OMG, this place has THE BEST Italian food! Small cute place tucked away in Long Beach. Very clean inside with a nice atmosphere. Ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. It was THE VERY BEST I'VE EVER HAD. The flavor of it was so delicious. Just like you were in Italy! Must be a family recipe because its like definitely so wonderful. The sauce not from a jar for sure. I love the flavor and how they have the chicken and broccoli cut small so that all the flavors mingled in with the pasta. My daughter asked for her pizza well done and thin crust. She has asked other places for this request in the past and very rarely do they come through. Tonight at Buono's they came through. She loved it! Our server Dori was very sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this wonderful place. You won't be disappointed! Bon appétit! read more

Love the food so much so that I tried to make a reservation for a party of 20 but they were too busy to take my call. Called back after waiting for 10 minutes and the lady had time to explain that they're too busy with 3 people on hold and 5 people in line and is the only one there. Never again! This place has decent pizza but they are a total rip off... we ordered a large pizza and it literally looked like a small.. they insisted it was large... even when it was clear that it was a medium at best. We also ordered a chicken Caesar salad that was literally some wilted romaine lettuce and a few croutons... of course they forgot to put chicken on this expensive, awful salad. $40 for a small pepperoni mushroom pizza and a wilted ceaser salad... will never go back there! read more

Living in Bixby Knolls for a pretty extended time, there are a good amount of mom and pop pizza spots, I've tried most of them, they're all pretty decent. Went to couples hangout about a year ago and one of the couples brought this amazing pizza...and my household has been hooked ever since. This is PIZZA, love the flavor and texture..hot..cold..in between, its top notch. I've always been curious about this place and finally gave it a try today. They gave us a free bruchetta apetizzer. I wasn't expecting that so that was plus with their service. Pizza delicious. The bread is so delicious. Almost like a pastry. Salad bar is also great, green olives are my fav. Lastly we ordered the garlic fries, they were good not espectacular seemed from a bag. EDIT: Just went there a second time. Just one lady working in front and no bruchettas this time. Maybe is a lunch thing? I didn't ask. We had to order at cash register, lady advised. No biggie, just different treatment than first time. First time server went to our table and was always attentive if we had water or if we needed anything. We ordered a mushroom bacon calzone and the bacon was so chewy it was almost disgusting. Last time we ordered bacon pizza and it was great. This time it looked cooked but was chewy, so im guessing it was old. So service fluctuates. Still a good restaurant to visit. We had 3 dlls beer pints on Monday happy hour. We have mostly had the pizza and salad here which is actually pretty good. We normally get it to go as the inside is rather depressing. The lighting need to be updated to something a little more inviting instead of art white light bulb and fluorescent tube. It really needs to be updated with more inviting colors. We came here for Beach Streets, and stopped in because they had an outdoor seating area, and we're dog-friendly. We ordered the hoagie twist with chicken, meatballs, salad bar, bacon-cheese personal pizza, and meatball sandwich. Everything was great, the salad bar was super fresh, the hoagie was enormous and had a great dough. The pizza had a great crust; I make from-scratch dough, and this stuff was tasty! The meatball sandwich had a good roll. The meatballs were a bit institutional, but the sauce made up for it. Nico, our server was super accommodating, and very helpful. I'm not one to leave reviews for a restaurant, regardless of the service. Everyone has good days and bad days. Well my visit this night must have been one of their worst days. I placed my order on DoorDash for pick up in store. My order consisted of Linguini Gamberi E Vongle and a large Minestrone soup. My order is ready for pick and I head to the restaurant. I arrive back home, open up my linguini, and it's missing the shrimp. I call the restaurant to inform them. The guy at the register informs me that they will remake my order. I even asked if I should bring back the linguini. He said no, it's fine. Then I go to open my soup. According to the picture online it should come with bow tie pasta inside. Well the entire pasta is missing from the soup. So I proceed to call the restaurant back again. This time the same guy tells me please bring the soup back. I'm like ok fine. I'll be on my way now. Bring back the soup and not the linguini? At this point I feel as if he thinks I'm lying. I'm now starving and frustrated. I take everything back to show how the food was prepared. The guy I spoke to, literally just looked at me and didn't even grab the food he asked me to bring back. It just sat on their counter. They remake my order. He tells me he doesn't need any attitude from me. Now that comment literally brought tears to my eyes. Not once did he apologize for the mix up. I was so upset and lost my appetite. I left all the food there and requested a refund. I'm done ordering from Buono's. This is not how a paying customer should be treated. read more

Yesterday after work the family and I decided on pasta so we looked up the closest one with the best reviews here on Yelp. Buono's pizza was the closest one to us so we stopped here. Parking was in the rear enough room for about 5 or 6 vehicles. The decor is nice and everything is really clean. It has a feel of like a Louisiana style bar/club. Really nice environment. The food was all very very delicious. With the exception of my wife's spaghetti order getting mixed up with another table and the garlic bread being late I still give it 5 stars. My son and I shared our meals with my wife because hers was late but still had plenty left for ourselves. Long story short we were very satisfied and enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great pasta and pizza. Oh and try the sample platter...it was the bomb diggity. read more

Buono's has been a Long Beach staple for many years. I used to come here and order to go on many occasions for premium pizza nights. But after some recent visits, Buono's Pizza seems to lose some of its flavor. We ordered a simple "Half pepperoni, Half pepperoni and mushroom" pizza and in the past, an order of "The Buono's Special" it's the works pepperoni, sausage, ham, salami, mushrooms, olives, green peppers and sweet onions. Both in large sizes price ranges in $20-$25. Their pizzas looks delicious, and made hand tossed. But when it comes down to it the pizzas aren't as tasty and not as doughy. They're on point on the amount of sauce spread through out the pie but lacks flavor. I do like the amount of cheese they put as toppings to add gooeyness. On one of my visits, I noticed an individual there who was very aware of the tables he served, with a friendly follow-up and he was tasking very quickly. Overall, Buono's is A-Okay. The topping quality is not too bad, but can be better when it can be combined with a hint of boldness in the tomato sauce and doughiness. It's a good old L.B. establishment for locals who grew up here around they area, who aren't looking too far for premium pizza options. read more

The star system breaks down when one has to leave even 1 star. Such was the case when reviewing Buono's pizza. I had my one and only experience in 2010 when I brought a friend a Bouno's pizza who was checked in at Memorial hospital nearby. She and I should have just eaten the hospital swill. I still can't get the memory of how bad it was out of my mind. Put it this way, even Domino's or Papa John's would be preferable. And that's no compliment. The only thing Authentic about Buono's is their Italian name. I'm scratching my head wondering how anyone who's had real pizza could give more than the obligatory 1 star. MEH!!! read more

This review is based on the pizza alone. I have not dinned or picked up at this place before. We have had them deliver to our work place for lunches many times. Their pizzas are well made and have a pretty good selection of toppings. I like the crust its soft with a little tiny crunch to it but tasty of course I'm very simple so pepperoni and cheese are good enough for me and I like theirs very tasty they cheese all doesn't slide off on the first bite like some other pizzas. SoOoOo YUMMY! Listen, just because you've gone to one Buonos does NOT mean you've been to them all! Each Buonos is equally yummy but different! The amount of sauce and cheese varies per parlor but believe me "it's all good!" They also have a happy hour for like 8 bucks (all you can eat) pizza, Pasta, salad and soup. I had Buonos delivered to my hotel last night. You could tell the crust was hand stretched but it was a little chewy. The sauce was average and they use a decent amount of cheese. The pizza was good but it wasn't special. In fairness, it may have been better if I had ordered something different. I ordered the Meat, meat, meat pizza and it may have been a little much. I would maybe try it again and go with something more traditional. They did bring plates, cheese, peppers and napkins which I really appreciate. Overall, not Great but not bad either. Wrong pizza was delivered to me. Which the pizza they delivered was burnt. I just wasn't impressed with the experience at all.

I came around her Jan 1 2020 and I was walking around with the family and we noticed that this little gem was one of the few places open in the area. I have small children and you can't go wrong with pizza so we decided to walk in. We ordered a a large pepperoni and once they brought it out from the kitchen it looked like it was baked in God's oven itself. It was steaming hot with the cheese melting and bubbling still (kinda like that pizza from a Goofy Movie) The crust was golden brown and you could tell it was nice and airy and delicious. I grabbed the first slice and the way the cheese stretched down would make anyone's mouth water. I bit into the crust and the way it crunched was simply divine. Overall the quality of the cheese, pepperoni, crust and sauce were all great. I'm glad I took a chance on this place and I will definitely be returning read more

My family and I have been coming to this location since 1990 when we moved into the the Wrigley neighborhood. My father said, "This was best home style piazz ever." Even after moving out of the area my father would insist I would go and get the pizza "Buono's Special." We would even visit the San Pedro location because of our family business. After many years of enjoying Buonos, sadly to say we will no longer be valued customers to any of our 3 locations because of bad customer service. Nice... this is the kind of neighborhood restaurant from a generation or two ago. Cute place, great menu, beer/wine, and friendly staff. Food is really good but unfortunately I only experienced the sandwiches... which are great. Prices are right and there is a lot of food for the money. One of my favorite foods is eggplant, but one of the foods most restaurants do terrible is eggplant. So I rarely eat it anyplace but home. Well... I took a chance and ordered an eggplant and cheese sandwich. What a pleasant surprise that the eggplant was perfectly cooked, nicely seasoned, and was fresh. Not that old, greasy, breaded, dried-out, tasteless kind that other places so often serve. The cold sandwiches were great too. Coppacolla sandwich must have had 1 solid inch of Coppa. WOW, Wow, wow. This is my favorite pizza place of all time. I knew the phone number to this place before I knew the phone number to my house, back when the lbc was still in the 213. That's how far back me and Buono's go back. That being said, all these years later I'm still a super fan. Their pizza is the best. Cheesy goodness, deliciousness. I usually have them deliver, which has worked out great, but they do have a cozy quaint dine in spot with great service. Parking can be a lil tricky, but it's worth it. Pizza is great. I have to say I have been so disappointed the last two or three times I've ordered from Buono's. I grew up just a few blocks NW and man, they had the best pizza I had ever had. Recently however, they decided to leave the sauce off the pizza. What sense does that make? I ordered three pizzas last night to take home to my family and all three were bone dry - and that was despite the fact that I asked for extra extra sauce. $56.26 for 1 medium cheese pizza and 2 - 2 topping medium pizzas, with no freaking sauce. My kids wouldn't even finish one piece, so I had to run to Little Ceaser's to get them something they would eat. Sorry Buono's, but I'll never order from you again. I'll just stick to a Dominoes and Pizza Hut. At least they use pizza sauce. If I could give zero stars I would. So sad. read more

Oh my ! Am I the only one ? Am I ? Some folks yearn for consistency, other folks yearn for meals that are unlike and disimular from the meal we had the same day, last week. Whether you yearn for consistency or the opposite dictates your unique palate, and how far you are willing to venture off the proverbial culinary path. Buono's equals yummy yummy yummy, nom nom nom nom nom nom. Buono's sells a pizza named (Frute de Mare) or something like that, it's a seafood pizza, DO NOT let the name fool you. This seafood pizza is a five star meal within itself, by ordering this pizza your mouth will get blasted with all the savory, salty, tangy, and absolute yumminess that you are craving for. This pizza will knock your socks off. Interestingly so, I scoured the online menu and did not find the seafood pizza listed. However, at the pizza place it's on their Buono's store menu, and when I have called to order this pizza on a dozen different occasions the staff knows exactly what I'm talking about. This pizza is ABSOLUTELY delicious, the sauce is white cheese sauce instead of red tomato based marinara, the toppings include scallops, shrimp, maybe some crab meat, and whatever else is in season. I would ask Buono's staff to confirm the seafood pizza toppings because many seafoods are seasonal, and based on availability. It's $30 for a seafood pizza, seafood toppings are expensive, so make a decision whether your weekend dinner is gonna be a $5 dollar pizza and a fifth of courvoisier, or a $30 dollar seafood pizza and some ginger ale. I would go Buono's seafood pizza all day, everyday. The fifth of courvoisier can wait for another day. Enjoy !!!! read more
