    Spanish latte
    Rox R.

Had a Spanish latte and scone. They almost gave us a matcha scone when we ordered blueberry. The Spanish latte was delicious. Scone was ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a great time visiting on the couch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music was a little loud since we were there to chat but still enjoyed the nice cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've seen this place while driving by all the time but never went in until today. The plaza where this cafe is tucked in is pretty dead but the shop itself is lively. The coffee was average and you can order all items at a kiosk which seems a bit outdated but suffices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The four stars are for the vibes this place has.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love that there's comfortable seats which is not typical for a coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They leave the doors open making it feel super open and helps keep the air fresh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's also a photo both which I think is a super unique touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely be back soon for my long study days.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This cafe is awesome--from the drink to seating to vibes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the pink lady ($7.50), strawberry cream with matcha and it was beautifully made and tasted good! My friend got the strawberry matcha latte and I personally liked that one more. The strawberry syrup was delicious but could've have a stronger matcha taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating in this cafe is so nice and it's so spacious in here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great for chatting or studying although I do find the music to be a bit loud that I can still hear it with my noise cancelling headphones[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are also so many cute things they sell here and a photo booth which i thought was unique![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would come here again

I went to their other location before and tbh I walked right out since Everything was sold out for some reason and just didn't seem appealing. I went to this location close to my work and even though they were out of matcha I opted for a chai latte which was delicious wish it could be bigger. I got their almond croissant and their chocolate muffin with cream cheese and those are both top tier! Would go back for those items again. Customer service is friendly as well. They don't have everything on the kiosk like some bakery items so you can also order with someone as well.

This place has been my go-to since I work nearby, but I stopped coming for a bit after a long wait once made me late for work. I recently came back on my day off and was happy to see the service was quicker. The banana and Nutella toast is still my favorite, though the bread seems different now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My drink was really good, and the vibe is chill and laid back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd probably come back again. I would've gave this place a 4 star but the bread change was definitely not it.

I visited on a busy weekend morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of seating inside and lots of parking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A great place to catch up with friends, but quite loud if you need a quiet study place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was also a photo-booth located inside for pics! Service was great. Shout out to Carol for being super sweet and helping me narrow down my drink. Everything came out fast. The drinks I ordered were on the sweeter side. Next time I would ask them to lower the sweetness of possible. The Pink Lady (matcha with strawberry cream) was pretty, but the matcha flavor wasn't as potent as I wanted it to be. The Panda Latte was my favorite.

    Pandan paradise
    Samveda R.

I got the Pandan Paradise Decaf with no ice (they can't do it hot) and really enjoyed it! It wasn't too sweet or grassy, it's my first time trying Pandan so I'm not sure if it was the authentic flavor, but yummy nonetheless. The Pandan I believe is in the green foam on top. The barista asked if I wanted ice on the side which I thought was considerate. Service was fast, but there was also not too much rush. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of parking in the complex, and the bathrooms are for customers only (code on the bottom of the receipt) and were kept clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of seating with both tables and couches, and people were working and chatting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Tiramisu Latte
    Quynh A.

Came here on a Sunday to get some work done and I was glad to see there's so many open seatings and outlets. It's a big open space, though the decor & vibes here doesn't seems to be very cohesive. The cashier here weren't super friendly either. I tried the Tiramisu Latte and it has good amount of sweetness. It's super creamy and tasty but I can tell the coffee quality wasn't as high. Cafe Big Mug is a decent cafe but not particularly standout versus its competitors. If you're looking for a no frill kinda spot just to study with a lot of seating then this place might suits you!

    Sarah D.

Cafe Big Mug appears to be a staple cafe in the area for studying and catching up with friends. There are plenty of tables and seating areas. There was also a photobooth and a stationery area where you could purchase cute item, although I didn't partake in those activities. I mainly came here for the viral strawberry matcha drink. The customer service was good. The employees were attentive and answered any questions you had while ordering and picking up your order. The lighting was aesthetically pleasing and it was quiet enough to do work and chat with friends. I think I may have ordered the wrong beverage for my taste, but my drink was not very sweet and mostly tasted like water and matcha. My friends tiramisu drink was delicious and pleasant, though. I am willing to try Big Mug another time if my friends ever suggest it. I'll just order a different drink instead of their strawberry matcha drink. Parking was okay on a weekend. It's in a lot with spaces around the store.

Literally my favorite study spot. I love their tiramisu latte, which is very sweet and creamy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a mix of tables and couches to sit at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get packed but at least they have a lot of free parking available outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at a kiosk. I would recommend upgrading hot drinks to a large to get it in an actual big mug, true to their name. I especially love this place because they sell a small variety of notebooks, art, keychains, and skincare. And they have a Photobooth inside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a nice mix of things and a good place to chat or study.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back soon!

Love the coffee, vibes and coziness here. I have been to Big Mug at a different location, and this is pretty similar, but a bit smaller. But at the same time it feels lighter and keeps the same comfy atmosphere here for talks, working over laptop, just enjoying the coffee cup. Parking is available in front of the building. Restroom is quite specious. You do need to keep the receipt to get the password or you can ask. The same goes for the wifi password. The staff was amazing, I really loved talking to barista. I ordered large latte and really loved the cup!

pandan paradise and big mug special
    Linda W.

My friend and I came on a weekday after seeing some TikToks about this place. I got the Big Mug special (this may be the wrong name, but something along those lines) and my friend got the pandan drink. I honestly thought my drink was going to be bigger and also milk based since I was asked on my milk preference, and instead got something closer to a cold brew with sweet foam on top. The sweet foam was amazing, but the drink overall wasn't anything super out of the ordinary. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her pandan drink, so I think that I just didn't order the best drink for me. This is a super cute and cozy study spot with fast and reliable wifi, so if I were to be near the area again I would try it again and order something different.

I need to go back because everything I ordered was iced and I want to try some of the hot drinks. The banana bourbon latte was good, I wish it had maybe a more pronounced banana flavor and that the bourbon came through more. But the oat milk and the coffee were so smooth and luxurious that it made the experience enjoyable. Important note: with Mitsua market and the busy food areas there, this plaza gets incredibly busy! We ordered a Cortado and the Honey Sea Salt Latte -- both were excellent. The espresso was rich, smooth, and perfectly pulled, which really showed in both drinks. The honey sea salt latte had a really nice balance of sweet and savory that wasn't overly sweet. We also got a croissant, which was flaky and delicious. They clearly have strong breakfast options overall -- the cheesy toast pictured on their page looked amazing too. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. This is a great spot for quality coffee and solid breakfast food. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of their flavored drinks and breakfast toasts. Highly recommend!

Pastries and breads are often not uniform in size. Pastries that come out smaller or torn, damaged still get selected to be sold to customers instead of seen as a quality defect and pulled. In comparison to premium bakeries in SF, Palo Alto, or even Los Gatos, this was disappointing. I would think it would be better to pull the one or two pastries in that tray. Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The prices they had in the beginning were fair, but with the recent increase along with those issues, I'm sad to rate it lower.

A simple sandwich order at 9:20 is not ready until 9:45. Lesson learned, come at opening time and order all at once. Cortado & latte, 5/5. Hot, smooth, strong. Orchid acai bowl ($14, sub in mango for mulberry, add coconut dust): 5/5. so good. Palmetto superfoods is my go-to in the SJ area for acai bowls, this was better despite not as many topping options. Their bases are smoother and creamier, no ice crystals here. Also liked that the fruit was chopped smaller. BAE sandwich ($12): 4/5. good, but definitely not worth a 25 min wait. Textures, freshness were great, but it was missing salt/pepper & spices. The sauce helped, but still underwhelming given how good it looks. Recommend having salt & pepper packets & a bottle of hot sauce available to customers. Cinnamon roll ($5.75): as a cinnamon roll, 3/5. As a morning bun type thing, 4.5/5. This is a case of mistaken identity. It's got a slight crunch, light sweetness, fluffy (not dense). When I order a cinnamon roll, I'm more expecting decadent dessert-for-breakfast laden with sugar & butter, yknow? Loved their dining area, loved how beautifully presented all items were, loved how everything was served at optimal temperature (hot espresso, thoroughly warmed pastry, etc), loved the variety of menu items (I can get an acai bowl and bf can get a sandwich or pastry). There's a larger communal table, and some counter seating. Parking can be difficult. There's a small area in the parking garage for "guest" parking. It's almost always full and you will depend on luck to find one spot there or arrive in time when someone is leaving their spot. There is no parking on most of the surrounding streets, except for the small section of the road that curves underneath Lawrence. And that part is often full of parked cars. It can be frustrating and this parking situation will easily drive away customers to find somewhere else with easier parking. If you're fortunate enough to get parking, you will find that Coffeebar offers a decent coffee menu, baked goods, and some food if you need more than a snack. The people working behind the counter have all been very friendly and helpful. Their Chocolate Croissant is HUGE!!! They'll ask if you want it warmed up. Definitely do this. It is delicious slightly warmed up. I have tried their Iced Chai Latte, which was just OK. It lacked the spice I was expected from a chai, and felt a bit too milky.
