Fun place!!!! A group of us Yelpers met here on a Friday Night just before Happy Hour was over. My drink was t included on the HH menu, ofc:). But who cares. It was delicious and really not much more than their standard HH margarita. The inside is beautiful, clean and has a great vibe. The entire staff were very attentive and helpful. Our "event coordinator" for the evening is a regular so we got the "special" treatment. No, nothing was comped but we were well taken care of! Lol. I ordered a cucumber marg with a sugar rim, cause that's how I fly, and the fried chicken tacos which were yummy!!! *The menu is Al La Carte: no sides accompanied my tacos. Which was a bummer. I guess next time I would order some sides to share because they were a bit pricey. *They have a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant. Otherwise park on the street. Came here again with a group of friends. Still fabulous. The staff/service was AMAZING!! and as always, food was delicious. I, of course, again, got the steak tacos lol. And they were so gooood! I also got the Happy hour guacamole and it wasn't the same as the one I had when I came during my last review. It was a bit small and no pomegranate in it. And it was 10 bucks I think on the hh menu. It was a nice sunny day as I was heading into happy hour to meet with some Yee's for the night! As I walked up Cascabel it is in between two dentist offices, you'll see a driveway that isn't marked private and the entrance is hidden half way up that driveway.. a unique way to get into a restaurant. There wasn't a hostess stand when you enter, though I might have missed it tbh, so we just found someone and they directed us to our table. This place gives you a at home feel, each room is filled with tables and chairs and a huge bar in the back that took up most of that side room. There's also outside seating but not sure how big the patio was as we got a table inside. We came in for happy hour and that's exactly what we did.. drinks were flowing and even got some tacos to add into the mix. We started off with pretty much everyone getting a margarita at the table, and I was even able to get one and switch out the alcohol which was a plus as it was house made. Now I'm gonna warn ya, your first sip is gonna be like you just downed a shot, these drinks are strong and well worth that $15 price tag. I got the hibiscus margarita with Tito's vodka. I let the ice melt a little in it so it wasn't so strong, but all you really need is a few of them and you'll be feeling real good. When we first sat down, they brought over some chips and salsa, note that the first basket is free and then they charge you for every basket afterwards. I also noticed that when you order, everything is considered a la carte items in a sense, so if you want a side of rice or beans it's gonna cost ya extra. I ended up getting the vegan tacos and asked for them on corn instead of the flour tortillas they come with. Get ready to get your hands messy, cause these tacos were everywhere, though they were quite good and had lots of flavor to them. The tacos come as a set of two and are street taco style. After the food was gone and so were the drinks, we ended the night with a few selfies. It was great to catch up with everyone on a happy hour end of the week, Friday night! read more

Enjoyed a trip to this upscale hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot with my fellow Yelpies for an unofficial Yelp Elite Event (UYE). The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are excellent. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive. I made it just in time for Happy Hour (4pm -6:30pm) to order the steak tacos with chimichurri roasted tomato, cascabel salsa, chipotle aioli, topped with micro cilantro and served on fresh flour tortillas (delicious!) and Cascabel Margarita (strong and tasty! Lime heavy in terms of flavor.) I also opted to order the Hibiscus Margarita (I'll be honest, I could only really taste the liquor in this one), the duck confit enfrijoladas with a side order of sour cream (our server mentioned it was a little spicy so I figured the cream might cut some of the spice if it was too spicy - it wasn't too spicy and was a home run for me), and the tres leches cake with fresh fruit and ice cream - Devine! My bill pre-tip was about $60 bucks. Also pictured are the lobster tacos and fish tacos without slaw, enjoyed by one of my fellow Yelpies. I've been to Cascabella several times and typically make a reservation. They have a small parking lot or you can find free street parking nearby. I've done the inside and outside and both of them. Have a nice ambience. The food here is really good. I enjoy the tacos as they are often a little unique. I believe I had a duck taco the last time I went and it was really good. Service has always been really good here. It tends to be a little on the pricey or side, so recommend coming here to spend a lovely evening with friends, more than just a casual quick dinner out on a whim. read more

It was my first time trying this place and it's kind of hidden. If you're passing by you might not even know there's a restaurant there it looks like a residential home. There's convenient parking right in the back which is helpful but it also seems like there is street parking too just in case that's full. I went on a Sunday evening. The service was great. We were seated right away for our reservation. I ordered a mocktail but it was a little too sweet for me. We ordered some appetizers and a whole lot of tacos to share. The tacos were sadly disappointing. I think the only thing that was absolutely delicious was the guac but it's also very hard to mess that up. The dessert was also very delicious. The food was average it wasn't bad but it wasn't wow either. The shrimp looked small and tasted bitter, the pork belly was good but I could only have one bite due to the fattiness of it. The ambiance was good and food slightly disappointing. They might have other items on the menu that taste better but not too inclined to go back. read more

This place never disappoints! My husband and I have been coming here for years now and love sitting at the bar the most. John is the best! He always remembers us, he is very nice and very attentive and also makes the best drinks. The tacos are our favorite, they are so tasty. We recently tried the hamachi ceviche and lobster tortilla soup and both were delicious. The food always comes out in a timely fashion. The food is amazing, well seasoned, and you definitely need to give Cascabel a try. We tried the shrimp tacos, red snapper tacos, lobster tacos, and the guacamole. You can skip the lobster tacos but everything else is fire. Our favorite was the red snapper tacos. The service was exemplary, full of energy and very engaging. Our server encouraged us to try some of the popular drinks and they were fantastic as well. Perfect for date night with dim lighting to enhance the mood. Tbe salsa was solid and the chips were fine which is a good indicator of the meal to come. Honestly, I don't remember much of the meal. I irdereee the carnitas and remember appreciating it but not having a true sense of crispness to the meat. Then again, I didn't specifically ask for it to be crispy but that's kind of the definition, right? The four instead of five star is because the noise level was shockingly bad. Love this hidden gem. It's such a neighborhood staple. Their drinks and food are great. Love that their dishes are small but shareable which makes it easy to get a few things so you can really taste their menu. The ambiance is so cool since it's inside of a 1920s Spanish style house which makes it very cozy and it's a whole vibe. I loved the low-key cozy and romantic ambiance of Cascabel. It's beautifully designed, and the food was excellent. A restaurant with free, even if limited, parking in the back is also a plus. (Metered street parking is plentiful, as well.) However, the margaritas were weak and mostly ice. Our server also seemed like this was her first-ever job in waitressing. She made poor eye contact, messed up our order, and, at one point, I saw her running full speed across the relatively small dining room. Bless her heart. But, assuming they have a wine menu and I wouldn't have a server whose first-ever day in hospitality coincided with my next visit, I'd return to Cascabel. read more

This is a beautiful place with friendly service! The Duck Tacos were pretty tasty and the chips were super tasty. What stops me from giving this place a better rating is the price. We traveled out for this place, food was 20/10 honestly the best pork belly tacos ever. But we both got food poisoning and ended up in the urgent care. Confirmed it's food poisoning and ruined our trip for our anniversary. It's probably a here and there thing for people to get food poisoning but with pork belly being a bit under cooked I think that's what hit us hard. And it wasn't any other place since we didn't eat out the entire day leading up to dinner. Had a lovely dinner with my wife and a friend of ours here last week. Skirt steak was perfectly cooked and came with a demi glacé which gave a Mexican/Spanish flair. Steak and shrimp tacos were both flavorful and a good portion size, as was the Lomo Saltado. Classic Guacamole was tasty, but the serving size was really only enough for two people to enjoy. Service was prompt and courteous. Would have liked the choice of the roasted tomatillo salsa that came with the skirt steak, as it was significantly better than the salsa that came with the chips.
