Loved it! Being dairy free I have to be super careful when ordering pizza and this place hits it out of the park. The smell made my stomach smile while I carried it to the dinner table and the taste did not disappoint. These slices are super flimsy but if you've ever had an authentic NY slice you know what to expect. I won't say this is the same as what you'd get on the East coast but for southern Cali this place is pretty damn good. Heard about this place from some Burbank locals, so decided to try it. The guy manning the cashier made some good recommendation and was very accommodating. I got a large pizza, half with pepperoni and pineapple and the other half world series style. After 10 minutes in, they notified me that they made the wrong pizza. Instead of trying to pawn it off like I ordered something different, he was very honest and started to make another one. To supplement the additional wait, they offered complimentary garlic rolls, which was pretty good. What I love about mom and pop places is they care about the customer. Everyone makes mistakes, its how you deal with the mistakes that leaves an impression on the customer. The pizza was pretty good, especially the world series. Definitely coming back. The pizza is average, probably worth 2.5 stars, sadly the service rates zero stars. I wonder if the ownership knows how rude the man is who answers the telephone there. I called to order eight pizza's for my business on a Friday and the man who took my call was just a jerk. When someone calls to give you their business you need to be polite. It's just common sense. I rarely do things like this but I ended up just cancelling my order. I mean why the heck would you be rude to someone who called to give you their money? How often do you get to feel like you're crashing an 8-year-old's birthday party on your lunch break? This place is truly buried treasure. Buried behind a batting cage to be exact. I came here after giving it the once-over on Yelp but somehow the locale didn't register. I was expecting a dive, but this is literally a concession stand inside an arcade with a claw machine on one side and little league plaques on the other. The cashier (and perhaps owner) was friendly and seemed to have a following of sorts. (At one point a Nickelodeon employee came and sat right at the counter, ordered "the usual", and proceeded to eat his sub right there while catching up with the guy in facultative English. Not an everyday sight in L.A.) So I ordered my two slices of cheese and was invited to sit in the birthday area, which was thankfully childless and immaculate on a Tuesday afternoon. The pizza was kind of plain at first and the thin crust was almost overdone, but as the cheese cooled and its grease seeped down into the crust it took on a consistency almost like bread pudding. Not necessarily something you look for in pizza, but it just worked. I can't vouch for anything else on the menu but I imagine it's in the same family of solid, government-issue Italian food. I was hesitant to give it the full four stars but the vibe here is just so awesome and bizarre that I would take it over a Pizza Hut any day. It took me two years to stumble upon this diamond in the pizza rough here in LA. I went to college in NY, and I gladly sampled as many slices of pie from different establishments as I could. I've been here a few times now, and I have to say this is pretty damn close. Big and thin, right amounts of cheese and sauce (and topping when requested). True NY pizza has a bit of a crunch at the bottom, while being soft in the middle... this lacks the crunch, but everything else and the tasty flavor make up for it. Polite service. First time trying this pizza tonight. The woman on the phone was friendly and took my order without any problems or having to repeat myself. Our pizzas arrived within a half hour. The delivery woman was pleasant and and gave me some coupons along with a menu should I decide to order again. Upon opening the box I noticed how authentic the pizza looked. It also tastes pretty authentic. This is just like the pizza you can get from the many pizzerias peppered throughout NYC selling pizza by the slice. Finally, a pizza joint where they state a specified time for pending pizza delivery...and it's 100% accurate! Take that Papa John's that has screwed me over many times! But anyways, back to the food. Even my super picky ex-bf (we were together at the time) was amazed at this pizza and he is a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur having lived in Chicago for some time. He said that Chicago pizza is still best but this is some of the best pizza he's had since he's moved out here to California. Pizza delivery has always been super quick! MOst pizza joints like Papa johns and Dominos takes 45-60mins to deliver sometimes but every time I have ordered from Central Park, pizza has been here in 30min or less. Whether he knows it or not, I owe a tremendous debt to my cousin from Queens, New York who advised me to try this gem. For years I've struggled to find a local pizza spot that produces something akin to the dollar slices I once had in Greenwich Village or the humbling magnificence of Queens' best "pies." No, not until I walked past the batting cages and ordered a large yet simple (in my mind) pepperoni pizza. The crust has the perfect balance of crunch and doughy softness. The sauce to cheese ratio is on point. Just received salads with romaine lettuce from this place. Called and was told staff are aware of the national recall but "that is all we have." Then was told "I'm just doing my job" and the owner told staff to use the romaine despite knowing about the national recall on romaine lettuce due to E. coli deaths. This pizza is as fresh as it gets in Burbank. The pizza is always delicious (my favorite combo is olive, mushroom and pepperoni) and the service is always good. The phone operators always help us get a good special when we order the standard. Delivery is fast. 3 stars I never knew this place existed as I've been to the batting cages it's inside of twice now. After having a massive pizza craving this afternoon, I decided to give this place a try since it has received some pretty good reviews from Yelpers and a few mentions on CH. Like others have said, delivery is fairly quick and free. If you pay by credit card, they charge an extra fee for that type of transaction so cash is king like just about everything else these days. Pizza-wise, I would say it will satisfy a craving for "general" pizza but if you're craving authentic New York style pizza, it might disappoint you depending on who you are. I ordered the Medium sized Meat Pizza which had 6 slices. Central Park Pizza calls their pies "NY Style" which is correct in some ways. (Thin crust, wide slices, conducive to be eaten folded). However, like Juliet V. wrote, it's not exactly true New York style. The crust was a bit too soggy (NY style crust has that unique blend of a crispy bottom, a slightly doughy middle, and a soggy top which gives you that perfect platform for the toppings). Also, the cheese could have been a little more stringy. I could be wrong but I don't think Central Park uses Grande cheese which is a blend of whole milk mozzarella and part-skim mozzarella. That might explain why the cheese wasn't as stringy. In summary, this place is good for the local area and definitely a good spot to choose for delivery but in terms of getting your fix of Grade A primo NY style pizza, you're going to have to locate another pizza dealer. read more

I'm a pizza lover and this place is Awesome!! Ordered the Bat Cade pizza and wings. That was delish! Finally found a pizza joint in Burbank that's super good! It's my new neighborhood go to place. Pizza was moist, ample filling of sliced meatballs, pepperoni, bells and onions. The sauce wasn't heavy or pasty. It was just the right amount and the cheese was moderately spread out. Chicken wings were more moist and tender. Almost like a steam fried process. It was mildly spicy and good. This was a second time we had their pizza and I'm glad we remembered to order from them. Having lived in Chicago for a decade as well as falling ln love with a New Yorker, I love pizza! Central Park Pizza is hands down incredible! My New Yorker husband and New Yorker friend both say this is authentic New York pizza! I highly recommend the National League pizza, followed by a slice of chocolate mousse. How is this possible? A great spot for pizza hidden in a batting cage center? But it's true! Thin crust, large slice pizza - similar to what I had growing up in Brooklyn. The place is inside an old arcade, which is inside a batting practice center. Everything including ordering at a weird cutout window will have you convinced you are making a big mistake. Great Pizza! Located inside of a batting cage, it can be easy to miss this hidden gem. The NY STYLE pizza was delicious; thin crispy crust with hot gooey cheese with yummy toppings, and a fair price. We got a 2 topping small pizza (6 slices total), with 2 medium sodas and a few dipping sauces for just under 20 bucks. Along with being located inside of a batting cage, they also have other fun activities like air hockey, billiards and arcade games available. Great all-around pizza/sandwich/salad place. My coworkers & I have been getting food delivered to work from here because of the fast delivery time (and delivery is free), large menu variety, low prices, and solid food. The pizza is good - the sauce is a little sweeter than average, the slices are thin/normal crust (not really thin crust) , and the toppings are plentiful. My favorite is the margherita - fresh garlic, basil, with sundried tomatoes as a twist on the classic. The sandwiches are gigantic (no puny subs here) & made with good, thick bread. The salads are really solid, and I've found most pizza places to really be lacking in salads (old iceburg lettuce with shaved carrots covered in ranch dressing doesn't really qualify as a salad to me). The veggie salad comes with tons of olives & mozzarella cheese, so its yummyness in every bite (you can almost pretend it's pizza instead of a salad...almost). I also really like the vegetarian version of the chopped antipasto - lots of provolone (so good), olives, and peppercinis. read more

We decided to take the interns out to lunch and I found this pizza place on yelp. It is located in the batting cage and there is tons of parking on the street. Restroom was very clean. Our group of 12 took up the whole "private party" room. We ordered 4 large thin crust pizzas. I tried the Combo (4/5), Central Park Pizza (the pesto sauce gave it a nice kick 5/5), 5 Cheese (I am a cheese lover, pretty darn good 4/5). Oh and special shout out to the cashier guy (maybe the owner?). He was friendly, nice and seemed like he really enjoyed his job. :) read more

I found this place when I started working in Burbank. I'm so skeptical about ordering from a new pizza place because i never know what i'm going to get. Boy, was i surprised! I ordered their chicken parm sandwich on my first order and from then on I have been hooked! The portions here are huge and the price is very reasonable. The food quality is really good as well for the price. The other thing I really like is the customer service there is awesome. I've had a couple coworkers orders messed up and they have either offered to come fix it or give a discount on the next purchase. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their pizza tends to be a bit soggy crusted in the middle. It's pretty messy when you're trying to eat at your desk! It sure tastes good though! This definitely a hidden spot. I think this gets an award for best pizza in the Valley. Who knew that there was some awesome pizza behind a batting cage. And who knew that in the middle of an urban area there was even a batting cage. We came from our friend's graduation at Pickwick Gardens and we were looking for a place to have dinner and we ended up at Central Park Pizza. Can't say this is like a New York Pizza like Lombardi's but for being a NY style pizza in California this is really good.
