Gave it another chance. New ownership and new curry bowls. Much better and the lady working the front had a personality.

Last night we started off great, party of 7 reservations at 5:30pm. Parking was good and we were able to park in the metered parking lot even though the sign at the entrance said full. Our table was ready and was seated right on time. Our waiter came by who was very friendly and boy did he know his stuff, got us started with some nice biscuits with boysenberry jelly (unique and delicious), waters and iced teas. Chicken noodle soup was excellent (small little cup), green salad was nice and fresh (ranch dressing was a little too much for me), and our food orders came out shortly after. Mrs. Knotts fried chicken was (original) was nicely flavored and crispy on the outside, the mashed potatoes were good but the gravy wasnt my cup of tea. The chicken dumplings were a little too doughy for my Mom's liking but the soup side of it was excellent. My wife ordered the chicken tenders dinner which was good. My brother had the chicken pot pie ans said it was a good choice. Overall the food was good, service was excellent, value was excellent and atmosphere awesome!

The chicken is just okay imho. I can see why people like it, but it's the biscuits and chicken soup for me. I highly recommend dipping a warm biscuit into the hot chicken soup and eating them together. Frankly, I don't even touch the jam and butter anymore but don't get it twisted, this combo is phenomenal as well. Just depends whether you prefer savory versus sweet. The salad is fine. Just a basic house salad with croutons. I like the boysenberry dressing just because I feel like I'm getting more of a Knott's Berry Farm experience. If you're into alcoholic beverages, I recommend the lemon drop. I'm generally not a big fan of sweet drinks, but there's something about it that's appealing to my taste buds. Some other time I believe I had the boysenberry version, and that was yummy as well. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is lively and family friendly. The wooden chairs are a bit uncomfortable so if you're sensitive about that, perhaps booth seating will bring you more comfort in your dining experience. I'm interested in trying out their onions rings, roasted chicken, and other items besides the popular chicken dinner. To be continued !

This meal was an absolute feast. Before we even ordered, our…read moreserver brought out waters and a bowl of cabbage salad for the table. It's a small gesture, but it immediately made us feel welcomed. We decided to go with one of the combo meals, which came with boneless crispy fried chicken, cheese tteokbokki, and fried potstickers. We also added an order of corn cheese because... how could we not? The chicken lived up to the hype. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in a sauce that had me licking my fingers without shame. The cheese tteokbokki was exactly what I was hoping for. Chewy rice cakes swimming in a rich, spicy, cheesy sauce that kept me coming back for another bite. The corn cheese deserves its own paragraph because wow... I understand why Korean restaurants serve this. Sweet corn covered in gooey melted cheese is one of those dishes that sounds simple but somehow disappears before you realize it. The fried potstickers rounded everything out nicely and added another crispy bite to the meal. And because apparently we hadn't eaten enough, we finished with Dippin' Dots for dessert. It was such a fun way to end the meal and brought back a little childhood nostalgia. Overall, the portions were generous, the food came out hot, and the whole spread looked as good as it tasted. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to whenever the Korean fried chicken craving hits.

Every friend I've brought here has been surprised that it's gluten-free, they can't tell the difference. In fact, many of them say it's even better than the other Korean chicken spots they've tried. The breading was lightly crunchy. Absolutely perfect. The "whole" seemed like a whole chicken was cut into 12 pieces and fried. There were two of each part of the chicken. I was surprised that it came with two sides: a finely shredded cabbage with salad dressing that reminded me of a tame thousand island, and a small dish of pickled jicama. They complemented the chicken perfectly. Ambience and service: comfortable and friendly We went on a Monday night so it was almost empty. The server (and maybe owner?) brought us menus and water right away, was timely in taking our order, and attentive. The food was served fairly quick considering it was cooked to order, but naturally it took longer than a fast food place that has food waiting under heat lamps. There was music but it was quiet enough to be enjoyable during discussion. The lighting is nicely dimmed but bright enough to see everything clearly. The bathroom is easy to access and has hot water and good soap for washing the sticky deliciousness from your hands when you're done eating. The tables have bins of napkins and chop sticks so you don't have to wait for service to bring those. There was also a little bucket with a trash liner in it for chicken bones and trash. In summary, this was the best chicken I've ever eaten and I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. We will definitely be back here again. Next time we plan to ask for the chicken to be a little spicier.

Maxwell does not disappoint --- their garlic ginger sauce is reall good. The rice is also pretty good, just the right amount of chicken flavor without being too salty. I've also tried the fried chicken, and the skin is super crispy and delicious. Pretty unexpected to find good fried chicken at a Hainan chicken place, but it's a nice surprise. You can add a piece of fried chicken to the Hainan chicken plate, which is what I'd recommend. Looks like a lot of people get takeout from here. There are only two tables inside with a few tables outside. Service is friendly and fairly quick. This is definitely my go-to place for Hainan chicken, and I will be back!

Wasted no time sampling the food as soon as it was served. There is only outdoor seating, so we had to chase some flies away while tasting everything. Each order had crispy skin and came with a side of sauce that was sweet and slightly sour. My favorite was definitely the Cebuchon. Such tender, savory meat! After driving +40 minutes, the skin still had a nice exterior. I do like how minimal their menu is - you can tell they are pork-oriented. I can definitely see myself visiting again or even ordering a catering tray for the holidays.

Ordered the 2 sandwiches for $15 special, shake fries, popcorn chicken & jujubee tea. Ended up getting charged full price for the sandwiches, totaling almost $42. When asked why I was charged full price for the sandwiches, the lone cashier/cook gave me a blank stare and responded, "Well...I already charged you so.." Oof alright, not going to argue over $5 with a food service employee. Lone cashier then ends up cooking the food for us (2nd employee came in when we were almost done with our meal). Ownership should really consider providing better training to their staff. Cashier/cook didn't want to honor the price difference either because she didn't know how to or didn't care enough to do so without a manager present. Would this situation have turned out better if there was more knowledgeable staff or a manager onsite? Who knows. Food was decent, but I probably wouldn't go back. The spiciness was lacking, felt toned down for Korean heat. Popcorn chicken was better than the sandwiches imo.
