We first were seated next to the waiter station area were there was 2 waiters arguing. We then decided to be moved and you would expect that the waiter or someone would move our menus etc for us.. nope did not happen. We still were hopeful that it was just a busy day and staff was busy. We order food and drinks but drinks didn't come till way after mid our meal. We decided to order another drink while we waited and unfortunately the piña colada came with a hair.. at that point we just gave up and ordered our check. Manager did come by to apologize but you would think that for a restaurant were you're paying $26+ a plate that service would've been 100% better. We felt bad for the staff and still tipped 40% lol. View was great but just disappointed this was our experience for our anniversary dinner. read more

Food is always amazing. I love going right at opening for an ocean view table and fewer people. Free parking is available in the lot until the evening. I would eat their lobster bisque and ahi tower every single day. The mud pie is also notable because it is delicious and could feed an army. Service is usually great. read more

I absolutely loved this restaurant and their gorgeous views of downtown San Diego! I was in town for business and wanted to treat myself to a nice solo dinner. This restaurant did not disappoint. Their menu is extensive and had delicious seafood options and traditional selections as well. I was in the mood for a burger so I went with their wagyu burger and it was deliciously prepared. They had the most amazing aioli sauce and it was recommended by the bus boy to add crispy onions to the burger which made this burger one I'll never forget. I also ordered their organic baby greens salad which came with tomatoes, cucumber, blue cheese, cranberries, candied walnuts, balsamic vinaigrette. The blue cheese was top notch and made this salad delicious along with their fresh ingredients. I sat inside the restaurant where the view is still spectacular because there was a wait for the outside dining. I should have waited to be sat outside on their deck patio but it was a gloomy cloudy day and thought it would be too cold but it wasn't. The views are so breathtaking and is simply stunning perfection if you're celebrating an anniversary or a special birthday. Very romantic and completely different vibes outside. They have several heating lamps everywhere so you won't get cold during the winter. I will definitely come back to this restaurant to try more delicious food with that spectacular view. Also have to give a shoutout to my server Dusty who provided me with excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable about the menu and was sweet and patient. I drink lots of water and I never had to ask for refills as she or the wait staff was quick to refill water. Be sure to make a reservation for this popular venue. Like it says on the sign, they have a "view to dine for." I made our reservation about a week in advance by phone because they cannot handle larger parties online and showed fully booked anyway. I had to call numerous times because I didn't want to leave voicemail. With two of our family "elders" in our group, I wanted to be sure we could get a table inside given the hot weather forecasted. I was assured we would be seated inside. When we arrived, our wait wasn't bad at about 20 minutes for our table of 8. But we were seated outside, with nothing available indoors. Very disappointing. The harbor views are beautiful! Service was attentive and engaging. But despite what Yelp! Said at the time, the venue was very noisy, making it difficult for us to carry on conversations during our time together. I would definitely have chosen another venue. Then the food. For a busy Saturday afternoon, the kitchen was pretty quick. The food was beautiful, and tasty. Disappointingly, the food was over-salted. My dad had the fish tacos, which fell apart as he ate them because they were so wet. Actual fish was not easily found, there was so little. My cousin had the Wagyu bacon cheeseburger, which was also beautiful and tasty, but fell apart in the first couple bites because it was so wet. That stated, my sister's spinach salad with shrimp and my French dip sandwich were great, if over-salted. To sum, while this is an amazing location, "a view to dine for," while a cute play on words, now suggests to me, "come for the view, probably not the food." read more

I always enjoy this restaurant right on the waterfront, not only for the wonderful view of the bay, but their food and service as well. Today I had the French dip with french fries and the coconut shrimp appetizer. Both items were delicious. I really enjoyed the French dip. I would order that again. This is a great date night spot with a perfect view on the water viewing downtown San Diego. Sat about 15 mins after our reservation time, but overall the service was good- Our server and other waitstaff were nice and attentive. Started with a cup of the bisque- and if you have an appetite, get the BOWL because it's SOO GOOD! Our service started out really good and then quickly went downhill as our waiter was tasked with folding silverware and that is pretty much the end of us seeing him the rest of the meal. The mediterranean bowl was excellent. Fish and chips sucked. The fish and batter were completely bland, coleslaw was the worst I've ever had. Room temp when it was given to me. This is one of those places rich people like to eat at for the atmosphere. If you're like us and just middle class save your money and go somewhere else. We made reservations before coming on a Saturday afternoon. We got seated outside right next to an ocean view, which was nice. Our waitress patiently explained to us through the menu, giving us suggestions as well under each category. The food came out quickly and we didn't have to wait long. Lobster mac n'cheese- This was delicious and easily shared with two people! It was on the heavier side due to the amount of cheese given after a few bites. There was large chunks of lobster as well. Fish & Chips- Have to dip with the sauce! This wasn't amazing since it tasted like regular fish & chips. I felt like the truffle fries did not have the truffle taste to it. My friend brought me here on my birthday. What a nice surprise! I had never been here before or even knew it existed... It's tucked away behind the harbor. We each had a cocktail and the meat salad. Who could not love this place? Stay at the Sheraton close by and walk the short .3 miles and see ALL THE VIEWS!! Service is always spectacular!! I love anything "Deb's" bc she knows what is up! We visited C Level for our monthly meet up office lunch. The location is tops for sure, can't get a better view of the bay and cityscape without being on the Naval base in my option. Food was great, Tacos were exceptional looking! I had the wedge salad along with tapas - calamari and ceviche. The service was cheerful, talkative and super proactive. I have a habit of slamming down diet cokes without realizing it. And, I never hit the bottom, our server always had another coming at just the right time. Not that I need to be downing diet coke like it's my last day, but it's the service and food quality that makes or break dining out, especially when paired with a beautiful view and a higher end price tag. Coconut shrimp was pretty good but you don't get much. It was his birthday and they gave him a small apple pie that wasn't worth the calories but it was nice and said "happy birthday" on the plate. The view was very beautiful! Deff has that going for it! The service from the front, to the waiter....no one seemed like they want to be there and there was like 3-4 people working the front and they didn't seem like they knew what they were doing. I think this was hands down the best food and experience I have had living in San Diego so far. The view was exceptional, better than advertised in any picture. You have an unobstructed view of the entire bay and downtown city scape. You are literally hovering on top of the water, we even saw a jellyfish float past during our meal. The food was incredible, the skirt steak salad was so delicious we couldn't believe it. The poke melted in our mouths. I took my fiancé here for a birthday dinner and the service was impeccable. We had Mindy as our server and she was the best!! Shoutout Mindy. So incredibly on top of her work every step of the way, checking on us and thinking of every little detail. She even gave us free champagne as a birthday toast and recommended many things from the menu. She served the birthday cupcakes I had brought with the candles all set up beautifully on the plate. For appetizers, we had the calamari and oysters. The oysters were fresh and tasted great. The calamari was fried perfectly and paired well with the sauce it came with. The entrees we decided on were the fish and chips, seafood pappardelle pasta, and ahi tuna and salmon poke. The pasta was by far my favorite dish. I am obsessed with the creamy pesto sauce they use. Yummy food, drinks and ambience we where here too celebrate my son promotion from the USMC STAFF SERGEANT and Shannon took care of us like we family. She recommended my dish the salmon and let me tell you I have never had salmon that juice and the squid ink pasta was the bomb! She gave us a nice piece of cake to celebrate and it was delicious.
