First time visiting. The cashier was on a scale of awesomeness, didn't get her name but the energy she expelled was amazing. Sure she knows who she is because not everyone is on this level of energy. Ordered quinoa salad and mixed veggie plate. Quinoa salad was a little bland, you only get spinach and no other leafy greens, fair amount of food and fresh tasting. Mixed veggies had decent taste but small amount of food, fresh tasting. If you want vegan or veggie meal, it's a place to keep on the list. read more

I'd been wanting to try Bushfire Kitchen for a while and on a recent week day a bunch of work colleagues headed over. Overall, it was pretty good. Here is what I liked: - As others have mentioned, the concept is similar to Urban Plates. Maybe it was because it was my first time visiting, but the menu seemed more diverse than Urban Plates (which, frankly, has gotten a bit old and doesn't change out significantly). - I ordered the Californian burger and a side of fries...very good! - The atmosphere is very casual and nice, with lots of outdoor seating. Bottom line: I'll be back...anxious to try it at breakfast and dinner! read more

The trip tip gaucho is the best sandy hands down and their sweet potato fries are dynamite! Also their burgers and peri peri wings are fantastic! Amazing food, super quick, so many options, good amount of food for the price. The location is okay, in a plaza but their outdoor patio makes it so worth it. Pet friendly! You order and then it with your number and they bring it out. They have a Stubborn Soda fountain. Came in on New Years, on a Saturday and they had college football on. Also, they place awesome music. Classic rock from the 70s, 80. Decorated beautifully. Loved this place. Will definitely be back. read more

We are in SD to celebrate our anniversary. Found this restaurant via yelp, good reviews abound, why not try it? The decor is great and I can deal with having to stand in line to order (I am handicapped and have a hard time standing) what is uttely confusing is that you have food runners coming to the middle of the line to order and it feels like chaos. Cashiers were great and helpful. Placed our order and waited for 20 minutes to have only my husbands order come up ( he had a hamburger). He is always the gentleman and will not eat till I am served. We wait another 8 minutes and my meal is brought to me. All of my food was cold, sides and chicken/ribs too. I also orderd breast and wing. When I summond the runner, they took my meal back to the line and it was brought right back stating that they were out of breast and wing and this is all they got. I did not eat the chicken, but I paid for it. To add to the ambiance is constant loud chatter and cross talk from the kitchen, bells, chimes, alarms, and the loud ding of the manual bell to summon runner, did not allow the diners (us) to relax and enjoy the meal we paid $80 for. Maybe as a suggestion you page the runners with less invasive technology, like a cell phone ??? You also missed the boat on additional sales of beer and wine, we did take an uber so we could drink and not drive, but the idea of waiting in line with the possibility of getting in the runners way was not enticing at all. The burgers and empanadas were tasty. I had one of each empanada and the en fuego burger. Great customer service. Trudy took our order and checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. Good little place to grab a bite. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly empty. Employees were very nice and helped us with our questions. The patio is very nice and they are even dog friendly. And they even have a section for people who don't want to sit near dogs outside (which, honestly, who wouldn't want to sit near dogs). Food wasn't anything to write home about. I had a salad and my husband had some of their meat options. Food was fresh and good enough. My favorite item on the menu is the sustainable salmon plate. It's always two serving for me, the size of the salmon is generous. The online ordering service is speedy and I would recommend that particular menu item with healthy sides for a balanced meal. read more

Great Healthy food! Finally in Del Mar. I had the tri-tip salad which was fabulous and a friend had the Chicken Thai Curry Bowl. Both were sooooo good. I've eaten here before and it never disappoints. I pre-ordered online for a later pick up. The order was ready and warm....best pick up experience ever. For a place which such great burgers, I'm amazed that they don't have a burger on the kids' menu. I'd come here far more often if they did. Service is good, staff is friendly. I've only been to Bushfire once before and it was the La Costa location for a Yelp event a couple of years ago. I remembered that I liked it so I was excited to check out this newer location with a friend. Since we came during lunch, I felt like a sandwich was more appropriate than the plate and chose the Tuscan Chicken. Focaccia bread filled with free-range chicken, basil pesto, local avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onions (I skipped those) and housemade mayo, the sandwich was absolutely delicious! As a light eater, I only managed to eat half of the sandwich but I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I firmly believe that pesto makes a sandwich and takes it to the next level. My only wish is that they included a side with the sandwich. You could add a side for $3 or $4 but then you're pushing lunch into the $15 range and that's a bit pricey in my opinion. read more

Pleasantly surprised at finding this restaurant! It's in the plaza off of Mango St in Del Mar, and we always seem to miss this. We wanted to do something quick and simple for Father's Day, and I found something on the menu I could make vegan (yay!). I ended up having the avocado toast, and just had them remove the goat cheese. It also came with a side of seasonal fruit. My non-vegan family had the pancakes, French toast, and Nutella waffles. They all raved about the maple butter, and I sampled some of their breakfast potatoes. We paid less than $60 for for four people to have breakfast, AND my fiancé had a beer (they have tons of beer on tap), which is a pretty great deal in Del Mar! We've not ordered during COVID, FYI. They have delicious bowls/braises: short rib & lamb curry are my faves. Best part of bowls may be the grilled veggies which are plentiful & not cooked into flaccid yuck. They are still crisp enough to appreciate the taste of zucchini, carrots & onions. Personal note: I always get brown rice for health reasons, but their mashed potatoes are delicious!!Their BBQ ribs are quite good - meaty & delicious with good BBQ sauce as glaze. Their hamburgers are big & they have great combos of ingredients. Fries & other sides are good here. We especially like the Brussels sprouts. Salads are okay. Prefer the other stuff if I'm spending $$ & calories. read more
