Try their frozen margaritas, quesadillas, and ribeye tacos! Chips: I like warm, white, thin, crispy chips. Casa Mama serves up chips that are a little thicker than I prefer, but passable for my standards! Salsa: I like cold red salsa, and Casa Mama serves salsa that's more home-grown. My husband loves the stuff, but it's not my style. Queso: Queso blanco is the ONLY kind of queso. And Casa Mama serves up some of the only queso blanco in the city. Casa Mama's queso has flavor, which is more than I can say for some other spots. Meat Quality: We love spots that serve up good quality protein. Nearby La Hacienda serves much better protein but at a much higher price. Casa Mama's meats are pretty good - I like to stick with fajita chicken and ribeye. Margaritas: This should have been first, right? The margaritas here are great, and it only takes half of one to get me smiling! Service: Service is fast and friendly. We've NEVER been left waiting for anything, whether it be water, check, or drinks. Even food comes out crazy fast here! Great spot to go to if you're short on time. Make it a point to come here between 4pm-7pm weekdays for Happy Hour. Margaritas are well-priced at only $3.50 a piece! Tuesday is all day happy hour, which is an absolute steal. My husband and I can have dinner and a couple of drinks and walk out of there under $40 with tip. This is a casual neighborhood spot, which means we are able to swing by no matter the occasion. We've been known to stop by post-workout for some margaritas. This is our favorite part of Casa Mama - it's an all-occasions kind of place. Definitely worth a visit! Discovered this restaurant because it's in close proximity to Baylor Heart hospital and now I gladly take the drive there if I'm in the mood for tortilla soup. Not a bad spot for some authentic Latin cuisine if you want a change from your regular place. I really like the soup with meat. I seldom write reviews, but Casa Mama deserves a good one. We walked in and were seated right away...on Friday at 7pm! We already knew we both wanted steak fajitas. Her, corn tortillas, me flour. We also ordered 2 house margaritas. We had a great middle table where we were able to have a conversation without yelling as well as for people watching. True, the palce was busy and it had a rather open ceiling, which usually causes sounds to echo but we were able to have a nice conversation. Are plates came out before we expected them to. Three waiters organized our table for us (seldom happens), set the condiments out on one plate and another to "build things"! The center piece was a large cast iron plate that caught us off guard by how large it was. Big strips of beef, onions and peppers. The fajitias were the best I've had out anywhere. The meat, carne asada, had fabulous seasonings and was cooked perfectly. The sides were good but I missed grated cheese. We feasted till full but we had enough left over for another dinner, which we had the next evening. I thanked the waiter and also gave him my compliments to the bar tender too. There's nothing worse than ordering a margarita and has no kick, so I had brought a flask to spice up our drinks but we didn't need to. My wife agreed. I consider this restaurant a hidden gem because you almost have to be trying to find it. Casa Mama is tucked away in a little strip of shops and easy to miss noticing from the road. I only found it because I saw their sign while getting gas at the QT across the street one day and decided to give it a try. Like the Tardis, it's somehow bigger on the inside. The atmosphere is comfortable and tasteful. They also have a few tables outdoors. If the lot is full, don't drive away--there is plenty of parking around the back of the building. The service is outstanding...such nice people! I especially like their salsa. Each time I have been, I have observed the salsa had a notably fresh flavor. It is not very hot, but for most people, it will be just right. My go-to order is beef fajitas with corn tortillas. The fajitas are not remarkable, and I mean this in a good way! They are exactly as they should be. The beef is, however, just a bit better than most. It's more tender than most fajita steak. I am pretty certain they marinate well to achieve the tenderness and flavor, but the marinade does not impart any overwhelming flavors. I rarely go for desserts, but I have experienced the sopapillas. They did not disappoint. Since finding Casa Mama, it has become a weekly destination. Chimichangas should NEVER include peas carrots and corn! The chef attempted to hide the bad taste of the chimichanga by smothering it in cheese. Didn't work. The salad was so dried up and made from old ingredients. The side of guacamole I ordered was barely larger than my thumb. It is the smallest side of guacamole I have ever seen. The only thing good about our meal was the waiter. We had a big party and he was wonderful. Wish we got his name. Food was awful and flavorless. Drinks never came out correctly. My wife ordered sangria and she got a frozen drink they said was sangria. Tasted like frozen lemonade. Sent it back and they brought what they said was another sangria. It tasted like 7up. My dad is OBSESSED with Mexican food, so when my parents came to visit we tried this place out. I told him about the great reviews, and how the photos of the enchiladas looked incredible. My father considers himself a chips and salsa connoisseur and immediately began raving about the obviously homemade salsa. He requested more several minutes later and began making jokes to my mom about how if he ever goes missing he's "visiting" me but actually he'll be at Casa Mama. He continued to say this repeatedly throughout dinner. He had the combo plate and the green sauce on his enchilada was somehow life changing. He made us all try it. I told him that's salsa verde, and he stopped the waiter to tell him how great the "lime sauce" was. I had the flauta plate, which was delicious. My mother, who is not an adventurous eater, picked one of the soups and surprisingly loved it. I've came to this restaurant one day for lunch, and two weeks later for dinner. The lunch experience was good! I ordered the steak taco plate and the steak quesadillas. The tacos were tasty and meat was tender, whole beans and rice was flavorful. Quesadillas were good and cheesy. It's was real authentic Mexican food. Even the chips and salsa was good and fresh from scratch. The waiter refilled our salsa and offered us more chips. The dinner experience was great! The Cameron's Diablo was soo soo good I finished it all. Happy hour for cocktails is over at 7p. So get there before 7p or drinks are bit pricy. The mojitos are good and refreshing. The bar looked pretty stocked beer, wine etc. The ambiance is a rustic feel with clean environment. The 2019 World Series was on the several TVs on the walls, so it was packed but a calm crowd. The owner of restaurant kept walking by our table making sure we were taking care of, which was nice. The only thing I would suggest is to be patient because it takes along time to bring the food out. We waited about 40 minutes, but worth the wait because the food is Delicious. Food and service was very good. I had two beef crispy tacos and my friend had taco salad with grilled chicken fajita meat. The tacos were not greasy and tasted delicious. They served a spicy Serano salsa with the tacos that was spicy, but delicious. The dressing for the salad was a bus sonic that looked like Picada Gallo in it that was very fresh. It was also delicious. Our server was attentive, refilling our salsa and drinks as needed. The salsa had definite hints of lime juice that was very tasty. We definitely will go back. The gf and I were in an odd area for lunch today and stumbled on Casa Mama. Chips taste super fresh and salsa was roasted greatness!! We ordered the Sanchez Fajitas. They looked good but were disappointing. Shrimp seemed liked it was precooked and from a frozen bad. Chicken was seasoned well and cut thin. Beef was not great quality cut. Sausage was probably the cheapest available. Bean were on point. Rice was nothing special nor were the tortillas. The service was impeccable!! This would be the only reason I would try the food again. Just knowing I will be well taken care of, is worth a 2nd chance. $30 lunch, $10 tip read more

Ordered the pork tamales for my entree. The description depicted a pork tamale with a pork stew on top. It was a plain masa tamale with a few flecks of green...no meat inside with a baby scoop of pork stew on top. The tamale needed more sauce and ended up being dry. The few pork chucks they put on top were tender and flavored well. The refried beans were bland and I found a few burnt chunks in them. Yuck. Ordered the top shelf margarita on the rocks. It was too sour and tasted mostly like orange juice. My husband on the other hand who agreed on the saltiness af the salsa and queso really enjoyed his 3 enchilada plate of 1 chicken, 1 beef and 1 cheese. He said too that the rice was good. Most restaurants will tell you it is homemade or made from scratch, however if you know anything about cooking and food most would agree with me in naming this place one of the best made from scratch Mexican restaurants in Plano/Addison area. The white queso is good, however the spinach tamales are an absolute must try. Casa Mama is our go-to local tex mex non- chain happy hour restaurant lol. Good chips, salsa, queso and happy hour margs. HH until 7pm M-F, 11-3 Sat and all day Sun. Discounts are on margs, well drinks and beer I think. We always get the house frozen margs which range from $4 for lime to $4.50 with flavor. They're not huge but not small either. Entrées and service have been hit or miss. Had the enchilada Mexicanas tonight and they were disappointing with frozen breakfast potatoes, jarred pickled jalepeno, small portion and no rice or beans. Just ordered from here and I ordered cheese enchiladas and veggie tamales. I asked for ajv ado sauce and extra cheese. He says he didn't here me say avocado sauce but why add chili sauce. The menu says cheese enchilada with chili or avocado cause. Not cheese enchiladas with chili sauce and avocado sauce optional. When I called back to say something he was very rude. I'll be disputing the charges with my bank for a full refund. And the veggie tamales were disgusting. read more
