a bowl and they will cook it for you. The waitress was attentive and refilled my glass every time I started getting low. We never had dirty dishes sitting on our table for more than a few minutes. I've been going to this place for years and have always had good food and good service. Unfortunately today will be my last day. At the end of my meal my waiter watched me sign my check and saw where I put $0.00 for the tip (I never tip off a card, I always tip in cash) he instantly got angry and tried to confront me over the tip. Not even giving me a chance to reach into my wallet and hand him the cash I planned on giving him anyway. After I told him I wasn't tipping on the card he snatched the receipt and all the other waiters and waitresses rudely told me to leave. This is the worst I've ever been treated, especially being humiliated in public all over a tip that I was going to leave for the guy anyway. Like I said the food is good, just make sure you establish with your waiter that you're leaving a tip or they may kick you out. read more

The food was good, especially the hot and sour soup. Unfortunately I came on a weekday, leaving at 2:15. I was charged $10 and change, but the sign said seniors between 2 and 3 o'clock, get a price of $5.99. It also said that seniors get a 10% discount. I didn't see the sign until I paid, so I asked about it, and was told that I didn't get the discount because I didn't point out to them that I was over 60 years old and I didn't get the $5.99 because I was leaving between 2 and 3, but I arrived before 2pm. When I arrived I thought the atmosphere was great and that I was going to have a good experience. That all changed when our waiter totally disrespected us. I don't know who she was but if you have ever seen pacific rim she looked like the female main character "mako". She was extremely rude before we ordered anything to drink she counted out our straws and then threw them down as if she had all five pieces of exodia. Love me some Buffet King! Friday's and Saturday's are when they have their crab legs on the buffet. I can sit for over an hour and just eat them alone, but I don't, I always start off at the Mongolian Grill first and have salad along side, then it's look out crab legs! Hubby loves the all you can eat sushi, which is always fresh and delish! Lot's of other items on the buffet that are great too, like the chicken on a stick. Always moist and delicious. Sadly I hardly ever have room for much else by the time I'm done with crab legs, but there are times we've gone and I've eaten several other dishes off the buffet that were really tasty too. Over all, great place to go if you have a ravenous appetite. The service has always been spectacular, the servers know when to pick up that empty plate and when to refill your water glass. I have eaten here a number of times and the experience is always the same. Food is about par for the course in a buffet, the mongolian grill is pretty good, but I primarily come here for the "sushi". They have a pretty good variety and it has always been fresh. My biggest issue with this place is the wait staff. Every time I have been here, they have been borderline rude. Very few of the staff are actually friendly or will return a smile. I tip above the % and expect a certain level of behavior from the staff. I can understand a bad day here or there, but the staff always acts the same here, every time! This price is higher than most of the buffets in the area, and frankly, I think I am going to stop going to Chinese buffets altogether. There are a lot of other places to eat where the people are friendly. read more

I have been having a hard time in finding good, authentic Asian food (NOT THAI) in Denton. My mom visited from Plano (where Royal Chopsticks was my best friend) and insisted we should just "try" this buffet. If she wouldn't of spent about 30.00 on both of us, I would of asked to leave. Everything was cold, slimy, no flavor and looked like it had been sitting out since lunch time. We came in around 7:30 PM, so not too late, not too early. The only good thing I found that I liked was the soft serve ice cream. My mom also complained that the shrimp was not cleaned very well and she is not picky at all when it comes to food. I eat here 3 or more times a week usually for lunch. They have discounted prices after 2 PM and senior discounts. Good food and quick service. I would recommend it to my family and friends. read more
