Ale Steak with loaded baked potato
    K L.

We decided to head to Calhoun's for a Veterans Day lunch. We arrived around 11:30 and were greeted immediately. They were already busy and had a Veterans' organization setup inside the lobby. I had the ale steak with a loaded baked potato and my wife had the smokehouse salad. The steak was cooked perfectly. Her salad was huge (took over half home) and packed with different meats. I am so appreciative of the support Calhoun's offers veterans. The food was great but their commitment was amazing.

Stopped in on our way home from vacation. The environment was very welcoming as well as the staff. Went with my son's recommendation and got the Ale Steak. It was an excellent choice, now I know why he loves to eat there every time he's in TN. Will definitely go back. The steak had great flavor and was cooked to a perfect medium rare.

Let me preface this by saying that we had eaten at the Calhoun's locations in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg are for years and post COVID we have had mixed experiences but over all good. As we were rolling toward Florida for a fall vacation I was excited to stop at Turkey Creek, I have passed this shopping mecca for years and had never had the chance to stop. The opportunity to go to a place was exciting. This was a Friday Night with a Home University of Tennessee home game on Saturday so it was busy but not crazy when we got there. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I ordered the single pork chop and the hubby got the Ale Steak medium well. My pork chop and spinach Maria was great. All was hot and chop was tender and yummy. However, the hubby's steak came out rare. While they did take it back it was like they lost us at this point service dropped off the steak was returned cooked a bit more but not to the mid well that was ordered, there are no point seem like these was the butter that is normally on top. The next time we are in this area, I will give the Smokey Mountain Brewery a try. Same restaurant group, but seems to have a little more constancy.

Prime rib to go-came home with steak 1/3 fat. Look before leaving

Decent food-hit or miss. Out of 4 plates two were exceptional. Prime rib to go( look before getting home) half the steak was massive amounts of fat plus shrimp was missing. The ribs were actually good and fall off the bone. Bread was burnt not warm and hard. The Mac and cheese had no taste. Salad was fresh and filet was good. Prices decent service lacking.

I ordered 6 Smoked Wings and a side of broccoli... $20. A bit overpriced if you ask me. The broccoli was $5. I got like 2 florets. The chicken tasted good, $2/wing though. I got it to go. It took less than 10 minutes.

This place was pretty good! I would definitely go back and eat here again. My boss had told me about their pork chops so I figured I'd give them a try. And I can honestly say it was one of the better pork chops I have had in Tennessee! They have a plenty of parking and plenty of seats to match. The restaurant is huge. I was greeted by friendly greeters and shown directly to my seat. The server was quick and helpful with my questions. I cannot recall his name but definitely worked hard and did a great job. All in all, you should definitely give this place a try!

Ribs were terrible and not much meat. Burnt and tough. Over priced for the portion received.

The bar is especially impressive, with towering shelves stocked with an enormous bourbon selection, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. After last night I'm not sure if we will ever return. We were seated outside at a table that was right in front of the in and out doors. We waited almost 15 minutes before someone came to wait on this. Honestly this would have been longer if my husband hadn't gone in to ask about a server for our table. Mind you, there were plenty of servers walking to help the other tables around us as we were waiting. Finally a server walked up, her name started with an A, and she was very flippant with helping us. I ordered a beer and my husband ordered water and son ordered a soda. We also went on and ordered since we had no idea when she would return for our order. She brought the water and soda but no beer and then we didn't see her (at our table) until our food came out. My beer came out with the food, a good 10 minutes after I ordered it. I know you may be thinking that the bar was backed up but her other table (that arrived after) got their drinks right away and also a 2nd order of drinks before I received my beer. She never came to check on us with our food and spent more time at the table that arrived with her friends. Her attitude and personality was vastly different with our table versus her friend's table. When it came time to get us our check. I saw her roll her eyes and walked towards us. I let it slide instead of calling her out on her actions as I just wanted to leave. We paid our check and left. I truly feel like this will be our last time here because of the service we received. We have many friends who travel to Knoxville for various sporting events (since I'm in that industry) and I always recommend Stock and Barrel. After last night, I'll be recommending some other place.

The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. How did your whole goat cooked in a dirt pit turn out? How about that whole pig you cooked? Yeah. Thought so. Sorry, Lloyd's. This is not great stuff. Dang. I wish it were.

I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future.

I love food trucks because I always feel like they elevate food typically more then a normal restaurant. I ended up getting some sliced brisket with elotes (Mexican street corn) and coleslaw. I took one bite of the brisket and I literally thought I was back in Texas. I ended up going back up to the window and talking to the employees working and letting them know how great it was. He informed me that the owner is actually from Texas so it makes since he knows how to execute a brisket well. The elotes was good, I've never had it with jalapeños it was different but I wasn't mad about it. I've been to a lot of different restaurants around the area that chop up their coleslaw very finely where it's kind of like a mush which I'm not a fan of, has a weird texture.
