You will typically find us here on Wednesday nights! Their food is just like the Lakewood location without the drive and my family thinks the service is even better. It's one of the only places in town I've been able to find cacio y peppe and my girls love their pepperoni pizza. The Lake Highlands location has had consistently poor food. The other locations are fantastic but Lake Highlands? Nope. After the second time ordering pizza and Fettuccine, we gave up. We called and emailed to complain after the second experience and the reply was along the lines of "sorry you had an issue, thank you for your response". No more. Money is tight these days. We can't afford to spend it on substandard food. read more

After so many good experiences at other locations we gave this one a shot because it's closer to us and boy were we disappointed. This was on Labor Day for dinner. The restaurant was somewhat busy but not overly so. We put in for a focaccia as soon as we sat down. Pizza orders about 10 minutes later. After taking our order, we only saw our waitress two more times the remainder of the very long time we were there. Focaccia came out about 20 minutes after. Waitress asked us if order was ok so far and promptly left. 30 minutes after pizza order was put in I had to flag our waitress down to ask about the order. Reply: "it'll be a few more minutes." After almost an hour we got a hold of the manager. Waitress never offered refills, never communicated about the delay which to be fair was across the board for the whole restaurant. Other tables left without their order. Manager came by and said she'd push the order through but never came back with an update. Finally after over an hour we got our pizzas to go. Thankfully meal was comped and to be fair, food quality is still great but the service seemed to be pretty bad for all tables in our area. Will stick to the locations that have worked and hopefully this one gets the ship right or word of mouth will not be kind to them. read more

Pretty good pizza. I really like the thin crust and dessert pizza at the end. The place was kind of empty when we went though.

Normally we love this place but at this location we placed an order for pickup and it took them 51 minutes before it was ready. They sent a confirmation email of the time it was going to be ready and when we got there they said "it'll be just a few minutes" and my husband finally asked again after waiting 15 minutes and they said "oh yeah it's in the oven now." So they weren't honest, took forever, and then didn't even act like they felt bad for messing our order up! We'll be going to the other location next time! read more

First time at this location on Thursday, and I gotta say, super impressed. We ordered the fried nugz and our server suggested Chicken Parm Spaghetti and the Prosciutto and Arugula pizza and everything was sooo good. 10/10 would order again. I was excited about visiting this new establishment in my neighborhood. Upon entering I felt like I was in a recently painted existing Taco diner. They did no remodeling to its former occupant unless you want to call paint/stain the 2X4 wood slat walls a dark color, change out the bar top and new furniture (probably because M Crowd removed all the furniture when they closed). We sat at the bar. The bartenders seemed very friendly. We ordered the huckleberry drink which was very refreshing. We decided to start with the spinach dip which was acceptable. It was very runny/thin that it could have been a soup. The chips that came with not were so full of grease that it turned an okay appetizer into undesirable one. We then ordered the Fusilla Alla Vodka pasta. It was a nice dish but had to search for the "sausage" that was supposed to be in it. After enjoying the pasta with no protein decided to ask if we could get a meatball or two ($3 each) to the pasta. When the meatballs arrived they were the "fried meatball" appetizer ($14). We don't eat fried foods. When we questioned it we were told that they couldn't just order a meatball or two because they would have to order another pasta entree with the meatballs added? Wait, what did he say? The protein is an add on and you can't just add a meatball or two? We expressed our disappointment and were never offered the opportunity to remove the friend meatball appetizer from our check. We tasted ONE of the meatballs and although I am sure it was great for someone that likes fried foods, it was not for us. So we laid $14 to taste a fried meatball that would not have even been the meatball that would have come with the entree. Two days later (today) I decided to give the place another chance by trying salad and pizza. I ordered the little Ceasar while deciding on a pizza. The salad arrived. It was large pieces of lettuce that was mostly stalk, and the Ceasar dressing was very thin and watery. I don't know if the lattice wasn't dried and they put the dressing in while the lettuce was still very wet or whatever other reason. I was disappointed at this time and decided to not order a pizza. Hopefully they notice these things and will survive. Not sure that I will return here again. Update. After the review, A "Jeff" (possibly owner) responded. And sadly, they couldn't even get my name right, which is smaller because it's right In front of them. Someone is not paying attention to detail. I hope this changes quickly. I went a third time and was even more disappointed. Best of Luck to them. read more

Thanks Amber, you were an amazing Host. I liked that you ask questions and answered questions. I don't normally tip if I'm ordering takeout and has never tasted the food. The ambiance was nice for a Saturday morning first customer. I could only imagine what a Friday evening happy hour would be like. I may just do that with friends in the near future. I googled Best Caesar salad because I didn't want to drive to Lewisville to get my favorite . There were quite a few restaurants that came up near downtown Dallas. I chose your location because I was in the area. The salad's lettuce was beautiful, fresh and crisp but it reminded me of a store salad kit. I requested the order to go which probably had a lot to do with my disappointment. I prefer a tossed chopped lettuce with shredded Parmesan versus shaved Parmesan. I ask for heavy cracked pepper. I should have requested extra black pepper. The waitress did ask if I would like to add my own after going back and forth I suggested she add it. I will return again to try other things listed on your menu . I recommend others try CR for themselves. It appears to be a great place to unwind after work. It was nice and clean also that's always earns a star!!!!!! read more

Went to the new Cane Rossi Lake Highlands location last night & was bowled over by the entire experience. 1. The food was spectacular. As far as I know, this is the only location serving Cacio e Pepe, my absolute favorite pasta dish. And it was the best I've ever tasted. Creamy, peppery perfection. I was delighted to see the OG focaccia back on the menu. Also loved the cocktail selection. Must try: the "I'm Your Huckleberry". 2. The service is always great at any Cane Rosso and this location kept that high standard. 3. The ambiance is great. It was noisy but only because it was full of people enjoying themselves enjoying the best Italian food with their friends. 4. Pricing is very very good & fair. This is top-of-the-line handmade ingredients & most places would charge more It will be hard to not go there every day. Congrats to the team for continuing to bring superb Italian food to Dallas. Pizza was tasty, but the crust was a little soggy. Hope they get this worked out, it just needed a little more time in the oven.

We went for a quick lunch on a cloudy day with our new grand daughter and were lucky enough to have Dani wait on us. She is adorable, professional and just so sweet. Our food that she recommended was delicious and we can't wait to go back. The Fench Rose and Prosecco were great too! 10 stars for Dani! Our first visit was this week. We went for Happy hour and sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and quick to take our order, but as the minutes passed it got busier and busier in the restaurant and became obvious she was the only bartender for the entire place! That is when things started going downhill. We came for the cheesesteak which was sold out at 5:00 before anyone got there. So we ordered a margarita pizza and a hot dog. The pizza came out fairly quick, but was burnt on the bottom. then we waited and waited for the hot dog. Finally getting the bartenders attention, she apologized and said she had forgotten to submit the order. So she did and we waited and waited again. Finally my husband told her forgot it and as we were leaving they brought it out, we declined and left. We have been to other locations but this was a huge disappointment and seems indicative of restaurants in this area unfortunately. read more
