I feel like there aren't too many places with outdoor BBQ and I'm so glad my friends and I stumbled onto here! It's also a charcoal BBQ so there's great smokey flavor imbued in all the seafood. For three hungry people, the Master set is the perfect amount of food. We debated the set meant for 2-3 people, but we really wanted the hagfish ($42.99). The price difference between the two sets was about $30 so it made more sense to just go for the Master set (meant for 3-4 people). Staff were attentive and did all of the cooking for us. They'll cut the hinges on the big clams and cut the other pieces of seafood into tiny bits for you. The seafood was delicious and fresh, no fishy taste at all. For the Master set, there is a giant bowl of noodles at the end so remember to keep space for them. read more

Love burnin' shell and its predecessor (at the time, was DaebuDo). The menu compared to its predecessor were generally the same, though the value you got from DaebuDo was superior because you weren't gatekept from getting the eel behind the premium selection options (which now just costs more to order at burnin' shell). Despite this price strategy change, the food still tastes amazing. The barbecue charcoaling of seafood is a luxury you can't find across Koreatown, so this restaurant deserves its flowers read more

As far as I'm aware there aren't many places that do a seafood focused Korean barbecue style restaurant, and burnin shell makes me wonder why not?! As a guy who likes seafood, I wish I'd found this place earlier. Small clams, big clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, shrimp, anything from the ocean that can be grilled is here, and it's great. You also get a ton of side dishes to fill you up if the seafood is not enough, and honestly the amount you pay for these sets is very reasonable considering how much food you get in return. Id say service is not the fastest but when I was there the restaurant only had 2 servers working. But whenever I did ask them for help, they were quick to assist. read more

Loved this unique seafood take on KBBQ! My boyfriend and I had so much fun dining here. We were craving something lighter than KBBQ, and this was the perfect option. For the two of us, the crew set for $96 was more than enough food. It came with Manila clams, razor clams, baby octopus, scallops, sweet potato and regular potato, and alllll the sides. I love that they cook the seafood for you since we weren't sure how long everything should cook for. The standouts were definitely the scallops and baby octopus. I haven't had too many korean Jogaegui experiences but this one took the crown of all the ones I've tried (which is only 3). We got the Chiefs set and it included quite a bit of food for 3 people! We were all satisfied with the portion of the set and couldn't finish the yummy vegetable soup at the end. No wait when we came on a Sunday evening. Servers and host were really nice and seated us promptly. Really appreciated the servers cooking the seafood for us given I personally would overcook everything to be on the safe side, but having them cook allowed me to enjoy the meal to the fullest. Came with many different items such as cold spicy noodles, a really fluffy steamed egg, veggie pancake (that you can grill to make crispy if it gets cold), scallop soup, vegetable udon noodle soup, a Tteok-bokki soup, really yummy corn cheese, and the tower of seafood including clams (can eat them super juicy as soon as the shell pops open, or wait until the server puts it on the side for you :) ), mussels, big clam, abalone (cut into pieces), scallops, potato, sweet potato (yum!), some oysters, squid, octopus, and shrimp. For the most part, each of us were able to get a few pieces of each part of the seafood tower (there were plenty of clams to go around). 3 sauces to use, my favorite with the seafood was the slightly tart yellow one (without the wasabi). Absolute gem. There's not many Korean style clam "gui," or grill restaurants. My girlfriend came here and really wanted to bring me. I was so glad she did and this place is now in my top 5 places to eat in LA. The interior resembles a ship from the inside- not accurate, but I got the idea. I have been this place twice. I loved grilled clams and I used go to other places a lot but this place became a my favorite place. It's good for can sitting without waiting if you would like to sit on the outside but there has waiting list if you would like sit on the inside. I didn't want to wait so we choose eating the outside. They served us fast but you have to be patient waiting for fire. Side dishes were pretty similar to other restaurants but tasted much better. Clam or mussels or etc came out a little than other restaurants so if you are heavy eater, please order some of extra as I ordered extra clams. What a unique dining experience. It's rare to find a KBBQ place that specializes in seafood and no meats. And we really lucked out with this place. The place is small and not overall decorated, so don't let the social media videos fool you. But their food is unique and the servers attentive. Our server basically cooked everything for us on the grill since we were total newbs. And taught us how to eat everything and when certain items were done cooking. The only thing I would suggest is to serve certain foods first like the noodles came last and we were basically already done with the grilled seafood. It would've been nice to eat the seafood with the noodles and soup. We were a party of four so we ordered the Master set to share and the portion was just right since none of us are huge eaters but we were still pleasantly satiated. The fresh abalone was delicious and the live octopus was worth experiencing at least once. The coals died fairly quickly but our server came with the blowtorch to relight them. Our server didn't do the best job of explaining each course/side dish so people with limited experience in Korean cuisine may be a bit lost. This place is one of the biggest discoveries in Ktown! It's located in sort of an abandoned block of Koreatown so it might be easy to miss. My wife and I came for our anniversary. I ordered the combo for two! And I have to say they are great portions for a great price considering its quality seafood. They also have variations soju if you're in the mood to drink. If you have any food allergies as well for example one of the people in my party has a shrimp allergy and they accommodated our order for us. The only reason why I rate them 3 stars is because their food is good but the service fluctuates, when getting sat one of the servers let a party cut us after having us at the top of the waiting list. Hi I'm back. I found this place for the lobster not for the seashells the restaurant inside is cozy but little small so we decided to seat in the patio. Servers are all welcoming and did all the job for us you don't have to cook at all as well as the shells would be like that too! And the live lobster got revealed right in front of you! First time here, and service was good. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Wasn't too busy when we arrived as it was more so pre dinner time. We ordered the largest set (Captain (?)), since we had a group of 6. The bottleneck is definitely getting things cooked (staff does this for you), as it can take awhile. The food items were pretty good, but on the pricier side for the amount you get. Definitely not for a party of 6. It seems more people come here to enjoy the alcoholic beverages with the smaller sets. Ambiance was fine. I think I paid a little more at another Korean joint, which was WAAAAYY more food and worth the cost. Nothing bad here though. Good service and the food was good.
