The cream puffs are simple but the choux is light, airy and fresh, and the filling is creamy and delicious without being too rich. The napoleon is also delicious with flaky layers and sweet and light cream. By far one of my FAVORITE bakeries. I discovered this when I was moving from SD and every time I've been back I've been dying to get a Napoleon Cake (it's really one of a kind and doesn't feel like a complete visit without this). Some hits and misses but overall will be back to try more things. Not sure if this is a Persian bakery? But I'd never been to a middle eastern bakery before this and this was a really fun experience. Cream puff: very good for a cream puff. Got it bc of the reviews but realized that I'm not really a cream puff person. But if I was this would be it. The petit choux is very light and not at all overly chewy or toothsome like many other bakeries' versions. Whipped cream tasted fresh and balanced, not overly sweet. Baklava: now keep in mind I tried a less typical baklava I'd not seen before. It was not the tradition puff pastry layers with syrupy nuts in between. It was mostly some kind of barely sweet almond paste that was very heavily spiced with cardomom. Not my jam but I'd be excited to try their more typical baklava's. Almond cream cake: this was two layers of cake with pastry cream in the middle and topped by caramelized almonds. Cake was dry, pastry cream was not enough, and almond topping texture was unpleasantly soggy and soft and not well balanced flavor wise. Never again. Coffee: so good! Not sure what they did. Seemed to be some kind of americano with not much water? Very tasty. Funnel cake thing: this looks like funnel cake and is some kind of fried starchy pastry dipped in a honey syrup that is very light and crisp. Sooooo good dipped in the coffee Tiramisu: big winner here. The Marsala and espresso and cream were all so balanced. Very heavy on the cream part which I loved. I asked dude if ladyfingers were housemade and he said they are but he didn't seem to know what he was talking about so idk if that's true but they tasted like they could've been. Service: the lady with the apron was very nice and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The dude didn't know the prices of a lot of things or even what they were. He didn't seem keen to answer questions or go in back and ask the lady the answers to what I was asking that he didn't know. I was very annoyed with him. read more

Found this gem while hunting down a bakery for some Xmas treats, and obviously most places were closed. But they happened to be open till 2pm, and with an amazing cheesecake! We called, specifically asking for a cheesecake and it worked out. And I had to try their other treats while I was there and everything was yummy! They had traditional middle eastern desserts and more familiar ones. We ordered some biscuits and they were all tasty.. the owner gave me popular recommendations but im convinced anything would have been yummy.. They cheesecake itself was quite pricey, I was hesitant getting it for 55 but thats what I get for waiting to grab Xmas treats at the last minute. My reasoning was that mom and pop shops were worth spending a lil extra on and im so glad I did. Thank you for the wonderful cheesecake that topped off our 2020 Xmas dinner . I recommend they put more fruits on there, because the fruits really help cut the richness of the cake, but regardless, it was an A+. I hope to visit more anytime im in town. read more

After finding out the gender of my brother's future baby, they didn't want to wait days to find out. I was set on a mission of finding them a gender reveal cake that could be made in 24 hrs. I called maybe 10-13 bakeries and most had no availability until next year. The quickest I could have made was in 3 days. I finally hit the jackpot when Cakey Bakey answered the phone and said they could have it done by the next morning. They said to come by and drop off the test results for the gender and to bring ideas for what we wanted. We knew our expectations should be realistic for a one day cake order. We had a few options we found on Pinterest and one idea we liked a lot. We showed up to the bakery and were welcomed by two friendly ladies who were just as excited as us. We showed them the special cake idea to see if it was even possible and they said yes so we went with it. The next day when we picked up the cake we were shocked to find it looked even better than the one from the inspo picture. We loved the cake and it tasted delicious!!! My friend and I decided to give this place a try after stuffing ourselves at Sufi. The inside of the bakery is fairly small with a decent selection of yummy desserts. What caught my eyes right away is an assortment of delicious looking dark chocolate barks. At a whopping of $1x a pound, we were a little taken back by the price. It looked too good to pass up though so we went with the dark chocolate with raspberry and peanut. It was delicious! You can tell at the first bite that they use high quality dark chocolate and it was definitely worth the price. The dark chocolate had the right amount of bitterness and the slight sourness of the raspberry complimented each other perfectly.
