    Mediterranean Chicken Salad - fabulous!
    Cynthia C.

An easy walk to this cozy spot at the base of residential apartments. Lighting is subdued and walls are effectively separated out using paint colors that remind me of Italian vineyards. Deep purple, earth green and terra cotta red embracing rustic poured concrete floors while soft lights hang overhead. Nevermind! The food is fantastic! Hubs selected a generous 8" personal pizza of ham and cheese and took 1/2 to go because he was full btwn the pie and the appetizer of meatballs in sauce I ordered to compliment my delicious Mediterranean Salad. Tender, juicy chunks of chicken breast, simmered in EVOO, white wine, light tomato, onion, garlic, black olives & mushrooms sitting atop a bed of field greens, including radicchio and arugula, two of my favorites. Topping my salad was a generous serving of soft feta and everything was so fresh and yummy. Chelsey took care of us, was a professional, friendly delight and checked on us regularly. Unfortunately, the soda fountain wasn't working so the "unlimited refills" were replaced with cans of Coke (2 max). We strolled back to our hotel, pizza box in hand, bellies full and happy we found Buono's Pizzeria. We shall return. Cheers! "CC"

overcharged receipt and something i didnt order

I'm from Jersey, so I'm picky about Italian food. Their regular pizza is super thick and doughy. It was not great, but passable by California standards. I also ordered a chicken parm sandwich that turned out to be a RECYCLED CHICKEN CLUB. It had mayo on it and was coated in egg-flour batter instead of panko breadcrumbs. I immediately was disappointed, but assumed the breading being wrong was due to the restaurant's lack of culinary intelligence, not that they were trying to pull one over on me. I only got about three bites into the 12" sandwich before I realized how off it was (it had a faint bacon taste, and I noticed mayo on it) and asked for a refund. I'm telling you, a chicken parm sandwich made with fried chicken instead of panko breaded is weird. I really didn't think it would be THAT bad. When I showed the manager a Yelp review photo of the ACTUAL chicken parm (clearly panko-breaded), she lied and said the sandwich is "done differently." She also tried to claim the mayo was cheese, and got real quiet as I stuck my fingers inside and demonstrated the mayo-ness of the substance. Then she spent 15 minutes fumbling with the refund, claimed they "don't use receipts," and pretended my card wasn't in their system, even though I'd signed a receipt when I ordered. Eventually I got my receipt back. It said CHICKEN CLUB (and I was overcharged anyway!!!). A really strange interaction with management. Probably won't be back, but the patio was nice.

    Mozzarella Sticks , 10 out of 10!
    Sandra L.

Buono's Pizzeria is located on Ocean Blvd. in the city of Long Beach. I ordered a few pasta dishes and mozzarella sticks to share, it was all very flavorful. The mozzarella sticks were the best I've ever had! I think my only complaint would be that I felt the Alfredo sauce was too spicy. I'd never had Alfredo sauce that was spicy, this one definitely had a kick to it. Customer service was decent, zero complaints! I won't claim to be an Italian food connoisseur so I can't speak on it's authenticity. Decor was nice, good seating, it's close to the beach so it's nice and airy. Looking forward to trying their pizza next!

The patio door, outside seating, lots of space a water fountain and it's a beautiful day

Yes!! Completely different from the location off of Willow st. DT Buono's is larger, there's a legit outdoor seating... beautiful scenery, the food tastes better (to me, my opinion) and the staff was super helpful. I think her name was Alyssa??? If I butchered your name I'm sooo sorry doll face, but her energy was on point, you can always tell when someone is being overly friendly....... Well that not her she's sincere and inviting and I appreciate it. Now down to my order. Personal pizza 8" double pepperoni & pineapples ( argue w/ your man, not me because pineapples BELONG!! And a sm salad. Yum.

Came for happy hour. I didn't care for the pizza, too thick for my liking. We ordered the buffalo wings 10/10. The pasta was amazing I added shrimp and garlic. The free salad bar was delicious.

This was a free pizza from a coupon so I can't say no to that! It was piping hot when picked up. It looks great. Crunchy edge crust. The cheese and pepperoni dominated the pie, it was hot so I honestly could not pick up a slice without it all falling off. Front of the slice was not crispy enough to hold it together, so I had to shove it in Overall it was a good pizza and I would order from there again.

Buono's was a regular spot for me to visit in the late 80's, early 90's and early 2000s. Whether it was for pizza, sandwiches, or lasagna, they never disappointed. Ate at the ocean blvd location recently during a visit and had pizza, and it was as amazing as I remember. Keep up dishing out great food!

Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken Breast
    Catherine E.

The small Caesar salad with grilled chicken was the best I've ever had in my life! Medium Size-12" Margherita also . The dough/crust is perfection - puffy, soft inside, crunchy outside. This is definitely a lot of food for party of 1. I sat on the stool looking out window. Best seat in the house! Facing a busy street and park. Fun for people and palm tree watching. I highly recommend. Superb job Buono's Pizzeria! I will be returning every time I'm in Long Beach!

We were well into our first big plate of salad before I remembered to get a picture or two.

This turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise!! My wife and I are here for a week, primarily visiting family. We're not fans of thick crust pizza, but Buono's is only a block from the Marriott Long Beach Downtown hotel where we are staying. So we decided to place an online order, and I walked over to pick it up. Week ordered a pepperoni, green pepper, and garlic pizza, and a caesar salad. It was ready in less than the estimated time. The first thing I noticed when I picked up the food. It was heavy! And when I got back to the room and took a look, wow! The salad was huge! It not only filled the plastic container, but was mounded in it with two containers of dressing. We each had a plate full of salad, and that just ate down the mound, leaving a full container for a second meal! For perspective, we ordered a caesar salad from room service in our hotel on another night. It cost nearly twice what the Buono's salad cost. And while it was good, the pricy hotel version was considerably smaller. There was nothing left over after we finished that meal. And the pizza? As I said, we usually seek out thin crust pizza. But one bite into this one changed my mind! The texture and taste was incredibly good! I'm not going to attempt to describe it, but it was far better than I expected it to be. It vaulted Buono's up our mental chart of best pizzas we have ever eaten. Buono's was not busy on this Monday evening. I hope that's not typical, because this pizza is very, very good. And we'll be having leftover pizza for lunch today, and the next round of salad for dinner along with a sandwich or something from room service. My advice. Give Buono's a try. I doubt very much that you will regret it.

You gotta give it up for a family run business. The back of the menu has a great story. If you get some time when you do a sit down dinner, read it. Tucked away in a mixed business-apartment complex you will find the Long Beach location. There isn't any parking in front so it is a little hard to spot from the road. The is public parking close by. You will pay to park and walk a little to get here. We wanted a nice, Italian dinner on New Year's Eve. We walked in and the place was moderately busy. Thank goodness. Everywhere else had a wait list. We got to choose a table and someone promptly came for your drink order. Mind you, there isn't a bar here. Quite a few brands of beer. Limited but manageable wine list (1 brand of merlot, 1 cabernet, 1 chianti, etc.). We ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took a reasonable amount of time to get those. We talked while we ate breadsticks. We had some good, standard choices and order our meals. I tried the vegetable lasagna. My partner had the pizza. The meal came and we were ready to eat! It seems like a good meal. It is the place you go to as a third choice when you want something out of the ordinary. I am not saying it is bad. Just not my fist choice. Bathrooms are clean and staff are nice. Let's face it, I came on New Year's Eve. I applaud the staff for showing up. Nobody wants to work on holidays and they came in to work.

My pizza with sausage pepperoni and mushrooms. Ask for extra sauce and cheese you're welcome. ,; )'

My orders of late for food are mostly from DoorDash and stopping by on occasion is rare but it does happen. I live nearby in the downtown area and have had Buono's Pizza before and now that it's closer to me I have to buy it for convenience especially on days I don't want to cook. The restaurant is clean the ambiance is chill and the service is great and on DoorDash when you place an order you will always get the same fresh made quality food wrapped secure and delivered hot. I ordered a large pizza with sausage pepperoni and mushrooms a side of marinara sauce blue cheese dressing and an orange Fanta soda. The pizza It was absolutely delicious nice and crispy on the edges semi crisp and chewy on the bottom the sausage was tasty and the pepperoni was bomb I'm obsessed with pepperoni and rarely dislike it on my pizza my only criticism would be the sauce it was very good but needed a little seasoning or salt just a bit more to bring out the flavor but I would definitely order it again and with extra cheese. 9/10 Marinara sauce Delicious it just needs a little more seasoning or salt but it's really tasty getting extra on the side was a good thing. 8/10 The blue cheese dressing was bomb as expected and when I dipped my pizza into it and this gal was in heaven I love that combo of flavors. 10/10 Ice cold orange Fanta it's soo refreshing what more do you want Shawn a Pepsi or coke please poured into a tall glass half filled with ice. Lol I'd love to try the fettuccine and spicy hot wings on my next order. Overall everything was excellent I recommend you give them a try you won't be disappointed. Visit early and eating take a drive over to The Pike and get some shopping in or drive over to the Long Beach Aquarium it's really nice and filled with interesting sea life and so much more I'm positive you your family and kids will love it. Just me Shawn C. ,; ),

We parked at a garage at the City Place Shopping Center a block away that has free parking for the first two hours, so it's definitely worth it. There's also some street parking if you can find it, but keep it simple and park at the garage so you're not worrying about time. I've been told that they check parking at the Burger King next door, so don't park there. The 4th Horseman is located off of 4th St & Solana Ct. It's a 21 and over bar, so absolutely no kids allowed (completely heavenly to get away from screaming brats for a while). There's a small stage in front for when they have bands, trivia nights, comedy shows, movie nights, etc. There's bar seating and plenty of tables all throughout the joint, so if you don't readily find a spot to squat keep on walking and you'll find something. It's a full bar, so they have whatever's your poison. For food there's pizza (by the slice or full pies), calzone, salad, brussels sprouts, and sourdough knots. We kept it simple and had the Slasher Pizza (pepperoni) with a Basic Salad. We sat in the back past the bar, which is where they have a pool table and a bunch of arcades to kill some time. There's a self-serve water station, but if you need anything else just go to the bar and they'll be more than happy to help you out. The pizza and salad were pretty good! If you're more health-conscious, they have a lot of vegan options to choose from. If you don't care about that, the pizza slices are huge and have the perfect amount of grease while you're pounding drinks! Honestly, I'm a big fan of The 4th Horseman! Growing up a metalhead, the music and atmosphere are nice and cozy for me. The employees were all really nice, which is always a big plus when trying something new. My only regret was not grabbing some of their merch on my way out, but next time we make the trip I definitely will!

When it came time to grab some food, we were able to get a table inside. Majority of the breweries tends to serve pretty much the same things, pizza sandwiches and salads. No complaints here. Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Simple but tasty. And then there was ham pizza I believe with onions and peppercini. That was also a favorite of the night. Overall, the place was quite fun. Not a big brewery and more intimate. Overall, it was solid--sauce had good flavor, cheese was decent, and the dough was nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a respectable slice. My only issue was the balance--there was a bit too much cheese for the crust, so even folding it New York-style, it didn't hold up well and kind of fell apart. A little more crisp on the bottom would've made a big difference. I also tried their Sicilian grandma-style focaccia pizza, and honestly, that was a huge letdown. It had this dusty, raw flour taste right away, was dry and spongy, and way overpowered with Parmesan. It just didn't come together at all--pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better. Ended up just picking at the cheese to salvage something. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the space itself is chill--nice casual vibe with a few tables inside and outside to hang out. All in all, the regular slice was decent, but the focaccia pizza really missed the mark for me. Probably not a spot I'd go back to.
