Solid food , Covid guidelines followed , attentive staff , and not too crowded ( granted we went on a Wednesday morning ). Our server was very attentive and kind , as well as the man who welcomed us in and sat us . VEGETARIANS beware ( luckily we weren't offended by this because we aren't vegetarians )... but when we asked if they had vegetarian options to sub for the breakfast bacon or sausage our waiter replied "no ... we do the real thing . None of that ". We got a good laugh at it , but I am sure some people would classify it as inconsiderate /rude . The French toast is definitely not what you would expect of a typical American French toast , but still savory and tasty . It was very dense and somewhat moist and has raisins and cranberry inside . There is a nice park right across the way if you wanted to order to go and have a picnic lunch. Parking wasn't too bad and also free . read more

It's cute, it's quirky, but the portions are smaller than expected. The check-in offer is not valid, our server politely informed us-- he said they tried to contact Yelp about it, but they still haven't taken it down. I did love their potato au gratin-- sooooooo delicious. I also liked that some of the chefs were wearing the little French chef hats. Overall, it's a cute little cafe, and the potato au gratin is something I can see myself coming back for. read more

This is our favorite brunch spot. Jose is one of the most friendly waiter. We use to go every Sunday for brunch, but we moved. We came back after 1 year and a half, and Jose is still there serving with a smile and remembers us. The food is amazing, great espresso, and the obvious great service. Shame on ME - how did I not know of this place before today? I woke up and wanted my own personal buffet breakfast that could be delivered that was different from the typical places. I ordered the Breakfast Muscle sandwich, Crêpe Provençale, Quiche Aux Epinard and Pain Perdu (French Toast), and cinnamon roll. This food had me explaining to my puppy how good the food tasted...of course, there was no appreciation for what I was sharing since she couldn't actually taste it for herself. BYOB brunch! Yes please, they charge a cork fee and supply juice so bring as many bottles as you need. I had a croque madame, ewwwyyy gooey cheesy creamy toasted sandwich topped with a perfectly cooked fried egg. The service was impeccable we sat in back in the tent, the restaurant is very cute inside. Everyone's food came out hot and cooked to perfection. The au gratin potatoes have a touch of cardamom and five spice maybe I couldn't put my finger on it but it makes the béchamel very flavorful which is also in the croque madame. We enjoyed this outdoor patio (about a week ago) ! We had brunch and did the byob mimosa. All of our meals were fresh and tasty and our service was overall pleasant! Their takeout I'm sure is just as good because my leftovers tasted great! Support this small business! read more

They moved... BUT the food is still the best breakfast/brunch for sure! Love their very French potatoes au gratin, excellent omelets, love their ham and brie and overall pastry selections. We generally get our food to go, but it's always fresh and well prepared, even the side of fruit. read more

This spot is pretty solid! Nothing too special, I will say we enjoy this location more than where it was previously located. The food is consistent, really great portions! Service is alright never had poor service, some moments had been questionable but overall great time here. They do have a BYOB option and bottle fee, I'm kind of like if y'all ain't supplying it idk why you have to charge us for it, and I don't think it's cheap like it's kind of unreasonable the corkage fee but I digress It's fairly cramped on the inside, there's a narrow hallway like type set up under some tarp. We always leave with leftovers which are pretty good the next day, you can enjoy a nice brunch without necessarily breaking the bank. Nice to come in larger groups as well as they have a pretty diverse menu so you can pick off each others plates heheh If I recall correctly they didn't really have a ton of coffee options which was a bit surprising, like lattes and such. Although I think traditional French lean towards just a cup of joe so that may be why. Great for all ages, something for everyone. Very relaxed and casual here. read more

Cozy brunch spot on the corner :) Parking: Street parking only, metered. There's plenty of parking down the street next to the park as well as on the main road as well. I came on a Sunday around 12-1 pm so there was plenty of spots to choose from, and parking was free because it was Sunday! Ambience: There's indoor and outdoor seating, the latter in the back similar to a backyard (super cozy feeling). The interior design is bright and vibrant, while the outdoor decor is very comfy and aesthetic. We opted for the indoor seating option since it was starting to get sunny and warm. Service: Waiters were amazing, they were friendly and were very patient with us as we kept asking for more time (we couldn't decide what to order, so many good options!!!). Soleil Pancakes: Great option for someone who really wants to hit that sweet tooth craving. You get three heft pancakes with seasonal fruits and whipped cream, but you can choose any of the toppings listed (strawberries, bananas, nutella, dark chocolate chips, lemon-sugar, raspberries, or blueberries). However, I was disappointed by the pancakes themselves as they were on the thicker and chewier (rather than an old fashioned buttery pancake flavor, they were just like *sweet*). Also, super expensive for pancakes ($16.95) Fancy Brunch: I was sure this was going to be too much food and a waste of money ($21!!!) HOWEVER, it was worth it. It was delicious. The croissant sandwich situation was insane. It was so so so good. The potatoes gratin were perfect. AND we got 2 pancake chocolate chips. I feel like if you get this plate, you don't even need to order a second entree. I didn't even really eat my soleil pancakes and just ate the fancy brunch it was so good. read more

The food was executed incredibly well and the service was on point. Fresh squeezed orange juice and very large portions of food. The quiche was delicious with a buttery crust, the omelets also stuffed with ingredients and the potatoes au gratin perfectly seasoned and creamy. They also are dog friendly! I will definitely be coming back for a weekend brunch. They did provide refills on coffee. Unfortunately, they should take down the checkin offer on Yelp if they don't intend on honoring it. If I were the wait staff, I would have honored it and then have management correct the mistake with Yelp later. read more

Ordered the breakfast special which was mediocre. Potatoes taste store bought. The eggs were bland and the pancake taste weird as well. Bacon was decent but who really messes up that. Coffee was sh-t! I've had better coffee from a dirty pot. I would avoid this place like the plague. Overpriced and basic food. Why do you have to pay an arm and a leg to get a decent breakfast around here read more

Have I really never reviewed this place? For real? Let me put it this way- the only negative is that they moved farther away from me. It's my favorite breakfast in L.A. It just is. Firstly, let me be clear: my data is funky bc I don't really even like "breakfast" that much. I find myself ordering lunch food at brunch more often than breakfast food. But I DO love crepes. And I DO love quiche. And I DO love mimosas with my crepes and quiche. And I don't love potatoes, but I do love THEIR breakfast potatoes. I love a good croissant. I love fresh, robust salads. Yes, even the side salad. And I love a friendly and familiar managerial staff. So yes, I love Café Laurent and it is my favorite breakfast. Went here for lunch with my partner. While we were excited to try it, the experience unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. The service was friendly and attentive, which we appreciated, but the food itself was underwhelming. Despite the owners being French, the food tasted more like it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. We ordered a side of fruit that was clearly canned. Overall, the meal felt average and nothing particularly stood out. I'd rate it a 2.5/5. We should've just cooked at home. read more

This place's coffee was more than $10 for two small cups, both cups tasted more like water had a large amount of coffee grounds at the bottom. My gf and I split a meal, apparently there's a $4 charge to split meals there?? I've never heard of a splitting meal charge. Final straw for this review was that they couldn't separate items on the bill, it's 2025...that shouldn't be a problem. 2/10 experience, never again. read more

I am not entirely sure why Cafe Laurent is so popular. It might be that they have outside patio seating, which actually was not available to us when we went on a Sunday lunch because there was going to be a private event. I wasn't impressed by the menu that basically didn't have any vegan options - felt like all LA restaurants at this point should have a couple solid vegan options. I ended up getting the Le Veggie Club (club sandwich with grilled veggies and a mayo-y sauce) with salad and potatoes as sides. Good but nothing special. My friend has a crepe with Nutella, banana and strawberries and really enjoyed it though! So maybe crepes are the way to go. The savory crepes did look delicious. Everything here tasted delightful and the portions were very filling. As y'all know after Sunday I try and find a spot close to the kickball fields and this cafe is literally across the street from Veterans Memorial Park. They are dog friendly so we sat on the patio so my niece Billie could join us for Sunday fun day. Billie loves a good brunch and this place had it all. I literally wanted to eat what everyone got and would have no issue returning here every Sunday from now on just to try the entire menu! read more

Cute little restaurant. Finding parking is annoying but that goes for any place in this part of town. We got a table outside to sit at. I would say they could have checked on us more frequently. I had to get up myself a couple times to ask for condiments and more water. The food is very aesthetic and looks delicious, but is mid. The chicken in the sandwich was dry. I ordered the smoked salmon crepe, I was excited until they served a chicken crepe at first and then had to wait around 30mins for a correct order, i was patient but then the server comes and says "This is salmon now, OK???" he was so rude... What was the saddest part was when I took a bite....I almost puked. it was smothered with salt or something which made it disgustingly salty. It ruined the whole experience. The servers were rude, the food was terrible, the atmosphere was the only thing that tricked people to go. I'm not sure how this establishment gets so many reviews, probably from an old owner or something. TLDR save yourself a trip, don't come here. New Location same great food! Waited for them to relocate. Happy they found a new spot. There are not a lot of good breakfast places west of Sepulveda. I've come here quite a few times for a weekend brunch and really enjoy my experience each time. I always order the le Atlantique omelette (essentially salmon and cream cheese) because it's typically been so good, and I also always get the potatoes au gratin as one of my sides. Everyone I came with agreed the potatoes au gratin were delicious, so do yourself a favor and get those! This time I wasn't as big of a fan of my omelette, but it was still decent. Be warned that they operate on a waitlist system and they are pretty popular on the weekends, so get there early and be prepared to wait a bit! read more

THE MOST DISGUSTING CROQUE MADAME EVER!!! (Same for croque monsieur) The croque madame I ordered came with BURNED ham. It wasn't even Paris ham like other French restaurants do. They also added avocados (lol why? I've never asked to have avocado in my croque...). This restaurant is NOT authentic French food. I also had the potato gratin that was also disgusting, it was stale. I had potato gratin from other real French restaurants that were delicious, but not this one. I ordered my food from Uber eats and the food bag came completely opened (not stapled or taped to close the bag) to prevent the delivery person from touching your food... Established in 2000.

Cafe Laurent started at several local farmers markets. We baked our delicious croissants as well as our organic quiches with traditional French techniques learned in Normandie, France. Our customers used to ask us to open a restaurant were they could come and enjoy our food anytime. So after years of working at the farmers markets we opened Cafe Laurent. Using the combination of fine French techniques and organic produce from the Farmers market we created a great menu with fresh and organic items. Sundays we have a special brunch menu and have live music featuring local artists on our patio.

Hey Joey K, the carafe of OJ is $7 or $10, I can't recall, so they only charge $5 corking fee per bottle, so compared to most spots...it's still a good deal. Where else can you get 10 mimosas for $20 total

Anyone knows what kind of jam it is they bring with bread as you sit down? We really liked it but forgot to ask.

It's raspberry jam, that they make themselves. ? They use to sell it, but not anymore. Maybe inquire with them on your next visit, you might get lucky ?

I know you don't usually go to a French restaurant for the fries, but these were genuinely some of the best fries I've ever had. Now, there are a lot of good burgers in Los Angeles, but the Big Mec is one of the greats. So much flavor with the double wagyu patties, cheese, special sauce all while sitting in a Bordelaise sauce. Pasjoli seems to enjoy that ideal level of popularity where it's easy to book without planning in advance but also pleasantly busy on a random weeknight. Attractive interior, despite a name that translates to "not pretty," with two adjoining dining areas decorated with art and floral wallpaper, as well as a tres joli centerpiece bar. Some of the tables for two seemed small and close together, but we got a good one by a window and enjoyed a leisurely dinner. Our waiter Kaelen took great care of us, and we also got help from the sommelier, who recommended a nice Spanish Tempranillo to go with our food. In retrospect, everything we ordered was on the heavy side, but that's what happens when your husband doesn't eat his vegetables. And I have no regrets about the lush, creamy chicken liver mousse, finished with a thin layer of tart cherry aspic and served with perfect golden slices of baguette. I also quite liked the crêpes, warm and supple with beurre blanc, aged parmesan, chives, and caviar. Apparently Pasjoli is known for their burger--Kaelen mentioned it had been voted the best in Los Angeles. I can't find a source for this, but I believe it. The burger was exceptional, reminiscent of the renowned Big Mec at Petite Trois (and I give the edge here to Pasjoli). A thick, juicy, flavorful patty served on fluffy brioche with cheddar, grilled and fried onion, and marrow aioli. (My husband hates mayonnaise and we were pleasantly surprised that we could get it on the side, along with some humble ketchup.) It cost $28 with an extra $8 for an order of frites, which were also fantastic. We got the pork chop for our other entree, and this was solid, if less of a standout. The pork was tender, served with roasted market carrots and pork jus. For dessert, we shared the PJ sundae, a cup of vanilla ice cream cloaked in duck fat caramel and candied almond. Absolutely delicious. Santa Monica is a bit of a trek for us, but we very much intend to go back to Pasjoli. I'm interested in the pressed duck dinner, but would also love to revisit the chicken liver and burger and ice cream sundae, with perhaps a green vegetable and another good bottle of wine.

My duck leg was pretty overcooked though and the duck breast was a hair too raw for me. For the price, I wouldn't get it again - especially given that it just wasn't a very perfect meal - but it was a fun dinner nonetheless!

The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.
