Originally chose this spot because of the location and the fact it's dog friendly. What a gem find for us because the food is delicious! They have a great menu - tons of choices for pizza toppings which is nice because we did the Build Your Own. Our pizza we ordered was cooked perfectly (crispy crust but not burnt). I walked to the restaurant expecting to pick up the two pizzas only to be told the order was cancelled. I told her we didn't want to cancel it, we only wanted to make sure I was able to pick it up. The manager came by and again said we cancelled it. Ultimately, they were able to make reinstate the order. The pizzas were good, slightly salty but hood. I have been here too many times to count and also multiple locations and it is always incredible. The Billy-Ray valentine and the voodoo mamma are me and boyfriends favorite pizzas here. All of the salads are also very delicious and the best way to start the meal before the hot pizza makes it to the table. It's the location in Deep Ellum is very relaxed and welcoming for all ages. They're best known for their honey bastard pizza which is a mix of spicy and sweet! There are so many great pizzas on the menu to chose from (both red and white based) but of course you can build your own. The staff is super friendly and willing to offer some help and explain the menu. The pizza came out super hot and was made with the freshest ingredients. My favorite part of the pizza was the crust! It was so light and fluffy in the inside but had a nice crispy outside with a light charred flavor from the oven. The menu also offers a great selections of cocktails. Being from NY, I always hesitate to eat pizza in other states, but cane rosso came recommended by all the locals so I figured I'd give it a try. First I'll say that the pizza was pretty decent. I prefer my crust to be crispier/sturdier all the way through, so this fell slightly short because it was almost a little soggy towards the center. We also tried the meatball app. The meatball was great, but the sauce was a little too acidic. The real reason for my deduction of 2 stars was the atmosphere/customer service experience. It was a really chilly night, and we got sat right by the door. I asked to be moved and they immediately said no and made no effort to accommodate the request even though I had a reservation and it wasn't very busy. Furthermore, our waitress took a long time to come over initially and that became a pattern during the dinner. She seemed like she was doing the bare minimum and was definitely not very friendly. AMAZING!!! From the customer service to the food and atmosphere, I really enjoyed this Cane Rosso location. The honey Bastard pizza is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The waitress described the crust as "fork & knife" style (thin in the middle but the edges are thicker and crunchy). Spinach Artichoke dip is like no other...served on the same pie crust as the pizza (but smaller) is creamy and delicious and no dipping needed. I'm going to keep this short and savory, I came to this place 6 years ago, ordered my pizza and it got to me in less than two minutes, I even told the waitress it's the wrong table because I just ordered and she said "no, this is yours". Came Rosso is a Neapolitan Style Pizza place located in Deep Ellum of Dallas. Atmosphere: It's a very large open space inside with seating at tables and along the walls. There is also a good sized bar where you can sit and watch the pizzas being made and places into the large oven. Awesome Star Wars paintings and other painting are on the walls. 1 Star Service: It was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us some great suggestions. I took one of these suggestions and created my own pizza. 2 Stars Food: Top notch pizzas. The perfect crisp on the outer crust with that New York Style sag in the middle. I built my own which I put the hot soppressata and Calabrian Chili's on mine. I also added prosciutto which was divine. Wow! It was hot, but oh so good!!! The wife opted for the lunch special Margherita while the daughter had the lunch special pepperoni. My son got the Chicken Parmesan. All the pizzas were delicious. My son liked his parm as well. 2 Stars Overall Impression: Will definitely return for such good food. 5 Stars ------------------------ My Rating System: Things have changed. There is street parking in the area and a few lots available. The interior is clean and the service was polite and fast. There was a large TV with football on. Food (2/5): We split the Honey Bastard. I don't eat much pizza and usually have thin crust when I do so this was just too greasy for my taste. The soft crust was actually quite tasty and a nice texture. It's not too bready. There is a little heat from the habanero honey, but not much. The soppressata tastes like standard salami. They have some local beers on tap.
