    Pasta salad and chicken
    Andi R.

We loooove Cafe Max. The staff is always so friendly and kind. I love how when their restaurant part isn't open they have a separate area to just order food and go. Their food and portions never disappoint. My 3 year old requested the Caesar and fruit and he looooved it! My husband and I always get the chicken and pasta. It tastes SO good together and you would never expect apples and pecans to go with chicken but omg. My favorite. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for the to go container..it was so flimsy the food fell in the bag hence the messy look in the picture with the salad trio. But I so appreciate how much food she gave because it became 2-3 meals easily. Will be back as always!

Mom and pop shop. Very big portion. Good taste overall. Wish the staff was a little nicer. Weird odor in the air but the food is solid. Good option for lunch.

Always consistently delicious. The food is fresh and they provide huge portions that are shareable. The service is friendly and quick. I've only eaten inside once but the restaurant is nice, clean and spacious.

Favorite lunch spot. The staff is friendly and the servings are generous. I got the salad trio, and can seriously eat off it for three meals. My favorites are the seafood salad and Caesar salad. Highly recommend!

If you like salad...more salad than you can possibly eat...and you haven't been here, your life is incomplete. I was originally introduced to Cafe Max many years ago when I worked in Richardson. If there are better salads anywhere, I haven't had them. I don't know anyone who has ever been here who says that someone else has a better version. The salads are that good. It's takeout only, and the hours are limited. So go now and go hungry. You're welcome!

I absolutely love all the gluten-free options. I ordered the simple salmon, which was cooked to my preferred temperature and served with a generous portion of tasty sautéed vegetables. I'd say my total time waiting to order was 5 minutes and my total time waiting for food was 10, even with how crowded it was. I ordered the White Chicken Parmesan. I've never had gluten free pasta before this and there was no strange taste or texture. The sauce was bright and very lemony. I will say the pasta was in oddly short pieces so don't expect to twirl your noodles on your fork! The chicken was well cooked and seasoned with a nice crust. The raw tomato addition didn't do too much for me but I didn't mind it overall. The soda fountain is an adorable tap that boasted drinks like cola, sparkling lemonade, cream soda, root beer and more. I'm not usually a fan of off brand cola but this one was great, if not a little watery for my taste. My pasta dish overall was $15.50, which was a great price for the amount I received. The plate was large and easily more than one portion. This is definitely one of the best "health food" places I've been to. Will definitely be back!

We had several people who had dietary restrictions and allergies and while they were able to find items to eat the limited menu option because of a large party did make it more challenging. We started with the hummus, cauliflower and dumplings. The cauliflower had some really good flavor to it, but the hummus was really good especially with that cracker like bread. For my main entrée I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked decently. I do wish there was a little bit more seasoning on it. The french fries were a miss for me as they are cooked in a fry cooker and just don't have the same flavor that regular fries too. I understand the concept for this place is healthy eating but the fries just didn't have that crunch to them and tasted soggy. Our server was delightful and I enjoyed how attentive she was.

Just wanna start by saying I come here a lot because it's good healthy food that is great for…read moremacros, but they seriously have some things they need to get in order. First of all you can't order sides of protein on the website for some reason.. why? Just losing money there for no reason. But what's much more annoying is I order the BYO plate with double steak and a couple of times they have given me the normal plate that I payed for, which is a square paper container and it has half rice and half salad with the meat on top. This is the container that they advertise. The paper container is a great alternative to what most restaurants use. But a lot of times now when I order, they decide to give me this random black plastic container that they do not even advertise, which has 2 side compartments and 1 bigger compartment for the meat. When they do it this way, instead of giving me an entire portion of salad like I payed for, they just put a small scoop in one of the side compartments and then bombard the entire rest of the plate with lots of rice. So it is completely uneven portions and I feel like I'm getting scammed because if they had just given me the normal plate which they advertise and that I thought I had payed for, it would have way more salad. And you can definitely taste the difference in the food when they use the plastic one compared to the normal paper one they are supposed to be using. Why do they do this? Is it only this location doing it? Because I have never seen that container pictured on their website or social media. And are they actually trying to skimp us and save a little money or is this just some major oversight that nobody has thought of? I will attach a picture of what they have been giving me vs what they advertise and you can see how they're totally ripping people off with this. It's not a huge deal because I enjoy the food, but the fact that each of those plates I buy is 25$ and they're doing this is just so frustrating. I want a balanced meal, yet every time I get this weird container, I find myself forcing the left over rice down which I would have been able to enjoy if I had an even portion of salad. And the rice for sure tastes plasticky when it comes in this container. If you're the owner/operator/manager reading this please do not give me your generic copy and pasted response telling me to send you guys an email because I'm not going to. Just fix this issue please and I will update my review to 5 stars

The inside was smaller than I anticipated but I really liked the aesthetic of the place. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the very friendly host and taken to a nice booth seat. My server Joshua was also friendly and made quite a few recommendations on what to order; I decided on the deviled eggs to start and got the butcher burger for my entree. I can't believe I'd encounter the day I didn't like a deviled egg. I didn't care for these deviled eggs at all. Something about the seasoning in the eggs didn't work for me, I thought the egg white part was really thick and tough and the candied bacon on top didn't work for me as far as cohesive flavors. The burger though made up for it, the burger was very good. I could taste the quality of the meat and the toppings weren't carrying the burger, the meat was thoroughly seasoned throughout, I really enjoyed it. The fries were great as well, skinny, crisp and piping hot. I wasn't a fan of their ketchup, there was some flavor in it that I didn't appreciate. I got a pistachio tres leches to go and it was just ok. I love tres leches cake, so naturally, if it's on the menu, I'm ordering it and I could see this being a fan favorite but it was way too wet to me, like drenched to the point where the cake disintegrated in my mouth and I prefer a less saturated tres leches. Other than the burger, everything else was kinda mid. I do wish the menu had more options, and honestly, I don't see myself returning just for the burger. But the burger was good, so try it for yourself
