It is hard for me to give this place a one star rating right now because I have had EXCELLENT customer service here and delicious food! However, my most recent trip there was worth complaining about. I have never been into a not-so-busy place where they are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The "shift leader" (who was not wearing a name tag but I found out from another employee was named Elisa) was being anything far from a "leader" she was yelling at an employee named Melissa... YOU JUST DONT DO THAT! And it was not even that busy, maybe two or three cars in the drive thru and a group of maybe 5 boys in the dining area. It may be late, but it shouldn't matter if it's 3 am or 3 pm- service and food should be the same. I just drove through from a late night from work, and paid $8.50 for a sandwich WITH NO CHICKEN. It's my fault for driving all the way home before checking but seriously... how stupid do you have to be to NOT place the chicken in the sandwich before you hand it the customer? I also was not given a receipt. Pathetic service. Disgusting food. I will never stop here again no matter how late I get home and no matter how hungry I am. Suuuper rude, we went through the drive through and asked for ketchup, they didn't give us enough so we went back in to ask for more (food being in the car) and they said they couldn't give us any unless we bought something, we felt so intrusive when it was a fault on their part. Well, what can you say about good ol' Carl? You get what you pay for here. Burgers are about average. Fries about average. The best thing to ever happen to Carl's Jr. was when they came out with the Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger for the new Spiderman movie. That burger was legen.....wait for it.....dary! read more

Terrible service. First walked in, one of their employees saw me and ran to the back then to the bathroom. The "manager" ignored while she scooped ice cream while I waited for service by the girl on the headset, that was already busy, took my order. She was the only one showing real customer service. The "manager" delivered my food to the table with no offer for condiments or napkins. Which isn't a big deal but when I returned for house dressing she was nowhere to be found and the girl on the headset had to help me again (still busy). Frankly the store doesn't deserve her. I've don't use Yelp, but the blatant disrespect shown by this evening shift at this Carl's Jr. has me fuming. First, we get there a couple minutes after the dine in part of the restaurant is closed; oh well, but one employee panamimed us to go through the drive through. Once we got up to the window (which took approximately 15 minutes) we politely asked if we could order there since we (being pedestrians) weren't able to trigger the microphone. A simple, "I'm sorry but for legal reason or company policy we can't," would have sufficed. And this review not written. That isn't what happened. Instead we get a drive through employee who turned to ask (who I assume was his manager) if we could order. She didn't give us a look, ask us a question she just venomously spit out a, "no," and gave us a look like we were trash. The window employee then turned to us and said sorry he can't. My friend, being a bit boisterous, asked, "why? All we wanted was to order some fries." To which the window employee responded with, "you have to have a vehicle, it's called a drive through," in a snarky condescending tone. Having worked night shift customer service for two years I can understand the urge to be grumpy or tired but not the need to take it out on paying customers. Especially when all of this could have been settled with a polite, "sorry dine in is closed," or, "sorry company policy is we can't serve someone in the drive through without a vehicle." So I went here lastnight just before around 1am I ordered a famous star no cheese,fried zucchini,and a strawberry cheesecake I get home eat my zucchini which was good then decided to eat my cheesecake until I realized my slice of cheesecake has apparently been sitting out some time before it got to me I know what you're thinking maybe it melted on the way home absolutely not I live 5min away there wasn't an ounce of coldness to my cheesecake like it has been sitting out for time then I look at the time stamp and it says 11:30 on it so does that mean it's been sitting out since then? Watched the TV ad for the Six Dollar Southwest Patty melt. It looked delicious. Got to from this Carls Jr. and received two cold dry "Angus Beef" hockey pucks. But on the bright side, we got what we ordered. More than half the time this store messes up the order. read more

I usually go early in the morning like this morning 3/11/18 6:24 AM. Almost always through the drive through. The woman who runs the drive through window is always friendly and smiling and in good spirits at a time when I'd be grumpy as hell. Sadly I don't know her name but the date and time should give away who I'm talking about. She remembers my usual order and is the main reason I keep coming back. It's nice to see someone in this industry who doesn't hate being there, especially that early, and is always in a good mood and happy to see you. Anyway just wanted to share and make sure whoever there (manager, boss, etc.) knows what a good job she does and that they are lucky to have her. Too much bad being shared these days and thought I'd add something good. Another tip, I go in the morning cause they'll make you anything on the menu and it's usually fresh and hot and hasn't been sitting around waiting. read more

Well fellow Yelpers you called this one right! I should have gone to the other Carl's location in Chico! But I passed this one on Esplanade on the way in. It was 11:00 PM, we were glad they were open 24/7! At first at least, the gladness failed sooner than later! We had driven all day from Reno where Carl's is our favorite Burger joint. I ordered the big ass Mile high bacon and it was good, my wife ordered the mile high all natural as she wanted a big piece of moo cow, I talked her out of a steak due to the time. But she was in a serious beef mood! She was quite clear even pointing to the picture on the wall adjacent and above you when you approach the counter, and the girl at the register even repeated the right order, but punched the wrong key: TUR KEY as in gobble gobble. so we paid with a credit card I use for traveling, sat down and waited the usual short time! Great-so far. The first bite was the downfall- bird not beef- and that was the problem, and a big one! Sooooooo after producing a big bummer look she took it back. And here is the second problem, they charged one dollar less for da bird so they would make it right for an additional buck. It would have to be run on the credit card as cash was slim at this point of the trip. One buck more and the night shift supervisor would not budge. But my wife has not budged in the 40 plus years I have known her, and she was not starting now! Definitely two sides of the issue. Ive been going to this specifc carls jr after work for sometime. Im a bartender so i get off work LATE. 3am rolls around and everytime i go i find myself disgusted. Not even by the food. But by the employees. The manager KJ is so rude. Once i heard him yell at an employee directly in front of me, as the guy getting yelled at was ringing me up. The guy was nice too. I hope he doesnt work there. 3am you must deal with a lot of people who are intoxicated, but i do too! Its the service industry, if you dont like your job. Quit. Dont take it out on people who are just hungry and want ro go home. My gosh. I stopped going there after that but tonight i decided to go again because just maaaaybe its changed. Nope same thing. This time it was a girl who looks like she didbt like her job. Their systems webt down "7" minutes. I waited, i was in drive thru anyways. She seemed as though she was just rushing me out of there. Not going to drive back to explain how to tell 2's and 3's apart to the fry cook. Not the first time they've botched a simple order. Possibly the 5th this year? Usually this Carl's Jr. Is on top of its game but lately they have been slipping big time. The past few times I've gone there they have forgotten to put some items in the bag so I've had to drive all the way back over. Lately their food has been cold and seems like it's been sitting out awhile. Their fries are cold and floppy- not fresh at all. Always remember to check your bags before pulling out of the drive thru to make sure they gave you everything you paid for. I was the only one in the store and the employee had better things to do than help me. After standing at the counter for just over 7 minutes of being ignored I was able to place my order to an obviously un-attentive employee. Upon returning home I realize that not only did I not get what I ordered but apparently asking for ketchup also means I get no ketchup and extra ranch (which I did not want). I will never go this location ever again! I was told I couldn't use the bathroom after paying for my meal! It wouldn't have been a big deal, but, the way I was told that I couldn't use the bathroom was. This location has rude employees and management who clearly doesn't care how their employees treat others. I cannot believe the way I was treated tonight! I'm completely baffled by the experience.
