I love the CPK here, I always come late at night (like 10pm) so we never have to wait. They have a bar, if you want to sit there instead of a table. I prefer this one over, say, the one in at the Santa Anita mall, just because it's so faaawncy here ;) Good date spot, hahaa. The servers are always friendly, and the food is yummy! Then to start off with this refreshing sangria consisting of a white wine, the lovely St. Germaine liqueur which has a fragrant flavor of the elderberry flowers and sparkling soda was an excellent choice. For an appetizer, we chose the sesame ginger chicken dumplings. It had a nice texture, not mushy with a tasty sauce and it equaled the presentation of a fine dining restaurant. Deeeelicious, to boot. Like any CPK--packed packed packed at dinner. WE ate at the bar because we wanted to get in and out in an hour in order to catch a flick. CPK has a shitty wine selection but good beer on tap. (Sierra, Red Car) I really must implore you to get the Miso Salad because it was so wonderful. Great flavors, delicious dressing, fresh and light and filing at the same time. Finally came here after all these years and I've got to say they make a delicious pizza! I ordered the classic of all classics the pepperoni pizza(if you can't make a great pepperoni pizza the rest of your pizza's won't be worth trying) and my girlfriend ordered the tortilla soup and veggie sandwich. We were seated quickly with a great view of the TV for me to glance at during the NBA playoff game. Our waiter Jack was nice the complementary bread tasted fresh and were warm. Pretty decent CPK location. Parking is in the lot underground and restaurant is never really full when I pop in. Service is quick and it's the same dependable CPK chain food they serve everywhere. I do appreciate that they offer curbside service at this location, too. For those unfamiliar with CPK's menu, I suggest the pear and gorgonzola pizza, which is pure heaven. It's also a serious splurge, so be sure to hit the gym afterwards. The basic salads (wedge, artichoke n arugula) are pretty good, too, and they are actually a great size and a great calorie count. I usually order thai chicken pizza which is my personal favorite but today my boyfriend and I decided to try a different menu. The waiter recommended shrimp scampi with cauliflower crust. It was my first time trying cauliflower crust ever and it was SO delicious that I would order everything on cauliflower crust now. You have to understand, my group was tired and grumpy about the 626 night market fiasco... but CPK was pretty honest with us, they said the wait would take about 1 hour, and they were true to their word. Thank goodness for heaters outside, and seats! We were much more willing to wait around for a table for the 8 of us thanks to the heaters and outdoor seating. Also, we were STARVING! CPK will not give you bread as an appetizer unless you request it, so if you're super hungry like we were, ASK! We ordered a lot of food. Good flavoring, oh, and I loved my honey wheat crust on my pizza. You can request it on yours as well if you would like. Yum! Loved our server, she was sweet, on top of her ish, game face on! They actually had to put two tables together to accommodate our party of 8 which randomly bloomed to 9, so it was a bit of a tight fit, but it was still alright. The bathroom was a little tiny, but I think that was because there were oh maybe 5 bazillion hungry Asians scattering out to the nearby streets scavenging for food due to the over flooding of the 626 night market event that happened. We dealed with it. It ended up being alright. Overall though, your average CPK. Nothing super memorable in either a positive or negative way. Wow! First time for us dining at a serviced restaurant since COVID. And we were impressed... tables widely spaced apart in beautiful courtyard space. Watched tables and chairs get sanitizer thoroughly between patrons, high chairs were covered in plastic after sanitizing. Servers were friendly, wore masks, face shields and gloves. And best of all, stayed at a safe distance away even while talking to you at the table. Disposable menus and app available for contactless payment. 2 visits: one good and one bad (July/Aug 2017) Even the good visit started badly, with two rude little hostess chicks pretending they couldn't understand carefully enunciated English. Guess the speaker was too "proper" and not trashy-slang speaking enough for them. Once the manager took over and got us seated, dinner was fine. The bad visit never really happened. With a call-ahead (calling one hour in advance to get on the list is their version of a reservation), I still couldn't get seated. The host and hostess were bumbling and rude, respectively. Incredibly slow service, although all that was ordered were four drinks and simple pizzas from their lunch menu (no modifications). The drinks came after about a fifteen minute wait. After a prolonged wait for our food the waitress came over and said she never put in our order and gave us menus to repeat what we had orginally ordered. She apologized and assured us that she would talk to her manager about the mistake. After 45 minutes our food finally arrived and she apologized again about her mistake. When we received the bill she said the manager didn't want to give us any discount or comp desert because it was the waitresses fault. I recently stayed at the Westin for the Holiday Weekend and refused to eat in the hotel restaurant since they did not have a desert Menu. I came to CPK with my family and wow, this CPK has an amazing patio. It is in a plaza de las fuentes that is like a little Californian Courtyard with beautiful tile and water fountains all over the place. The service was great and you have a nice view of the Pasadena City hall. To top it off the butter cake a la mode was to die for. I will be back now that I found this neat little plaza. read more

This review is for service only. I called in my order and decided to use the curb side service for the first time. The person taking my order was short with me from the start of my phone call and overall lacked finesse when answering some of my questions. And to bluntly state, I would not have needed to ask these questions if she was more informative to begin with. Given this is my first time ordering curb side, I asked questions such as where I should park (park in parking structure or on the street?) I feel this is a valid question given it is Pasadena and there may be parking in the front for pick ups. She responded with a tone that was short and really made me feel like this was an obvious fact that I should know. And to make matters worse, her response was vague and lacked detail. When ordering with her, she misheard my meal and was snappy when I corrected her. What happened to good ol customer service? Or in this case, common courtesy. Someone working in this position (especially on the phone ) should have good social skills and communication skills - both are lacking. I made a large order that day and was thankful it was takeout...I would not have been able to bare spending an evening with her as my server. *Although my rating does not reflect the food - just want to share that food was tasty, came out hot and the overall takeout process is great.
