I was in the mood for Vietnamese food, but wanted to try something new (for me at least) in the South Bay. Yelp came in handy! Although not in best area of town (homeless person's cart on the side of the restaurant opening), it was a cool set up. We got to sit in one of the private side sections. The design and grill on the table makes me think that it used to be a Korean BBQ place. Great service and I believe the owner waited on us provided us with recommendations. My staple dish is the Vermicelli noodles with pork and shrimp with egg rolls. I thought I should get the Pho since of the name, but couldn't resist my usual. My friend got the BBQ pork with egg and rice. Yummy for both and such large portions! We also ordered the Nem Nuong as an appetizer. Not as good as Brodard in the OC, however still tasty. I'm sort of a Yelp retiree but I come back occasionally when a spot is either really good or really terrible. As you can see by the five star rating, I am writing this review to try and ensure that this place survives the test of time. And since the Westside is devoid of any decent pho places, I must ensure that this place survives so I don't have to drive to OC everytime I want a good hot bowl of pho to cure my rainy day cravings. We ordered an x-large (xe lua) pho dac-biet with extra tendon and their house special beef salad with patty herbs. Both dishes were delish! The pho came out about 3 minutes after ordering it and it was HUGE! Broth was flavorful, yet light... definitely not for you hardcore greasy pho broth lovers. This broth is clean and very homestyle. I was stuffed after just eating a third of it... that's how big this bowl is. The salad (layers of sweet and sour marinated strips of beef, patty herbs, crushed peanuts, thinly sliced onion, and fried garlic slivers) is as tasty as it looks and comes with freshly made shrimp chips which I could just live on forever. In addition to the tasty grub, the owner and staff are super friendly and attentive... one of the best service I've ever experienced and also really clean. So, hopefully you'll check it out sometime and enjoy it as much as I did... not sure about the haters out there, but I'm glad I found it. P.S. The Vietnamese hot pot is excellent--and if you like lamb they have lamb. It costs more than your average bowl of pho, but if you have it family style, the cost per diner drops accordingly. Now for the pho: The pho broth is terrific--and the cuts of meat are great. The service attentive but not pushy. The ambience excellent compared to the more spartan, cafeteria style seating at other Vietnamese places. I only wish that the iced coffee didn't come ready-served, but I won't take a star off just for that. Check this place out! read more

I love this place! To be honest, I only came here and got takeout, but I was impressed with what I received. It's off of Rosecrans and Van Ness in not the best neighborhood but when you walk in, you feel like you're in a different city. The decor is so nice, colorful and in a way, elegant. I'm a HUGE PHO fan so I'm always looking to try new PHO places that show up! This place is very clean and unique with its private "nooks" they have available for seating. I also love that there are pickled jalapenos and garlic at each table along with chili oil sauce!! Few things: *PHO bowls here come in 1 size only = LARGE, I hope you're hungry! I am obsessed with their house special pork rolls and that awesome peanut sauce that comes with it. I get extra peanut sauce to go home and my vegetables in it. It's so damn good... I don't know so much about the decor. I don't know so much about the location (it's a bit sketch at night). I don't know so much about the Pho (I still love Hong Long's better... the broth there get's down and dirty with my mouth). But what I do know is that I don't have to drive all the way down to Brodard's to get my nem nuong fill. I've been eating Pho noodles since I was a child and have gone to almost every prominent and crappy pho restaurant up and down the West Coast and Northwest. The broth here is really good and the restaurant itself is pretty cool. They make it so you would have your own "room" to sit in and they have grills in the middle for if you want Korean food, although it may be good, but since it is titled "Pho Ever" I would recommend ordering the Pho. The owner is always enthusiastic and smiling so I continue coming here since it is nearby. read more

Finally posting a review after 8+ visits! This is one of my go to pho places, if I want a sit down experience. Food I always order the fresh spring rolls with fish sauce, and beef pho with a side of vinegar onions. I'm never disappointed. Add ons: Sometimes thai iced tea or coconut water. Service Always pleasant, everyone is prompt and respectful. And somehow we always get seated in the private booths which is nice with small children. Always, love that they have a yelp deal! Awesome place! I go to a school nearby and I just love going here with my colleagues. Aesthetically, one of the neatest and nicest pho joint I've ever encountered. There are plenty of space to sit, and not at all chaotic (well, at least not the hours we go in). Don't worry about parking, they've got enough for everybody. The employees are very polite. The menu is huge, but not to a point where you can't decide what to order. I personally love their seafood pho, and I love their spices too! With prices as cheap as everyone else, but with more solid flavors in generous portions, this place is a catch. Go try it! read more

Best broth Ive had. I consider myself a pho connoseur. I have lived in long beach and I never thought anywhere in the south bay area would come close and since before I had been here, no place did. For some reason or another their broth is their shining point IMO. Theres a bit more flavor and just has an all around taste to it that necessitates little to no additions to make it liven up (Basil, lime, hoison, etc) Spring rolls are amazing. Seating is another plus. They have sectioned areas that are great for those with families or children. I noticed they have grills for some sort of KBBq grilling but there is no need, their phone is the real deal. Managers are so friendly. Very Nice and always come by to say hi. Wish this place was closer and in a better area but Hey, it beats driving to long beach. One thing Id like to make clear. Ive been to other pho places and sometimes or a lot of times when you order a large portion you only get extra broth. That is not the case here. I am satified with portions here. read more

The absolute best Pho I've ever had! I came in with my friend and we had their amazing jasmine iced tea and some egg rolls to start. They came out fresh and hot and were very tasty. We order brisket and rare steak pho. The broth is absolutely incredible and the meat very tender and flavorful. The staff is amazing. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. I specially love that it's not too far from where I live so it's fairly easy & quick for me to get there. That's just an added bonus but does not add or take away from their five star rating. This was my second time here and I meant to write a five star review for my first time it slipped my mind. Upon arriving you are greeted promptly as you walk in. They ask how many people in your party and pending how many people you have you could either be seated immediately or have us like five or 10 minute wait. I love the seating arrangement here because there's community tables in the middle, of which you can sit with strangers and strike up conversation, and private booths on the outside. Some booths 4-6 and some booths sit 6-10 just depends on the crowd. My first time here I had a booth for me and one other person and my second time we sat in the more open section section in the middle. Let's get to the food now... The waiter gladly went over all of the options which include showing us and telling us about the different appetizers and entrées. I decided to have some of the house special pork, and sausage rolls before my entrée of Pho. The Rolls came out very quickly and were extremely tasty. The rolls are split in half so if you order 2 it looks like 4 and 4 looks like you have 8. I also ordered the Super Bowl which is a huge bowl of Pho that includes every meet the offer. Let me be clear this bow is extremely large and very hard for one person to finish in one sitting. I can only manage to do about half of the bowl. It was extremely tasty and full of flavor. I typically use the accompanying garnishments that include limes, leaves, and jalapeños for a little spice which only added to the taste and flavor of the bowl even more. As I said eighth is Bo I thought wow I have found a great Pho place near me that's affordable, quality food, and quality service - this must be what life is like in heaven! When I was finished eating as much is the Super Bowl as I could the waiter asked me if I wanted the rest to go - of course I do! He took away my bowl and packed up my to go box for me and basically I had an entire meal left over. What this means is the Super Bowl is almost a 2 for 1 deal- you can't beat that! I pay for my meal and took one of the deliciously tasty miss you get at the register and left this place in pure bliss and happiness. I work with some good ol' boys who wouldn't know Pho from Top Ramen so getting them to come here was a feat in and of itself. Oh, how I've endured so many "pho-king" jokes but that said, it's now one of our regular lunch spots. We usually all order the pho with the exception of Mikey who is now known as Mr. C18 by the dudes that work there because he always gets the rice with filet mignon. The pho is delicious, it's broth is almost a little sweet, meat to noodle ratio is good, and a big dish of bean sprouts and basil is more than enough to go around. The vietnamese "pancake" is delicious as well and their other noodle soup dishes have a nice flavor to their broth. I also appreciate the workers, they joke around with us and always make us feel like they want our business. The pho was nothing special, tofu with veggies, not much flavor in the broth, just meh. My friend had the beef pho and said it was really good. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my expectations were just a little too high because it looked so darn much like the places I visited while at Vietnam. The decor is really interesting. I have a feeling that the business was once either a korean or chinese joint. Anyways onto the pho. I wanted to stray away from my go-to pho restaurant so I decided to dine here with friends. I was impressed by the decor and the prices are great. 6-8 dollars for pho. The broth is definitely clean and flavorful, but maybe a little too clean. I missed some of the fat that lingers around your lips. One thing I disliked was the dining/private booths. It honestly made me claustrophobic. Some may find it cool or whatever. And I think they could use a little bit of fresh plants and pottery. Service is overall great and attentive.
