Let me start by saying that I am from Spain, and I generally cannot find good Spanish restaurants. Bulla definitely surpassed all of my expectations. The atmosphere was very nice. The music playing was super what Spanish people are into in the moment. The bar area was really chic. The food was absolutely fantastic and super authentic. We ordered a little bit of everything and we also had the brunch prix fixe menu. We decided to splurge and get the Iberian ham and it was definitely worth it. The cheese was really good on the charcuterie as well. The tuna tartare was really good, but definitely not Spanish ha ha. The paprika potatoes that came with a burger. The croquettes were delicious! I was super happy that they had torrija for desert. This is a seasonal dish in Spain that I don't usually get to try often. The goat cheese ice cream was superb. The service was the thing that fell. And, it was a great choice for me and the rest of my colleagues. The place looks very cozy and very awesome location. A bit upscale however, price for their food in the menu is very reasonable. The staff are very friendly and they have been very helpful in recommending what is best on their menu. We ordered grilled octopus salad, garlic shrimp and paella mixta. Everything is freshly prepared & deliciously good. Good portion is very good and can be shared with 2-3 people. Highly recommended to everyone who's in the Legacy Plano, Texas area. We went there yesterday as a party of 4 for dinner. I particularly choose the restaurant since spanish food always excites me because of Tapas and Paella. But unfortunately, bulla didn't thrill me with their food and it's flavours. Regarding, covid safety, the staffs were masked, there was a sanitizer near the entrance. But there were a lot of people inside. It appeared to me as if it was 75% occupied. We started with drinks. I hated my first drink and had to exchange with my husband since he thought mine was okay. May be it was not just for my palate. My friends ordered beers which took so so so much time to come to the table. We were informed they were changing the case of the beer. Since those 4 drinks were the first drink on the table we would have appreciated if all were brought at the same time. Had to raise a toast , and the beers took forever to arrive. Our next drink was Palmer, which all of us enjoyed it. For tapas, we choose grilled octopus. The portion seemed less for the price ($18). This isn't the best octopus I have had , but it wasn't bad. Next we ordered garlic shrimp, not seasoned well , too much butter. And the bread they gave with it was the smallest ones I could ever imagine a bread to be. We followed with fried calamari, which was good. Then we ordered their skewers, both pork and chicken. I personally thought it had less salt. Overall the tapas was subpar. Next , we ordered two paella, the chicken and shrimp. We had been informed by our server that one paella would serve two , but when it arrived they were two big portions. We had to to-go one whole paella. If only we had been informed correctly about the portion then we could have ordered just one. When we expressed our concern, our server replied "I could always pack the remaining". In respect to the paella itself, the rice want cooked well, it was very oily and it lacked the authentic of the dish. As far as I know, socarrat (crispy bottom of paella) is the key element of the dish . But unfortunately the crispy bottom was missing which hugely disappointed me. I might not come back again for food , but may consider to return in summer for their palmer cocktail to enjoy in their patio outside. read more

My husband and I wanted dessert and popped in to Bulla for just a quick bite. Bulla is beautiful! We got a seat at the bar because the place was packed, and so we ordered drinks too. We got the lemongrass Collins and the proper gin and Tonic. Both were so good! They were light and refreshing, and the gin&tonic had a hint of unique flavor because of the star anise. While looking at the menu for desserts, the ceviche caught our eye so we ordered that along with the churros! Weird combination, I know, but we just had to try the ceviche. No regrets. That ceviche was SO GOOD! Very pretty presentation and packed with flavor. I would recommend it if you're into seafood...and even if you're not. The churros hit the spot, but the ceviche was the lucky find for us! We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu next time we're in Dallas. read more

And so, I ended up ordering the sopa de garbanzo frito and paella of the day. My spouse ordered the patatas bravas and half chicken sandwich. We also ordered churros for dessert. I am updating my review after being in touch with management and returning for a second visit. First, I appreciate that Lara responds to reviews with an invitation to connect with a manager. I took her up on it and got connected to Brandi, who asked me for my feedback and invited me back to the restaurant. Things went much better this visit. Our server Maryna was very attentive, and Brandi herself came to check on us a few times. I had a chance to order some new dishes (the only repeat from last time was the grilled octopus) and, while not all were my favorites, they were well executed. Here's what we had this visit: - Brisket montaditos: This is one of my favorite things from Bulla Gastrobar from my two visits. The tomato marmalade on this! - Stuffed piquillos: Piquillo peppers stuffed with beef and served atop scalloped potatoes. There were some delightful surprise crunchy bits in the potatoes. - Serrano ham croquettes: Not the most flavorful thing but the texture inside each croquette was nice and creamy. The fig jelly that accompanies the croquettes was a nice touch. - Roasted jalapeno ceviche: The leche de tigre in this ceviche definitely punches you in the face, but I liked that about this dish. The plantain chips were lovely. - Grilled octopus: I don't know if we left it on the table too long before diving in. It was a little cold, but they delivered on the tenderness of the octopus. - Pan con tomate w/ serrano ham: We added this at the last minute and our server suggested adding the serrano ham. It was a good call. I've had pan con tomate at different tapas restaurants and I've both been blown away and been underwhelmed. The one at Bulla is decent, but I think the ham definitely helped a lot. We also ordered two cocktails. I had the Bougie Palmer, which I adored. I'm obsessed with all things peach, and the peach oolong lavender syrup in this drink was so yummy. M ordered the Lemongrass Collins, which was very refreshing and less sweet than the Palmer. After a couple of visits, I have now tried a good amount of the menu and have a mental list of what to get again if I were to return. I appreciate Brandi reaching out and inviting me back. The food is incredibly mediocre and pales in comparison to anything you would find in the Catalan region of Spain. We hd the paella and jamon iberico which both were lacking in flavor. You can get a 4 person paella in Spain for the same price as a single serving entree here, so I was expecting some quality. The sangria is also comparable to a supermarket drink. Going to Bulla Gastrobar was on my list for several months to go to. Mainly it was the intrigue due to attempting to dine there twice but them not having any openings. So it was a major win for me when we tried a third time and scored seating. I will say the ambiance is nice. It's dimly lit and the crowd seems pretty sophisticated. It's not super loud or crazy. So if that's what you are looking for I don't recommend it. When we were seated we browsed the menu. As someone who had never been to a Spanish Themed Eatery I would have really enjoyed visuals on the menu to see what the different dishes were. Due to this we stuck with the small plate of shrimp stuffed jalapeños as our appetizer. It was delicious and nicely seasoned I must say! We ate it so quickly I failed to take a pic!! After this we ended up ordering the seafood Paella. I believe it was around $46. I had been wanting to try some forever. It took them a bit to bring it out because they made it fresh, and when I took that first bite I realized..., it was just Meh! The dish was somewhat bland. Despite the saffron rice and variation of seafood it was just ... okay. My colleague and I both shared the same sentiment. We didn't hate it but were little disappointed especially for the price. I went home and added Sazon, old bay, and it brightened up the flavor big time! Overall this was a 7/10. My husband and I both got the Bulla Burger with a Flatbread and Patatas Bravas. OH MY GOODNESS, the food was amazing. The patatas bravas had a distinct, zesty flavor of warm spices. The Flatbread was delectable. The flavors were fresh and tangy, with a bit of crunch. The burger? It was DIVINE. The rich, nutty flavor of the tetilla cheese paired excellent with the charred patty. It was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. We ended our lunch with a nice dessert. We ordered the coconut flan with the passionfruit sorbet. The sorbet can be a bit too sweet, however, the coconut flan was perfect. The richness of the flan made the flavors pop with excitement. My first experience with Bulla is an online order for delivery. I specifically asked for utensils since I am out of town in a hotel and I didn't get any. Also the delivery person (Qwueris?) had to text me and ask for my room number when it was also noted in the order. That is good I suppose rather than the order getting lost. Supposedly the order was prepared by Tanaya. But it's as if no one cared much about the order and how it will be delivered. I'm disappointed. Delivery service is below par. As for the food, the carbonara was a bit salty. The grilled octopus was nicely cooked but the puréed corn lacked in seasoning. Both were delicious but that ceviche will be what brings me back. Stopped in last week for a team dinner with employees. We did not have reservations and yet they were able to seat us in about 10 minutes (there were 10 of us). We had a variety of apps, drinks and the chicken and mixed Pallela. We ordered a good portion of the menu. Our server was friendly and prompt. Everything was delicious. We are always looking for restaurants that serve tapas. The dishes we had at Bulla were amazing. We ordered the Albondgias and sautéed garlic shrimp. Both was seasoned to perfection and I found myself soaking up the juice from the veal with my bread. Everyone knows the flavor is in the sauce. We sat at the bar and was greeted with a warm smile and great service. The couple next to us was amazing and we chatted as we were old friends about traveling to Spain and Argentina. I don't remember there names but, we enjoyed the conversation. The high quality of food and drinks serve was refreshing and definitely a welcome additional to billion dollar row in Legacy West.
