DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Horrible customer service, 10 different people will manage your move/super disjointed, no one talks to anyone else, they will OVERCHARGE you, SHOW UP LATE (mine showed up 4 hours late without communication), yell at you and hang up on you on the phone, and NOT apologize for their UNPROFESSIONALISM, INCOMPETENCE, AND HORRIBLE ATTITUDES. The mover asked ME as the client where to weigh their truck, and put all of their incompetence on me as the client. I worked mostly with Erick and Oscar - who were both incredibly unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. I scheduled my move with Erick 2 months in advance, reached out a week ahead to confirm the time/date, and updated my delivery address--he made it seem like it was all set. Then the day of, no one called or reached out. The movers showed up 4hrs late (it was a guy who had no idea what he was doing and his kid son)--and complained the whole time about how it was his manager's issue. I told Erick I felt like I deserved compensation/a discount and he said he can't authorize it since they were helping me move and that was it. He said all he could do was cancel the move. I said it was incredibly unprofessional to be 4hrs late, not call or communicate, and blame the client, and all he said was "got it." It took 4 hours to pack when it should have taken 2, and I had to make a 7 hour drive -which made me late for key pick up at my new apt. They didn't have the right delivery address. They didn't know who would be dropping off my stuff. They asked ME as the client where the truck scales were, so they could weigh their truck. Oscar called me the next morning and was SUPER rude, yelled at me that he wasn't going to make my delivery unless I paid, and even hung up on me. AVOID THIS COMPANY. read more

Until The day of move which is today 3/22 they arrived an hour 5 mins late no contact the 2 movers came in and immediately start telling me what they could not do. *****Please beware before hiring this company. I saw a few reviews and photos of damaged items online and when I called I asked them about it. Erik said that on occassion it happens but they are bonded and insured and I would be 100% covered if anything happened. I felt good about our call and appreciated his honesty so I hired them. The movers were great but they dropped my 80 inch televison and broke it. I reached out and spoke with Nickie, she sent me some paperwork to fill out a claim. I then recevied a check in the mail for $32 for a $2500 television. I called and asked her about this and she said I didn't select the upgraded insurace. I told her that was never offered to me. I then emailed Richard and told them I would be reaching out to an attorney, he said they would submit the claim for the full amount. A few weeks later I got a call from the insurance adjuster who told me they were going to deny the claim due to the fact that the truck and the driver were not insured. I have tried for several month to settle with Cali Movers and they and not willing to give me anything more then the $32. I have since read other reveiws where this has happened to several other people. Its unfortuantae as this company has such potential but I have never had such horrible customer service. Really didn't want to write this review, but honestly pretty upset about our experience. We live in an apartment building and when they were loading our stuff, they left everything out in the open for awhile and then proceeded to load the truck. Our stuff could've EASILY been taken. Communication also seemed off between workers, Eric told us our stuff would be arriving to our new house the next day(Saturday). But our things ended up coming on a Sunday morning. Our boxes looked like it's been through hell and back, literally. Most boxes had huge holes in them. Our things were also damaged... my boyfriend had sent Eric a message but now that he got our money he has not yet responded. Of course! The movers in general were cool, but one of them was kicking our stuff around in front of us?! Overall, I wouldn't recommend.. our total was 3x the estimate and it really caught us off guard. I am fleeing a domestic violence situation and hired movers to get my daughter and I's belongings to safety. I was quoted just over $2500 for my move from Fallbrook, CA to South Lake Tahoe, CA. They provided loading and transportation only. No packing was done by them. We finished earlier today by noonish (3 hours) and they left. I was called at approximately 8 PM stating that I owe $14,000 additional in order to receive my belongings. I cannot afford this. It was not even close to the estimate received. The estime was just over $2500. The gentleman I've been working with stated that his lead mover stated he told me that the move was going way over weight. He did not say this ever. My mom, daughter and daughters boyfriend were there and this did not happen. They took advantage of my desperation. They have everything we own including every item that belonged to my now deceased child, my legal documents, all of our clothes..BEWARE read more

Beware- They broke my expensive items and offering less then 1% of the total value in compensation. 1st- They broke $1000 led tv and offering $36. And $10 for a bed frame worth $200. Total $46 for $1200 items. 2nd- They quoted $638 for 4 hr move including drive time, Erik quoted me and he is the one who chose the time frame and said it will be done in 4 hours.It took them 1 hour extra and they charged double drivertime and $300 extra. 3rd- Erik didn't offer me any insurance and selected basic insurance without my consent. 4th- As soon as the movers arrived they said it can't be done in 4 hours. It will take them 8 hours to move. And said the sales team is just trying to sell, they don't work on the field, so they don't know how to move. We helped the movers more then 30% to load and unload, they left 25% stuff in the garage and still took them 1 hour extra. For that extra 1 hour they charged $300 extra and $120 cash for the tip. If I have opened the tv right away I wouldn't have paid them a dime. So for 3 bedroom home moving with 18 miles distance cost me around $2500. In short if you are willing to spend that much money and damages to your item you can choose CaliMovers. But I wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

They were an hour late and didn't call. These guys did too much talking to be paid by the hour. They stepped on and bent several power cords, they were disorganized, and didn't label boxes nor place them in the same rooms in the new house (such as kitchen to kitchen). Now, I have to spend time tracking down kitchen items in order to eat tomorrow. And to top it all, they argued that a piece of my entertainment center didn't belong to me, so I have to try and get it back. I will never use them again!!! read more

These guy were great. Fast and careful. They wrapped all of our TVs and loose furniture quite neatly. They moved all of our furniture and boxes from our upstairs apartment to our new home. They started at 8am and finished by 10am. They were extremely friendly and polite. You cannot beat the value of service for the fee they charge. We were rescheduled from a Wednesday move to a Saturday move and promised an additional hour when the movers arrived everything changed, I'm livid! The movers did a great job (very professional) it was the scheduler that was the problem, be prepared for someone to act like they are being honest but they're not, and flip it on you. He promised the world and delivered 1/4 of it. He told them to only make one load and we were supposed to have 4 hours of time and the guys only worked for 3.5 hours and the driver was on the phone with the scheduler a lot of the time which took away from him working. So first of all,The men who moved our furniture were okay. Although the plants I requested didn't all arrive to my new house and some patio furniture was missing. Completely disappointed with Cali Movers....especially for how much we paid! My husband specifically told the head mover that we will move our own food and clothes, then my 23 y/o son saw one of the movers in his room shove some of his clothes from the closet into a hamper....just so happens that an empty hanger was left in the closet and the item that was on that hanger went missing. When we got to the new house I asked the head mover to check the trucks to see if it was there but he said he did not see it. That jacket cost my son $350 and the mover packing his room who put his clothes in the hamper happened to be the same size as my son. I fed all of the movers lunch and gave them a good tip, after they jacked up the price of the move and ended up paying more than I was quoted.I filed a claim for the jacket but was only reimbursed $6. They were polite understanding and helpful. More importantly, they were quick, efficient, and hard working. My only issue is the tape and packing wrap they used.....I didn't need it as I had my own, but they used theirs without letting me know there was a $45 charge for the supplies I didn't ask for. Liars and Thieves. I don't know if I have time or space to write how bad my experience was with this shady company. First of all do not believe a word that comes out of their mouths. I was told they were a small independent company that specializes in moving families out of California. That they had a small fleet of there own trucks and we receive the personal touch. On moving day things seemed a little different. First the crew shows up. Really 2 young guys a a supervisor with his arm in a full cast over his shoulder. Was supposed to be 4 loader/packers. Later the "Supervisors " daughter shows up. Of course the price goes up. I kinda expected a bump. But it was over $4000. I have already packed my house and purchased a new house in Tennessee. Instead of moving blankets they tape paper to all my custom furniture. It takes the finish off. Ruined my bedroom set. Now for delivery. I am told that "their" drivers would call 48 hours in advance with a time to meet them at the house. I'm in an AirBNB 30 minutes away. I get a call we will be at the house in an hour. I scramble but make it work. Now the real shitshow starts. 2 people who speak little English show up in a huge rented truck. It can't make the turn in my driveway. Next the Sheriff's show up yelling and screaming this guy ran some people off the road making it up the curved hill. Then the Highway Patrol show up and cuff the driver. Oh yeah the driver tried to turn around in my new never met neighbor's yard. My furniture is still in this truck on my neighbors yard. They finally write the driver several violations. And now we finally get the truck backed up my driveway through the field in my neighbors yard. They get it all backed up and opened and ask where the unloaders are. Course I don't know what they're talking about. They say they're only drivers and they do not load or unload furniture. So they're free to unload my whole house of furniture in my driveway. I'm calling the moving company they don't have any answers. So it must've been a mistake. Will have somebody out there in a couple hours. They can move it into your house for you. Meanwhile, the drivers start to push my furniture off the truck into my driveway. I have no tools no loading devices. My dressers are upside down in the driveway. My dining room table leg is broken off of it. All of my custom-made bedroom furniture is scraped and scratched from the driveway, which is gravel. so that's my experience with them liars and thieves. In the company called later that night saying they couldn't send anybody out until the next day. The next day which shows up is three guys and an old beat up car with a moving dolly strap to the trunk. You're supposed to be experts. They don't bring any tools. I don't know how to assemble any furniture. Literally I could've gone to Walmart and found three smarter guys. After multiple more discussions with the company they quit taking my calls. They said I should've bought the extra insurance that would've covered damages. The insurance they told me that wasn't really necessary. read more

This company is the worst. Stay away. I've moved around the world multiple times and domestically several times. I have never experienced what I did from this company. On OCT 22 I moved my storage with them to another site. The main guy, he called himself Junior, was verbally abusive for 4 hours. I allege he must have been mentally challenged. He reported to management accusing me of the kind of verbal abuse he was doing to me the whole time. Management accepted his word and in effect called me a liar. The first time I used this company a guy showed up with two assistants. He immediately complained because there was a small amount of packing to do. Then quit and left. I was stuck because I needed to move out that day. So they sent another team and gouged me on the price. Then they gouged me on storage. Then gouged me again to move the goods from their storage to my new storage. This is the worst company I have ever experienced. The worst. Stay away. read more

Nearly doubled the price of our move AFTER they'd picked it up, we were in our vehicle enroute to the new state that we were moving AND we had a signed contract. I have an email from their office manager Nikki assuring me that the price was the price. BUT they had all of our belongings and we had to pay the "ransom" to get our belongings that we had already paid for in FULL per the signed contract. Their moving "manager" Oscar was the rudest person who accused us of adding stuff to the move that they hadn't accounted for and the owner of the company, JC, never returned my calls. A bunch of dishonest criminals in my book. And the saddest part is that they'd received 3 referrals from me prior to my husband and I using them for an out of state move as the owner was a previous employee of mine before he started this company. We had to pay $100 for one of their employees pissing on the property where our stuff was to be stored, and was discovered by the property storage managers and insisted that either they or I pay or our property could not be stored there. And to add insult to injury, we had unimaginable damage to our belongings from breakage of picture frames and fine China and gifts from my deceased parents to scratches on our dining room and living room tables. Oscar was right when he promised me that I would be 100% satisfied with my move. Yes, I am 100% satisfied. Carlos and his crew were excellent. Once they started to pack up my belongings, they did not stop until everything was packed and loaded. All of my furniture was blanketed and shrink-wrapped. They took very good care of glass table tops and mirrors. The boxes were moved with speed and efficiency. When the crew arrived at my new house, a drive of over three hours, they once again set out working quickly, efficiently and reassembled everything that they had disassembled earlier. Thanks to preparations they did in packing my possessions, nothing got wet when the rain came in strong during the unloading. All in all, this crew, led by Carlos exceeded my expectations.
