Whenever I have the chance to now go work at a Cafe I cone to this one. I use to go to the Big Mug on El Camino but that one became too crowded, I didn't know this one existed until like a year ago. I want to come here more often because I really do like this cafe. It is definitely more quiet than the original location. The outlet options are kind of weird but they have a huge table with a longer power strip which multiple people can connect to. Just get yourself a nice cup of coffee and a pastry and shut your self from the world via headphones and airpods and do some work here! read more

This is one of many coffee stops along Stevens Creek and if you drive to fast, you'll miss this one. Big Mug is tuck behind the McDonalds on the corner of Saratoga and Stevens Creek. Seating is exceptional with tons of area to plug in your laptop or mobile device. The baristas are on point and definitely know how to make drinks. During my visit I tried one of their Big Mug Specials, specifically a Mont Blanc. What's a Mont Blanc you say? It's a cold brew with foam of delightful sweet sun to ruin my damn diet. Oh it's lip smacking. The cream taste so good that I felt guilty when I finished it. Mmm I'll have to come back a few more times to give my real thoughts on this place. This place is a definite recommended. read more

Café Big Mug was a quick stop for a coffee fix. The definite pros include plentiful parking, large indoor seating with available wifi, quiet environment and large windows. The lesser pros are the OK coffee prices and the bitter (for my taste) cappuccino along with the older decor (untouched tea wares) that looks slightly neglected. It's hard to pass significant judgment on an establishment with a quick pass through, yet on the other hand for those wanting a good cup of coffee, it's hard to give a 5-star recommendation. Hoping it was a one-off and try the cafe again. read more

Drinks were good and breakfast items were good aswell the only downside was the costumer service it was our first time and before leaving we have the two girls working this morning a complement on the drinks and they just looked at us in a disgusting way not even a thank you or a smile it makes us not want to come again if so we would just place an online order. read more

Staff is friendly, wifi is super fast, and they don't play obnoxious (unstudy friendly) music. When I've come, they have never been at capacity and their indoor area is spacious with plenty of light. Overall very pleasant vibes. (side note: there are like, a small family of gnats that hang around inside the cafe but at least they don't seem to be the kind that bother you lol). read more

I love both Big Mug locations, but this is the one I come to more often. I like to get together with friends to draw or paint, and the big tables here make it a perfect location for doing that. I usually order the pandan paradise, which used to be on the seasonal menu, but I'm so glad they moved it to the regular menu because it's absolutely delicious. The pandan and espresso flavors are perfectly balanced and neither overpowers the other. My sibling loves the tiramisu latte. This is also our favorite place to buy beans for our espresso machine! read more

Be careful with this location. I ordered a pandan paradise from here and got sick and very fatigued. It's been a few days and I still have acid reflux. They need to be checked for sanitation. **UPDATE** It's been 4 days since I had a drink from this location and I am still suffering from stomach issues. I know their coffee caused it because my brother had a sip of my drink and immediately started feeling symptoms. Please be careful ordering from them! read more

My friend and I come here to work when we need a change of scenery. Lots of eating, outlets on the perimeter of the shop and good coffee. I like their lavendula and pumpkin cream iced latte (I'm a sucker for seasonal drinks). Bathroom is in the back and wifi is good. Plenty of parking as well. read more

First time at Big Mug. Nice feel. Relaxing, chill music, and sure a hit with others. There is very little seating open this afternoon. I understand this is their newer location that was a different coffee place before. Iced mango peach tea was prepared with tea bag in an easy to handle container. The taste is there but not overpowering. Not a fan of strong tea so like that this allows me to get the strength of tea that works for me. The sign near the door says "Soft opening. Menu is limited. Sorry." So fair warning on that but it seems they have been open for a few months. Would be nice to know when they are complete. That said, it is very busy and everyone seems happy. read more

Great coffee ( I got the Mont Blanc, creamy, slightly bitter and a little fruity tasting to me) my partner got the cold brew and she said she really liked it as well. Do yourself a favor and get a cheese danish warmed up . The staff was friendly and the space itself is nice and roomy, they play soft music and it's not a very loud environment. *Calling all the basic bitches* I don't really write reviews but felt compelled to for the AVOCADO TOAST. I don't know if it's because I'm just coming back to the west coast but this is the best $7.50 avocado toast I've ever had. The funny thing is I asked the cashier before I ordered it if they used real avocado or prepackaged smashed avocado (Philz does this ). Maybe I'm impressed because I am used to $12 avocado toast with the thinnest spread of avocado but at Big Mug they literally give you AN ENTIRE AVOCADO split on two pieces of toast. Topped with salt, pepper, eggs, walnuts and shaved almonds. *Chef's kiss***. I also got the Mint Au Lait which was great. read more

Came to Cafe Big Mug with my Dad after dropping off his car at the dealership for routine maintenance service. The coffee shop is hidden and shares the plaza with McDonalds and a few other stores. We walked in at about 8am and were the only customers inside. Their menu isn't extensive (which I like) and they had a few bagels and other delights to choose from. I ordered their Caramel Macchiato. It had nothing caramel in it. I honestly only tasted espresso and milk. My father ordered a straight Americano and was disappointed that his coffee wasn't hot. We also ordered a egg and ham bagel to share which honestly was the only saving grace to our breakfast. There was so much egg and ham that we both were very full after lol. Sadly though, we tossed our coffee walking back. Interior is very pretty and cozy. I'll probably give it another try next time. read more

One of my favorite cafes to visit when I'm home. They have a location in Santa Clara as well, but I think this one is a bit bigger. They have delicious coffee and pastries here. I especially love their matcha white chocolate cookie. It looks like the Korean bakery-style cookies I've seen on TikTok. They're thick, chewy, delicious, and not too sweet. Definitely a 5/5 for me and I want to come back to try their other cookies. I've also tried their strawberry ricotta toast the last time I went here (almost 3ish years ago) and it was so good, too! Delicious pastries, amazing coffee and other drinks, and the ambiance is very relaxing. It was aight. Personally I'm a bigger Philbertz guy myself, cuz that stuff gives me instant diarrhea and it just feels fuller. I am not really sure what that means, but it's kind of like drinking flavoured mud. It's really good, don't get me wrong, cuz I'm sure that's not a description that you would want to hear when you're drinking your delicious cup of Philbertz coffee, but I'm telling you it's really good! My go-to is Philtered Soul, cuz it's just the best, so I guess I don't really need to go too much into detail there, but I suggest you check it out! It will change the way that you drink coffee!! This cafe seems great for some hardcore studying or work to get done! When I came in an evening, it was pretty quiet (in a good, focused way), and there was a plethora of seating available for guests to be productive or even just meet up with friends. As it was my first time there, I was very thankful for the barista being kind enough to explain different types of drinks to me :,) they have the standard coffees and teas, but also some of the more crafted drinks. I tried the Little Italy, which is meant to resemble a tiramisu (and though I'm not sure if they have standard sweetness levels, the barista was also nice enough to add in less syrup so it wouldn't taste as sugary) - would definitely rate it a 10/10! read more

Am I the only one who didn't know about this big mug location? Now that I'm not a student and haven't worked from home in a while, I feel like my coffee shop knowledge is out the window. I needed a place where there would be ample space so that I wouldn't have to fight people for outlets or parking spots. I had remembered Coffee Factory being fairly big and a chill place that wasn't crowded. I arrived to find the place changed into big mug. The interior is the same and had the same vibe that Coffee Factory did: large enough where there wasn't any trouble finding a place to sit. Walked to this small family-owned cafe after dropping the car at one of the nearby dealerships for an airbag replacement. The owner had purchased a 25% off campaign on Yelp just for checking in (excellent deal.) A little after 9 am there were a few people planted with their laptops going. They've got a wide array of baked goods and a few sandwiches. I ordered the ham, egg, and cheese bagel which was very filling for $6.50. The sandwich decent, but suggest having an aioli to add on or the side. Green Tea latte was great. Get out and support these privately owned cafes despite being surrounded by big chains. read more

The workers need to better understand the menu and be more enthusiastic! Their mood is very grey and they don't really smile at all. I understand this location is relatively new and their employees are young, but they should really train their staff to know how to be better at sales and know how to endorse their drinks/food. When I asked what kinds of drinks they had, they seemed a little clueless. It just translates to the impression that they don't really like their jobs :( They played fairly loud cheesy pop music but to be honest I think everyone would prefer if they play music that's more relaxed and work-friendly. There's less seating than their predecessor (Coffee Factory) meaning there's less people, so they really don't have to play music that loud. Also adding on to a few other reviewer's thoughts, I definitely agree that no one really likes the small, round, and flimsy looking tables. Everyone chose to sit at every other table before settling to the round ones. The drinks are pretty standard. Quality and taste isn't comparable to Big Mug on El Camino just yet. One of my favorite coffee shops in San Jose! It is in a plaza with McDonald's so you won't spot it unless you drive into the plaza. You can easily find a parking spot in the plaza next to the coffee shop. The owner is really nice and friendly and will make sure to provide you with the best quality food, coffee, and service. I ordered a latte with heavy cream and a scrambled egg bagel and enjoyed both of them a lot. The coffee is very well made and is very enjoyable and the bagel was fresh, crunchy, and full of flavor. There are around 4-5 tables outdoor for dine-in and the place has WiFi too. I checked out this place when I was waiting for my car to be serviced and did a bunch of work there on the outdoor patio. I really enjoyed the overall experience and will definitely drop by again soon! read more

No Oatly oat milk here! Oatmilk in coffee is a game changer, but as any true oat milk connoisseur knows, certain types of oat milk are far superior to others. If they don't have Oatly, I don't get oat milk. Back story aside, Cafe Big Mug uses the same space as the previous coffee spot without changing the layout much of Coffee Factory. In lieu of oat milk, we got Americanos with almond milk. They were okay. We requested these to-go, but they put them in the ceramic mugs to drink there. The original Big Mug Coffee Roasters in Santa Clara is better. It has much cooler decor and is larger. Anyway, checked it out and it is a fine place for coffee or to hang (next to my favorite place ever, Yumi Yogurt). read more

I am SO EXCITED that my favorite coffee shop has a second location!!! Same amazing quality of coffee and food as their first location. I love the chill vibes at this new spot. There's ample seating, beautiful decor and lots of windows for the perfect ambiance. The vibe is hella mellow and relaxing. A great place to work if you need a change of scenery. I've ordered two pour overs, a drip coffee, avocado toast and overload Oreo cake so far and everything was enjoyed to the very last bite/sip. Will be a regular here, hands down!! read more

This is a second location opened up from the original Big Mug Cafe in Santa Clara. I liked the original Big Mug for some of their signature drinks but it was always way too crowded so I didn't bother to go. This new location though is spacious and not loud. Great as a place to study and work. I really liked the grapefruit ade from the original location so this time I tried strawberry one. It was okay but I liked the grapefruit one better. They have various teas, coffee, soda and pastries on their menu. I haven't tried most of them but they looked pretty good in the display. read more

I stopped by here while my car was being worked on nearby. Lots of space, ample outlets at tables near the walls. A lot of tasty coffee to try from, my personal favorite is the Mont Blanc. Additionals: 1) The place has plenty of fresh air with the open windows. My study cafe work group came yesterday, and man, I really wanted to give this place a higher rating. However, as a cafe with free wifi, it is really lacking on the wifi department. I had to hotspot with my phone in order to get any work done. Otherwise, since this cafe is still relatively new compare to the Big Mug on El Camino, it has plenty of seating and a good assortment of goods. Tea, coffee, bagel, pie, brick toast..... I ordered a mocha w/ oatmilk yesterday and it was on the sweet side but still very delicious. I would want to come back, however only if their internet is fixed!! read more

Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The prices they had in the beginning were fair, but with the recent increase along with those issues, I'm sad to rate it lower.

It's almost always full and you will depend on luck to find one spot there or arrive in time when someone is leaving their spot. There is no parking on most of the surrounding streets, except for the small section of the road that curves underneath Lawrence. And that part is often full of parked cars. It can be frustrating and this parking situation will easily drive away customers to find somewhere else with easier parking. If you're fortunate enough to get parking, you will find that Coffeebar offers a decent coffee menu, baked goods, and some food if you need more than a snack. The people working behind the counter have all been very friendly and helpful. Their Chocolate Croissant is HUGE!!! They'll ask if you want it warmed up. Definitely do this. It is delicious slightly warmed up. I have tried their Iced Chai Latte, which was just OK. It lacked the spice I was expected from a chai, and felt a bit too milky. Café Big Mug is such a solid spot to hang out and grab good food. The garlic butter bread was super warm and tasty and just the perfect comfort snack. Portions are pretty generous too. My friend got the everything bagel, and it was huge, she was totally stuffed by the end. We both tried the Valentine's Day matcha, and it was really good and just the right amount of sweet. The place does get pretty crowded, but there's a lot of seating, and tables open up fairly quickly, so it's not too bad. I also love that they have cute little things for sale, like stickers and greeting cards, plus a photo booth, which is such a nice touch. Cafe Big Mug in Santa Clara is a happy accident I'm grateful for! The Mont Blanc was a taste bud tango, worth every craving. Staffs never apologize or appreciate to the customers at all when there is no manager with them. (Never heard from them saying "Thank you') Also, I asked for the pw for the bathroom, and the lady gave me the wrong one, so I tried with wrong one for about 5 min. The person helping asked me if I want all the trimmings and I asked what are the trimmings that come with it? She said, mayo, mustard, tomato, lettuce, onions, and pepperoncini peppers. I said no onions and pepperoncini. The sandwich that I opened the box to when I returned to work was a tuna salad on a croissant with lettuce, banh mi aioli, and banh mi pickled daikon/carrots. I called the business and informed there was a mistake as there are pickled daikon/carrots in my tuna croissant. I was told to bring it back and they'll make it right. Minutes later I received a voicemail stating that the sandwich was made correctly and that pickled daikon was suppose to be in the sandwich. Few issues I have with this...First, the flavor profile is not right. Second, why was I informed of all the trimmings when I ordered and pickled daikon/carrots was not mentioned to me. Third, where was the mustard, cucumber, mayo(they used banh mi aioli which is different than mayo) and tomato? Is this under new management? I used to order the tuna sandwich all the time and it was never made like this. All of the pictures posted of tuna or chicken salad sandwiches on here, do you see any pickled daikon/carrots in them?

Mix that sourness with whole milk, and it just didn't taste right or appetizing at all, and the cardamom was way too subtle to save it. On the other hand, the pistachio latte was actually really delicious. The only catch? It didn't taste like pistachio at all. It was very vanilla-forward instead. So while it was a great cup of coffee, missing the actual featured flavor was a bit of a letdown. Great vibe, sweet staff, and nice outdoor seating, but the specialty flavors could definitely use some tweaking.
