So this is specifically for the to-go part of the restaurant which is on the side. Not the actual main restaurant. I have to say this is perhaps some of the worst Dimsum I've had in a while. I didn't order too many items but I got some my favorites and I was just highly disappointed. So when I first entered, the workers were just standing around staring at their phones turned around. It was like a good 5-10 minutes before they turned around and asked me what I wanted. Pricing for the Dimsum is expensive for the quality. I mean, some sit down Dimsum restaurants in the same area charge less and taste better. I ordered the Shiu Mai, Beef Ball, Beef Rice Noodle, and taro cake. The Shiu Mai tasted very subpar, it tasted reheated and the texture wasn't good at all. The skin was also very pale which made it feel like it was old stock or sitting too long. The beef ball was okay, but no sauce was included. I feel this was the best thing I had there. The beef noodle rice was a huge let down. The filling was very minimal, and it's really small. The rice noodle itself was really rough and didn't have a smooth consistency. It also tasted pretty bland, the soy sauce included was watered down it was just soy sauce colored water. The taro was a bit odd because they served it steamed here instead of fried. All of the toppings were on top and it's really dry. If you like dried shrimp, there's a good amount on top but it's really dry for a steamed taro cake. It's a big portion but just didn't taste good. The inside is very basic, there's just a bunch of menus on the wall and it feels like any other take out place for like Chinese BBQ. It just has dim sum here too. Parking for this place isn't bad, but it's shared with a lot of other businesses like the 99 Ranch Market and the actual Capital Restaurant. Overall, not my favorite. Too expensive for what it is, doesn't taste good, save your money and go somewhere else. read more

This is the takeout storefront fir Capital Seafood...its not directly adjacent to the restaurant...but a few stores down near the Wing Hop Fung tea and wine store. Good prices here. Just don't go at the tail end of dim sum service at 3 pm...not a lot of food in the hot trays. The half pound of bbq porkvwe purchased for dimmer later was lean, but kinda dark. The bbq pork bake bun were plentiful, you get three buns...that's considered one serving...we got them for a snack later...but i ate one while it was still warm...it had a weird plastic-y flavor/odor. But I'm sure it's not common, just under the heat lamp long and probably transported under plastic wrap...idk. Usually this place is good, so maybe an off afternoon. Ugh!! Why do they charge lump together amount, instead of itemize each item ?? Oh cuz IRS might look into it. They overcharged me $5.50 so I have to back and forth for over 15min. The Siu Mai here is decent. It had good flavor and plenty of meat filling. (4/5) The Ha Cheung is not bad. The shrimp was well seasoned and the noodle was kind of soft but wish it was softer. (3.5/5) The Bean Curd Roll was pretty good. It had a good amount of meat filling and vegetables. The sauce was savory but could have had more umami flavor. (4/5) The Egg Custard Bun was pretty good. When I ripped the bun in half, the egg filling spilled out, so be careful not to get it on your clothes! The egg filling was sweet, delicious, and you could taste the yolk flavor. The bun was soft but was kind of soggy. (4.5/5) The service was decent and pretty quick. They also sell 1-3 item combos ranging from $6-$10 which is pretty affordable. In addition to that, they have a Buy 2 get 1 free discount on their dim sum after 6pm. This place is a pretty old establishment and its interior also reflects that. It is located inside of a plaza with plenty of parking in the lot outside. Overall, the dim sum here is not bad, but I've definitely had better elsewhere. I picked up a variety of my favorite dim sum items and they were good. They have a large picture menu on the wall with item numbers and English names/descriptions to make ordering easy. After mom's eye appointment in Monterey Park, my dad decided to stop in Capital Dim Sum & Seafood for a brunch, 10:30 AM on a Friday morning. It's actually more than half full with 95% Chinese people like us. This is one of the older fashioned dim sum with little carts. The dim sum is also more old school which we happen to like. We ordered 7 items, during the weekday it's worth noting all items are the same price and they give you the tea for free. The service staff are actually nice! Which is pretty rare for restaurants like this! It's a pretty restaurant, traditional Hong Kong style but of course it's old and outdated.... Personally I still find it charming. We enjoyed it here and will definitely come back when we are in the area again. read more

This is a very small dim sum parlor. I see some bad reviews but I will tell you what I tried. I got the Malay Goh and egg tart. Their steamed rice cake was not good. It was hard. I ordered 2x Malay Goh and white sugar steamed cake and it came out to almost $19. Prices have been insane. They don't sell plain Pineapple Bun. Everything had fillings which was surprising to me. For me, the sticky rice was way too much. But idk if that's how it's supposed to be. TENDONS They were very well cooked and very tender. For the two food item combo, you get to choose Chinese restaurant dishes from noodles, spicy tofu and fish vegetables stir fry (which is my favorite) and steamed rice. They also have crispy pork which is the closest thing to my favorite home delicacy (lechon). It's crunchy and good especially when it's fresh. The food is good as I love Chinese food. Last time I was at 99 Ranch, I saw people standing outside this place so I decided to give it a try. Waited in a line with maybe 5-6 patrons waiting. Went fairly quickly. When I got up to the front, I asked for my normal items - chau siu pork buns, har gow, siu mai, shrimp noodles, turnip cake. Saw that they had black sesame balls, which sounded yummy. Unforutnatley they were out of that, along with the taro sesame balls...all but one. I asked if I could have the one, but she said no and suggested some shrimp thing in its place. So I took that and she passed me off to the lady at the register. I asked her if I could get the sesame ball, she also said no but said I could get it if I got two other pastries. I didn't know what was in it but I said okay. In the end I spent about $30, used cash but I think they accept CC which Yum Cha doesn't. Overall dim sum was good. This business is located right next to Wing Hop Fung. We only come here for their roast pork and pork shrimp dumplings (siew mai). Their roasted duck and bbq pork are okay. The har gow (shrimp dumplings) has thicker skin and is filled with shrimp paste (we prefer chopped or whole shrimp har gows). Also, I feel that the whole process of buying food here is easier and smoother when you speak their language (cantonese) :( The older lady in the dim sum section needs to be patient and a touch helpful to those who dont speak her language. read more

The location's front entrance is not obvious from Atlantic Blvd unless you look for the address. Only 3 customers ahead of me, but it was slow. The dimsum is stacked on the counter but not continuous heated. Minus 1 star. For today, it is $3.48 per dim sum. There is a menu with picture on the wall but no price. Price is writtened in Chinese on a piece of paper on the counter top. Looks like they can change price anytime. Minus 1 star. I ordered hargow and sticky rice wrap. My har gow was not hot. One order has 4 pcs of shrimp in a clear skin wrap. The skin is a bit on the thick side to ensure the skin does not break. It does have a good portion of shrimp, but it is more on the shrimp paste texture. Har gow tasted okay. My sticky rice (2ct) has a piece of salted egg yoke, Chinese sausage, and some ground meat. It was good. Expect all dim sum togo orders are placed in foam containers. Napkins and plastic forks are included in my bag without me asking. Plus 1 star. These are the things I got and my review: *BBQ pork buns - this is pretty tasty! *Pork Turnovers - OMG the best I've found so far! *Shumai - not bad, didn't make a huge impact but I'd still buy it *Roasted duck - Great flavors! I'd come back. If you want a crispy duck this is not the place. *Sesame balls - delicious, bit oily but that's what makes it so good too! I don't recommend the egg tarts. Parking was packed so I parked on the east side of Atlantic Blvd and avoided the crazy drivers. Ended up purchasing $30.00 worth of goodies and when I got to the nearby park and indulged - everything was surprisingly good. My last experience at my go to spot at NBC Seafood was a disappointing experience. It was pricy last time, but what was worse was that the pieces of dim sum were much smaller. That wasn't the case here! The wrapping of the har gow and su mai were thick, large in size and stuffed with lots of yummy ingrediants.
