The croutons were so crispy and airy - the most airy croutons I have ever had. I forgot to opt out of blue cheese because I don't like blue cheese but they had a light crumble of it in my salad so it did not bother and although that cheese is strong it was not overpowering in my salad mix. Updated 2023 Review: I came back to celebrate my partner's birthday and we were both extremely disappointed... the food and service both were lacking especially on a happy occasion. Our favorite items were taken off the menu. Their crab cakes and ribeye steak were phenomenal and usually paired with an amazing atmosphere. I asked our server who, the whole night, was always away (we had to hound down other staff just to refill our waters) about the items they took off. She proceeded either with a bit of attitude or tone that I must not have been at their restaurant for a while because they took it off a while ago. In any case, not just the lack of service/ attitude, the food was memorable for me to decide not to go again. The French onion soup was extremely salty which was why we finished water quickly and had to constantly look for other staff. No one was attentive and even towards the end of the meal, we had to get up just to find someone to help us with checking out... After the salty soups, we had our main courses. Because the ribeye was not available anymore, my partner ordered the burger which.. I thought even fast food burgers tasted better. The meat was okay, but the buns tasted just not good quality. My partner mainly ate the fries. I ordered the seafood pasta which for its price, you would expect for it to at least be decent. But it was actually really off? maybe because I wasn't expecting it to be a green sauce, I don't think it was even pesto.. maybe a vegetable blend? Either way, I think the sauce was off putting for me. The best part was actually the bread... the seafood tasted low quality.. I have had pretty good seafood pasta so this in comparison, was probably the worst I'd ever had. I had wrote it was my partner's birthday during the reservation, but our server had NO idea... didn't say anything. Even when I wanted to tell her, she was always away and only did the bare minimum of taking our order LMAO so I didn't even have the opportunity to let her know.. not sure why she had made that comment when I asked about previous items either. My family could not have been happier after our experience here at C Level. I booked a dinner for my mom's birthday and it was a first time for everyone. The service from the staff was impeccable and definitely made my mom's night. We like to share things family style and they brought us dishes to try each others entrees. We all loved our food, however, our add on lobster tail was overly salty that day. The drinks are pretty strong in my opinion as well. Other than that, my favorite items from dinner was the filet mignon, ahi poke stack, and the mud pie! The steak is cooked perfectly and is accompanied by mashed potatoes and broccolini. The ahi they use for the stack is soft and goes great with the taro chips. The mud pie is a huge slab of coffee ice cream with chocolate cake and fudge! So decadent but so good. We had great views and were kept warm from the heaters all night. I am glad I chose C level to celebrate big events! read more

C Level is on my top list when I'm visiting San Diego. I recommend you make reservations to avoid a long wait time as it gets fairly busy on weekends. Amazing night views, I can imagine how wonderful the view is during the day. I can't stress enough how wonderful the SD skyline view was. We got lucky and found a table on a Friday evening, even in the busy parking lot. Not only that, but we also got a table with a view. The staff was friendly, though a bit slow, but it wasn't a big deal. The food was actually good, and the atmosphere added to the experience. The view is amazing here. I believe it's better than the two restaurants that this place is squeezed in between. I've been to Coasteria and Island Prime both excellent restaurants but you have to look over the shoulder of other patrons to get a good view of the bay. There is a good sized enclave between Coasteria and C-level that provides an excellent backdrop with the water and the downtown skyline in the background. The evening view is beautiful from this small enclave. You do not need to eat at the restaurants to take the Kodak moment from this hidden spot. Beautiful views, hearty portions, and lovely wait staff. Came here for dinner, parking was easy in the lot. The restaurant seated us promptly even though we were early for the reservation. We got to sit in the lovely outdoor patio area. It was so lovely with the sea breeze but they also had heating lamps to make sure you don't get too cold. We ordered the crab tuna avocado starter with taro chips, was very refreshing tasted like poke on a chip. Then for the mains we shared the seafood pasta and steak salad. We were taken aback by how huge the salad was, like a mountain of green! The steak was flavor fully and very juicy. The seafood pasta had all sorts of seafood in it and the sauce was so creamy. I've never been here before, but my friend has been to the dinner version of the restaurant Island Prime. We were seated outside on the patio which was nice to get a glimpse of the beautiful views that San Diego has to offer. After taking a look at the menu, we decided to get an appetizer and two dishes to share. For the appetizer, of course we had to get calamari and for the mains we got Lobster and Fontina BLT and the Seafood pasta. The food came out relatively quickly and our server was nice enough to ask the chefs to split our dishes so we could each get our own plates! The calamari was definitely the highlight of the meal. The two main dishes were just ok, I think they were slightly under seasoned and they did not really wow me. Went to C Level for a brunch for a bachelorette and it was a great spot! This place was located in front of the ocean and the views were absolutely amazing! Service was overall good and the vibes were great. For food I got to try the lobster blt which was yummy. The sandwich was stuffed with a seafood salad and had cheese and bread that was toasted. This came with a lobster bisque sauce which was absolutely delicious and scrumptious. I think the bisque sauce really turned the dish into an amazing one. I'd go back for it. The oysters were fresh and delicious as well. For dessert, I recommend the potted brownie or mudslide. Been to Coasterra and to Island Prime so decided to check out the third restaurant owned by these guys. There are a lot of similarities between the three and food. Coasterra and C level both have the banana brownie pot dessert and they share the goat cheese appetizer with Island Prime and of course you can get surf/turf similar to Island Prime. All in all this is more of a chill lunch vibe than Island Prime. Lobster Bisque: homemade croutons. Rich, creamy, lobster cooked well. Solid. Chicken potstickers: tasty sauce, also solid. C level burger: damn this was greasy. If it wasn't greasy than we would have loved it. It's a hearty serving and comes with tasty fries. It was just a lot of grease where even the bottom bun was soggy. Chicken picatta: the chicken was cooked to perfection! This is full of a lot of veggies so if you don't like that steer clear. The potatoes didn't have a lot of flavor to them and I think he vegetables are meant to pack the punch here. Crème brûlée: came with figs which was an interesting new thing we haven't had with crème brûlée before. Solid. Pineapple upside down cake: the ice cream very tasty. A bit of spice like cardamom in it. All in all this was textured like a mix of Angel food cake and Bundt cake. Solid. All in all everything was solid but not necessarily blow your socks off. I thought the server did her best but I felt her section was too large, covering most of the patio area on her own plus one other person doing water and other support (who was attentive and great). listen... without our server Nicholas this review would have been lower. I want to start off with the fact that the food is really delicious. We had the melted brie which was so incredible. I ordered the fish & chips which are definitely worth it! The hush puppies are YUM. My boyfriend ordered the lobster blt which i recommend. However, it was a bit of a mess. I had a reservation for 7:30 pm. We got there & had to pay $10 for valet even though there is a giant parking lot & the same owners own all the restaurants in the area so I thought that was dumb, as we were already spending money to eat. Also, the hostess took a looooong time seating us for us having a reservation. We were not seated until around 7:50. The view of the ocean is nice but you are all outdoors so keep that in mind. Then, Nicholas came up and let us know our server was preoccupied so he would help us with drinks which I thought was really great because I don't think I could just keep waiting. He ended up waiting on us all night & he was super great. At the end, there was a 5% charge you had the option to remove from your bill to 'help keep prices lower'. I thought this was interesting because our to go bag had a TON of restaurants on it that were all owned by the same people and that 5% did not go to our waiter or the chefs. We loved the food, but I am not sure we will be making a reservation anytime soon. read more
