Came here after seeing Café Réveille on TikTok and realizing it was right near my favorite spot for kouign amann at Arsicault Bakery. I was really hoping the coffee would be as good as my favorites like Blue Bottle Coffee or Coffeeshop, but unfortunately my decaf breve mocha literally tasted like steamed milk. I couldn't taste the coffee or the chocolate at all. To be fair, the staff was very nice and offered to remake it with more cocoa, but said they couldn't adjust the coffee itself. I honestly didn't understand why, especially since they were willing to remake multiple drinks instead of just adding a little more espresso so I could actually taste the coffee. The café itself is very cute with a nice vibe, and I appreciated the customer service. Unfortunately, the coffee just didn't hit the mark for me. Service is solid and they've created and environment where you can grab a juice or coffee after devouring your sandwich and comfortably work for a bit without interruption. My friends who I was meeting up was staying at a nearby hotel. We came here for breakfast since they had to check out 2 hours later. Not too many seating as everyone is just sitting there forever working. They have an extensive drink menu but breakfast was pastries and 5 items. You can get a chia bowl, avocado toast, eggs +, and a burrito. Overall the food was presented well and delicious. I did wish the potatoes were salted a bit. I got a mocha with soy milk. The honey and I dropped into Cafe Réveille as our last stop on a long day of walking around San Francisco. I ordered the Tropic Garden iced tea and he the Mountain Beauty iced tea. The service was prompt, but the layout for the straws and cup tops was a bit difficult to navigate. Our drinks were both refreshing and the cafe boasts two all gender bathrooms and quite a bit of inside and outside seating via the parklet. Met my friend for quick bite on a Saturday. The middle of the restaurant register is kind of awkward where everybody just by default needs to walk through the line that ends up going outside. There is just something off about it. There are indoor or outdoors tables as well as bar sitting area. I ordered the coconut acai bowl and I enjoyed the flavor but I thought it was small and was already served liquidy not solid so not an idea acai bowl presentation. Stopped in for a late breakfast with a small ordering line formed, pretty bustling on a Saturday. From smoothies, coffee, breakfast items to pastries it was hard to choose because everything sounded delicious. Ended up ordering a Matcha latte with oat milk and Shakshuka. Was the Matcha Latte the best I've ever had, no. But it was good and tasted just fine. The shakshuka comes with a side of arugula, two poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce, yogurt sauce and thick slices of levain. The tomato sauce is not too spicy, just enough heat. Eggs perfectly cooked and the bread sopped up the sauce wonderfully. Clean plate club is real here. The interior has bright open light, interior noise is not too loud with the high ceilings and chairs are comfortable. Service is quick and food gets brought out in a timely manner to your table. Overall place was modern, clean, reminiscent of a nice coffee shop. We ordered: - Crunchy bowl with chicken (5/5): warm bowl with kale, sweet potatoes, shiitake mushrooms. Side of chicken breast was extra $6 but added some protein to an otherwise perfect bowl. Lightly dressed which was a bonus - Açaí bowl (4.5/5): delicious açaí with fruits, wished there were some more berries and fruits, most of it was loaded with açaí and granola - Matcha latte with almond milk (5/5): rich matcha flavors, beautiful artwork Wasn't sure if we were supposed to bus our own tables after so I awkwardly grabbed our used plates and utensils and handed them over to someone by the kitchen (couldn't find a bin for these). My only other feedback was to allow guests to enter one of the two side doors that were marked "exit only" to get in to pick up utensils, waters, use the restroom, etc without having to bump through people waiting in line at the main entrance. For $17+ tax/tip I'd expect a good amount of the grilled chicken breast inside the sandwich as was advertised on the menu - instead, what I got was a very very thinly sliced piece of chicken that was lost in a very large piece of bread and plenty of overpowering cabbage that I didn't really care for. My mocha came pretty quickly and had really nice latte art on it! The espresso base today was a bit on the acidic side for me, but the cocoa flavor balanced it out a bit. The açaí bowl was absolutely delicious and just what I needed. There were so many toppings with granola and cacao nibs in every bite--I almost ran out of açaí at the end! I'm not gonna lie a lot of places in sf don't have the best acai bowls but this one was fantastic! They didn't blend the acai with a bunch of fluff and the flavor really came through. It was also packed with toppings which I know sometimes places skimp on. For 15$ it was pretty worth it in my opinion for the city. Stopped going about 2 months ago. Love everything they produce: stellar coffee, creative well executed menu, even the aloof too cool staff. Issue: every single time let me repeat EVERY SINGLE TIME my visit for coffee and a prepared breakfast item would take 20-25 mins AFTER ORDERING. I embraced it for a while but it got annoying. Your Saturday 2pm shift cashiers are rude as hell. A girl accidentally cut the line in front while she was on her phone and to be fair im pretty short, must be hard to see for some. It may not be great coffee but it well above chain products and the presence of a roaster on premises is always an encouraging sign. The coffee experience is standard San Francisco Third Wave. Unrushed and well made drinks with a nice presentation. I like cortados and theirs is good. Good food with good coffee is always welcome. The pastries are good considering they are not made there. The butter croissant is fine. A plate of mushroom hash with roasted fingerling potato and a bright whole grain mustard sauce, two eggs with hard fried edges, toasted levain sourdough. The location is on a nice corner along 4th and Long Bridge with lots of light from high windows. There is a park-let outside. Dog friendly. Since this is a new residential neighborhood the people are friendly and exchange greeting with regulars coming in with their kids and/or pet. A much better place to drop in for coffee and a plate than some of San Francisco's older neighborhoods. read more

Omg. The vanilla bean scone alone is enough for me to return. I had a vanilla bean scone when I was last in SF, in summer 2024, and I finally got to have another one today and oh my gosh it is the perfect scone! So delicious!!! Also, Kat took my order today and she was so helpful! It was my first time dining in and she let me know where the water station is, the cutlery, the bathroom, all without me having to ask! The reason I'm knocking off 1 star is I waited 30 minutes for my food to be delivered, which was shocking! If I were warned in advance that the wait would be that long, that would've been nice. I got the breakfast bowl and a dirty chai latte, my son had the breakfast burrito and coconut chia pudding, and my husband had the shakshuka and cappuccino. Everything was really great, so wholesome, healthy, and filling. Only thing I didn't love was the albarry smoothie; it had a funky aftertaste and I couldn't even have half of it. It was my first time at this cafe. The location is clean, and near the water & ballpark. The cafe was clean, spacious and nice. The seating inside near the window had booth like plastic cushion seats. Several were cracked from west and tear. Could also be that they are constantly being beaten down on by the sun. Other than that it's a nice cafe to hang out on your own or with friends. The staff was nice and coffee was good. I've recently been commuting to SF via Caltrain. I've passed by Cafe Réveille a few times while walking to the office and finally decided to drop in for a bite and coffee. I arrived at Cafe Réveille around 7:45am and found a cute, modern cafe. The place wasn't too busy, so I was able to order right away. Overall service was great. I was feeling incredibly indecisive that morning and went back and forth on what I wanted. The employee at the register was so friendly and patient with me. My drink came out in a timely manner. Although my food took a little bit longer to come to me, I felt like it was made with love. I appreciated that they served more than just pastries as I saw several patrons with hot breakfast. I got a levain avocado toast ($5.50) with a fried egg (+$2). This had to be the cheapest avocado toast I've ever seen in the Bay Area, and it was a solid avocado toast that hit the spot. I requested the egg to be over medium, which came out exactly as I had asked (I don't know why over medium is hard for people to get). Loved the thick, buttery slice of levain. I got a nonfat dirty chai latte. Hat off to the barista. My drink was made well. It was the kind of drink that made me smile after the first sip. The spices had such a smooth blend, and I got the hint of the espresso. I can't wait to try their matcha latte, which I'll be stopping by for next time. read more

I am a regular customer at this cafe. Unfortunately, I have had several negative customer service experiences at Cafe Reveille. While I was tempted to immediately write a negative review after the first few experiences, I resisted, wanting to give them benefit of the doubt and give them chance to improve. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me 4 times, shame on me (for continuing to patronize this business). Today, after waiting for several minutes while there was no line, and the employee behind the counter was chatting it up with a customer and ignoring me standing there, another employee finally took my order without any "thanks for waiting". When I ordered a coffee, knowing that they bring it to the other side of the counter when it's ready, I told the employee who took my order that I have an injured knee and to please just bring the coffee back to me directly where I was standing at the order counter. What does she do? She fills up coffee cup and begins walking to the far side of the counter, completely ignoring my request. I had to say 'excuse me - I said I have a knee injury and to please bring coffee right back to me where I was standing". She brings it over - without a single word of 'thank you' or 'sorry about that'. Other negative experiences: Over the past few weeks, I had requested to have a croissant warmed up (which tasted like they got it from Costco - not fresh). I could see the croissant sitting on the counter by the kitchen with multiple kitchen staff looking at it and ignoring it. Finally, one of them took it, warmed it up, returned it to counter and rang bell for employee to pick it up. It sat there for 10 minutes while an employee was staring at her phone, until I went up to her and politely notified her that I think my croissant is ready and that it's been sitting there for 10 minutes. She puts her phone away and brings it over without any apology or 'thank you' for your patience. This same exact experience happened 2 more times - and the cafe WAS NOT BUSY when this happened. I was there last week standing in line, and within 5 minutes, at least 3 different customers went up to the counter to tell the employee they received the wrong order. What is going on at this place?? There is ONE, and only one employee who recognizes me as a regular and is usually friendly. Most of the other employees behind the ordering counter come off as smug, hipster, etc. BOTTOM LINE: is the coffee good? Yes. Is the customer service good? Absolutely not. read more
