I came here before when I was with the Japanese study group. It hasn't changed much with its lovely inside. My Lolita group came here after spending time at another cafe. If it wasn't for a friends recommendation, I never would have found myself walking in here by just looking at it from the outside. Cool ambiance. They validate up to 3 hrs parking in the attached structure. Prices are decent and they give free coffee refills. There's also free wifi and a call button at each table/booth. They have free wifi and plenty of outlets to plug in your computers. I stopped in for a little bit before I had to take the bus back to San Francisco. My friend and I ordered the rose tea to share. The tea came in a neat little teapot cup contraption like device. You set the teapot on top of the cup and press down into the cup and tea came out. I was quite fascinated by that so that definitely added to the experience. Must be a one-stop shop for guys to bring their date and conveniently slip out to the bathroom to buy flowers (yes, the flower shop is right next to the restrooms!). Also the booths are ultra high and private-can't see people from adjacent tables and super comfy too. Food wise, sky high prices: $6 for an iced tea and $10 for a small bowl of shaved ice! We ordered the atrocious pumpkin shaved ice recommended by the waitress-pureed pumpkin mush just didn't go well with shaved ice. The bananas and whipped cream added to the smooshy texture of the entire shaved ice bowl. Maybe good for those with no teeth, but I felt like I was eating cold baby food. Also, I saw the waiters refill the display case with what looked suspiciously like croissant trays and red velvet cake from Costco! fyi: you're getting food from Costco for triple the price! Nooo!! D: I dislike disappointment so much but alas this review must be made! I went for the first time yesterday with my mother, who recommended we go for a small dinner and some coffee. The parking lot is very spacious and I believe Cafe Scent validates for only 25cents compared to the 75 they charge for all validated tickets. The inside was actually quite lovely and I followed my mom into the further room where a floral shop (wait, wah?) was located alongside the tables. It all seemed very nice and quaint and the waitress gave us two small photo albums that served as their menus. I ordered the Tuna Salad and my mom got her usual latte. Now, here's where the problems began. I will say, to expect a cafe to bust out with some seared Tuna might be a stretch but, hey, it was on their menu and I was definitely craving a nice, crisp salad. However, after 30 minutes of waiting, we had to buzz the (rather good looking) waiter and ask if our salad would arrive today at all? He said, he'll definitely check on that and I believe he did, but it took another 10 minutes before we were finally served the dish. Now, for $14 I was very disappointed. One could go to Callendar's and get the biggest damn salad one has ever seen for $15 with quality ingredients but this was a small plate of the "mixed spring greens" I buy at Vons in a plastic box. Sadly, the vegetables weren't fresh and the tuna was tasteless (a crime!) The whole thing was drenched in a sauce too sweet for a salad and when I finished it, I looked to my mother with a face of a very disappointed child who wanted only but an ice cream cone but was given a packet of Splenda instead. I tried a sip of my mother's latte and it wasn't special either (the small cup was around $5). I guess the reason why I give it 2 stars and not 3 as I had wished to at least provide, is that our waitress was on her phone constantly, and kept walking back to a friend of hers sitting at the table next to us, always chit chatting and not paying attention to the customers (not just us, mind you). The food, plus service just barely squeezed out 2 stars but I haven't given up hope. Hopefully, next time is much better! read more

I usually like cubano, but spanish latte was acceptable. The server forgot about our passion fruit tea until we asked once again.
