I went last week, huge selection but absolutely nasty. Noodles greasy, seafood warm, and crab over cooked and sour.

Easily the worst chinese food I've ever had. Food was greasy, unappetizing, and I'm pretty sure that the chicken that was used for the sweet and sour chicken was slightly spoiled. Brought this to the attention of the person when I paid my tab ($12 for literally 2 bites of food, what a bargain!!), and they acted like it wasn't a big deal. I really liked this place, I took the Family with and there where endless choices. The Sushi is very fresh and tasty and the Wahhabi was great not pasty. I thought that the Mongolian grill had several great options and sauce combinations. There was a huge selection of authentic Chinese food to for the more daring "I love it". One very good compliment I can make about this place is that everything I ate was fresh and HOT. I hate the giant Buffet Chinese places that let food stay in the warmers too long and the food gets dried or cold and nasty. None of this stuff here, the food was great and the choices were good ,service is very good but with our particular server we had some communication barriers. I wouldn't even give them 1 star but I had to. This place is nasty. The chicken was mush because it had been sitting out all day. The fruit had no flavor the fried rice was dry. The noodles and shrimp fried rice were so nasty we spit it out. In fact all the food looked like someone spit it out and it was put back to serve again. This is my favorite Chinese buffet, period. It was a staple when I lived in Denton for college back in the day. I recently was in town and went back. Just as good as I remembered. Obviously it is a buffet so do not expect the same quality as a regular restaurant but they keep the dishes hot and since it stays busy they keep coming out with fresh refills. The sushi is okay for what it is but the hot dishes are great. The buffet is under $10 for lunch. Always ends with the mixed soft serve cone. read more

Unfortunately, on the weekend (which begins on Friday here), and for dinner, the prices for seniors jump from $6.75 to over $13, even for lunch. The food was good with a nice variety of choices. All the essentials were there to include octopus and sushi bar which is a plus. The desert area is typical of most buffets with a working ice cream machine. I note that due to previous experience from other buffets you get shorted something. The table attendant kept the drinks coming and quickly cleaned up your used plates. All and all it was a good experience. read more

This place was pretty great! Definitely one of the better Chinese buffets in denton. It was very clean and there were tons of people. The food was fresh and there were plenty of employees I saw checking to make sure it was all good throughout our visit. My one problem is that I think some of the warmers weren't working well enough; the food on some of the buffet tables was nice and hot and in a couple of areas it was just kind of warm. We recently moved from Hawaii and was amazed to find Buffet King that serves food we would have been craving! The Mongolian stir fry offers a great variety of meats, veggies, and noodles. The sushi bar is fresh and offers a decent selection. There is an offering of fresh fruit and vegetables including a variety of hot appetizers and chicken, meat, fish offerings. We go during the senior discount time, between 2 and 3:30 p.m. and the food is fresh and appetizing. There are also other discounts available. And it's our family's favorite place! read more

I went on a Friday night. They were suppose to have crab legs. Well let me tell you the crab legs didn't look like the ones on the commercials!!! They looked more like daddy long legs. They were very small and that's if you could get any at all. People would stand there and wait till they came out and usually 1 person took half of them. The other food that was fried was more chewy than crispy and the meat was kind of tuff like it was in between lunch and the dinner run. I was very disappointed with the food. So bottom line is if you're going there for the crab legs don't go!!! read more

Okay, I go in and ask them to point out all of the food with oyster sauce because I am extremely allergic. The lady brings out another man and they tell me all of the foods that I can not eat. So after a couple minutes they come to my table and tell me that the black pepper chicken that they told me was okay HAS oyster sauce. WTF...now I have to wait 3 or 4 hours to find out how severe it will be. Sometimes I can't breathe and need immediate doctors care, however 99% of the time I get sick as a dog and cannot function for about 4 or 5 hours while laying on the bathroom floor. read more

This place is somewhat always busy. The food is decent, the staff NEVER smiles, so don't expect great service. They always keep their food stocked. Most of the items have sugar in them, even if they are supposed to be spicy and savory. They do have a Mongolian make your own plate, which is good, they also have hand made sushi which is good as well. We love this buffet. My wife and I return here at least twice monthly. We really enjoy their their Mongolian Grill and fresh Sushi; the typical (American) Chinese dishes are always fresh and tasty as well. On occasion we come Friday or Saturday for dinner with the Crab Legs. YUMMY! The low price is one of the reasons we return. read more

If you enjoy greasy Chinese food that tastes like it was made a week ago..then this is your new go-to spot! The fam and I were in Denton one Saturday and the husband had a "brilliant" idea of going to a Chinese buffet. Now, I was hesitant, but since he never gets to pick where we eat, I decided to go along with it. When we got there, I quickly realized just why he never gets to pick. Obviously I wasn't expected a 5 star meal, but I was expecting a 5 day old meal either. Sheesh! Everything that looked safe to eat tasted like straight grease. I think they just kept recooking things as it got old. Who knows. All I know is that it was horrible. I thought things were turning up when I saw they had creme puffs on the dessert table. But when I picked one up, they were so hard! No no no no no. To add insult to injury, it cost us about $13 per person. Tears!!!! read more

I wouldn't say Buffet King is anything amazing, but it will satisfy a craving for Chinese food! There is a pretty large selection of foods, plus there is a Mongolian section which is a nice plus. I would say the prices are about average, $11.99 for Dinner on Friday or Saturday, I believe $9.99 for lunch on the weekend, and $7.99 for the Lunch buffet Monday through Thursday. I would definitely pay $8 for a lunch buffet, probably not $13 for the weekend dinner on a student's budget! Overall, I recommend Buffet King and the food tasted really good. read more

It's a buffet. I didn't get sick or food poisoning so it passes that test! Service was good, people were friendly and they seemed to be replacing food items at a good rate on a very busy Sunday afternoon. I would defintely rate it higher than Red Peppers but they still could have had more traditional Chinese entrees. I will eat there again, but probably not anytime real soon - my waistline cannot take it! read more

One of the best Asian buffets I've been to. If you are looking gourmet, why are you doing to a buffet. The food is fresh and well prepared. I really like the Mongolian grill side of it and the Sushi is great. If you want a more upscale Asian, go to PF Chang's, this is a buffet, so not sure why previous reviews knocked the place, it's a buffet. read more
