We'd driven by Burger Me plenty of times on our way from home to the meat of the downtown area, but didn't think to try it (frankly, it seemed kinda like a greasy fast-food-y chain restaurant, at least from the outside). But one day we were feeling lazy and wanted burgers, and put in a pickup order. The burgers (and fries) were great! Large, juicy, and delicious. Only gripe is that the location isn't really my vibe, so I probably would only do takeout. The Bison burger is so good. It has jalapeño and bacon. Yum yum yum. The Stuffed burger is good too but not as good as the Bison. It had bacon and bleu cheese. The garlic fries were cooked perfectly. Juicy but not greasy. perfectly stacked and stayed together. Patty was perfectly sized 1:1 to the bun. Ratios were great. Lots of flavor. Onion rings were okay, thin onions and fried too crispy for me. Parking can be tough, its a narrow street so theres really no place to pause and wait for a spot to open. I came on a Saturday evening right before the dinner rush (around 5:30) so parking was easy to find and getting a table wasn't too hard. Service was 10/10 the people there were so nice and provided suggestions on what to order since this was my first time here. My friend and I ordered the Cowboy Burger and my partner had the NV Elk Burger. We all shared the onion rings, garlic fries, and sweet potato fries. Burgers were fire. I personally prefer the cowboy burger. Sides were also super good. I'm very serious when it comes to onion rings and was so happy to see they were super crispy and not too breaded. Out of the fries I preferred the garlic fries over sweet potato which I wouldn't normally say. Make sure to eat the fries while they're still hot. Was in town for a work event so we decided to try this spot. Guy has selected this as one of top ten burger spots on Diners Dives and Drives so we were excited. The place was pretty busy and I have to say I didn't see anyone cleaning the patio tables so bring your own disinfectant. I tried the Train Wreck , onion rings and a cinnamon sugar shake. My burger had chili and a fried egg but it was weird cuz there was also iceberg lettuce. I didn't care for the chili too many beans for me. The burger patty itself was 1/3 lb and good. The onion rings were delicious and the shake was phenomenal! Prices were on the higher side $18 for my burger combo. Anytime we come to Truckee, we have to stop at Burger me. Definitely started off on the right note being greeted/served by our guy, wish I got his name but you'll know him when you see him. Super nice and very enthusiastic, and honestly having someone like that take your order just elevates your experience, food tastes better, and your happy to be there. I'm a fan of trying new things and can't say I remember having had elk so I went with the cowboy, substitute with elk, definitely wasnt disappointed. Juicy meat, bacon just the way I like it (not soggy/overly fat), crispy onions, fresh Brioche bun and bbq sauce ties it all together. For some reason we got a side of onion rings and garlic fries, thinking we could eat it all, made a decent dent but definitely not for the light eater. That being said, garlic fries were my favorite, reminded me of being at a sporting event where they always serve bomb garlic fries for like $25. Onions rings held their own, not your average rings by any means, one word "Robust". Gf played it just right and got the slider which was perfect for her, said it had tons of flavor. We ordered regular burger with brioche bun add on onion, elk burger with marble rye bread and add on onion, sweet potato fries, garlic fries, strawberry malt shake, chocolate shake. Overall, food is ok and underwhelming. The bread on elk sandwich is soggy with wilted lettuce. If you happen to be near the town and not too far then it is ok to go try their burgers or other food, but if you are in Lake Tahoe then I wouldn't waste time to drive there for their burgers. The food and behavior served at this restaurant will not make you want to return. One of the employees at this restaurant made an offensive comment to my friend once we walked in. For reference, my friend is a 16 year old girl, and the weather outside was 81 and steamy. As soon as we walked into this establishment a bald employee told her to button her shirt up. This was said loudly and got the attention of the entire restaurant who then stared at her. She obviously felt extremely uncomfortable and violated by this. An underage customers outfit choice should not be any business of the employee. The one star is allocated to the quality of the food as well. We ordered multiple veggie burgers, one of which came with just the patty, though it was ordered with avocado. The avocado did cost extra. I always struggle to get myself to pay for a nice burger when I know I could just get In-N-Out and be very satisfied and happy. But Burger Me was a spot I knew I wanted to try, and I'm glad I did. The hype is real and for good reason! I really liked their setup and how they are operating now. The outdoor and indoor seating areas are both quite spacious. It was quite busy when we went, but they prepared our order promptly. All the servers and workers are incredibly friendly and kind. I got the Turkey Burger with Fries, Turkey Chili and a Salted Caramel Shake. The burger was fairly good and solid. I think it could have used just a tad bit more seasoning, but overall, I did enjoy it. The fries were pretty typical, and the chili was memorable as well. However, my favorite thing by far was the shake. It was thick, super creamy, dense, and decadent. The salted caramel flavor also really stood out. I ended up ordering their veggie bean patty on a gluten free bun with all the fixings, aka: lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, avocado, and thousand island. While I'm no expert on gluten free alternatives, I was surprised to find the bun and veggie patty to be equally as tasty as a regular burger! I also ordered a side of fries, which came warm and crispy - perfect for the snowy weather. We came here for burgers while waiting for the road to open in Truckee. The place serves an interesting variety of burgers as well as sides. I ended up getting the BBQ Bison Burger with Onion Rings. The burger itself was okay, I thought the bison meat tasted a bit drier but it tasted more or less like regular beef. It wasn't really all that special though, and was pretty typical standard fare of what you could expect at a burger joint. I do like that they had the condiments on the side and made they readily accessible so that if you wanted more of a sauce or item you could just easily get it yourself from the side bar. read more
